Sullivan County, PA. Pondside Cabin Rental

This is a super vacation deal for a cabin in the Endless Mountains region of N.E. Pennsylvania. This cabin and the pond that it is located next to are privately owned and located in beautiful Sullivan County. Sullivan County is one of the last true rural areas in Pennsylvania. This county is a step back in time, where small country stores can still be found and time goes by a whole lot slower than elsewhere. To give you an example of how laid back this area is, we still have only one stop light in the entire county. Harder yet to believe, we are only about four hours from N.Y.C. and the Philadelphia area, making it a quick and affordable getaway.

This cabin is privately owned and is located overlooking a seven acre, horseshoe-shaped pond that is heavily stocked with various species of fish. The catfish literally boil and splash to feed in the evenings. It is entertaining in itself to watch them. Our guests enjoy super catch and release fishing, and often hook on to lunker trophy bass and giant catfish.

The cabin was newly constructed in 2006 and has two bedrooms. One bedroom has a full-size bed, the other contains a full-size bed with a bunk overtop. The living area has a full-size futon as well. The kitchen is modern and is equipped with all the necessities. The bathroom is also modern and contains an over-sized shower. The cabin has electric heat, A.C., television, cell phone service, and a small electric wood like stove to enjoy. A covered back porch overlooks the pond. Along side the pond there is a fire pit and outdoor lawn furniture.

If you enjoy trout fishing and cold mountain streams, they are numerous in this area. Sullivan County is blessed to have some of the most beautiful streams in Pennsylvania, such as the Big Loyalsock Creek and the Little Loyalsock Creek, plus many other smaller streams. Many of them have hiking trails running along sections of them. This cabin is located just minutes from the Loyalsock trail (a reknowned hiking trail), and World's End State Park. Rickett's Glen State Park, is also located in Sullivan County. It has numerous waterfalls to observe and hike along.

Our visitors simply fall in love with this area and we think you'll love it too. Many of our guests say that this is the nicest place that they have ever stayed. We invite you to come and see for yourself!

We've been going to Treaster's Cabin since the first year they opened and make it at least once per summer (we have been there more than a dozen times). The fishing is exceptional with HUGE large mouth bass, perch, pickerel, catfish, bullhead, and sunnies. ANYONE can catch fish here which makes it a GREAT place to bring children. The property is extremely private and peaceful. There are paddle boats and a row boat for guests to use.

We typically take a day trip to Knoebels Amusement Park (great family amusement park with no entry fee - pay as you ride). catch some Little League World Series games in Williamsport (another free activity), visit World's End State Park (excellent swimming), and of course, take a trip to the Forksville General Store (kids get their candy fix there!)

The cabin is cozy (a little tight for our big family), but we spend most of our time outside. It is well stocked with everything you need except your food. Even now as two of our kids are ready to graduate this year, they all still ask when we are going to Treaster's this summer so they don't book something else on those dates and miss out:) This is by far the best value for a family vacation out there (if you like the outdoors) - in over a dozen trips, we've ALWAYS had a great time!

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in this cabin and absolutely enjoyed ourselves! The beds were comfortable and the cabin was extremely clean. The owners were wonderful and very accommodating, even allowing us to check in early with less then 24 hours notice and allowing us to extend our stay for an extra 3 days. The cabin is in the middle of nowhere with a big lake on the property. It was the middle of winter so we didn't get to take advantage of the fishing but our dog loved running around on the land surrounding the property. A cabin this nice is a rare find and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay near Dushore!

We could not have been happier with our four night stay at Treaster's cabin. We were able to take our 2 labs with us and I believe they enjoyed themselves more than we did. The cabin is cozy, but the pond was the best feature in my opinion. We took out the paddle boats, enjoyed some fishing, and took walks alongside the pond. We saw some amazing sunsets that would reflect onto the pond and I can't forget to mention how amazingly clear the stars came out at night. World's End state park is within a twenty minute drive. We would love to return in the near future!!

Father & Son's fishing Trip!

  • 5 of 5

This is my 2nd visit to the Treasters' cabin and it was awesome! This place is like fisherman's heaven, we always catch a lot of fish! The cabin is great, always clean and very relaxing. The highlight of my weekend was saturday night when I caught 3 monster catfish; each over 5 lbs and about 24-30 inches long! I caught them on liver with garlic seasoned all over it. My Dad (aka) the Bass master so he says out fished my brother and me, like always. With my 3 monster catfish I decided to tell him I am now (aka) the catfish master! All in all we caught about 65 fish! I look forward to visiting again and bringing my son and wife in the upcoming future!

Awesome place

My entire family love to come to treaters cabin. We enjoy nice quiet time together and great fishing. We have caught several large bass and catfish. The catfish love cheap cut up hotdogs.(great bait) we have been coming to treaters for several years and often book a few stays. Paul and darla are very nice people and are near by if you need them. This is a great family get away spot!!! Enjoy.
