Great Trinity River Fishing at 3 Bed 2 Bath House, $200/nt, pets considered

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 7, great mountain and valley views

Come to a relaxing mountain setting with a sweeping view across a peaceful meadow, just a short walk across the fields from the Trinity River. The riverfront property is at the end of a quiet country road, located just ten miles south of historic Gold Rush Town of Weaverville.

The Ranch is a great place to visit in all seasons of the year! Your family can enjoy time together, with each person choosing their own level of activity, whether it be fishing, boating, birdwatching, walking, gold-panning, or reading. A good spot from which to take trips to the nearby Trinity Alps, Lewiston or Trinity Lakes, or just stick close to the Ranch, the river, and the quiet. Mt. Shasta is to the northeast, Eureka on the coast and a beautiful road trip to the west, Mt. Lassen to the east. The town of Weaverville has some good restaurants, a museum & various historical gold mining sites.

The fishing is great, the peacefulness complete, and there's no traffic!

About Dennis Arttus & Lorrie Gallager

Dennis has long enjoyed the Trinity Alps area for it's solitude, quiet, great hiking spots, gold-panning, lack of traffic, and weather. Lorrie enjoys it for the river and lake swimming, kayaking, and bird-watching. We have a house outside of Weaverville where we vacation when we're not working 4 1/2 hours away in San Francisco.

Dennis Arttus & Lorrie Gallager purchased this house in 2000

Why Dennis Arttus & Lorrie Gallager chose Trinity River

Remote, quiet, no traffic, Trinity Alps are a relatively unknown gem compared to Tahoe or Yosemite.

What makes this house unique

benefits of the ranch are the quiet, night stars, great view of a mountain valley, direct access to the Trinity River, easy drive to the historic town of Weaverville.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for your welcoming home! Two families rarely see each other, so this gathering definitely made us a lot closer. We went to the nearby stream, which was a guided tour by the friendly dog on the farm. The younger adults went to visit a horse on the street which was absolutely a darling! Lastly, we went kayaking, swimming, and BBQing at Oak Bottom. Our families aren't very adventurous or spontaneous, but this was by far the best family reunion yet. Thank you for your kindness. We appreciate it with all of our hearts.

Gorgeous location, peaceful, relaxing, well-equiped house!

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic property! The first thing we noticed was the quiet - so peaceful that we could easily hear the Trinity river about 100 yards away. The first evening a doe and her fawn casually strolled through the front yard. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The clothes washer and dryer were a bonus. Being August the weather was a little warm, but the house was nice and cool. We watched the Perseid meteor shower and some deer came right up behind us. Weaverville is an easy drive for groceries and restaurants. Truly a gem, we can't wait to visit again in Fall for the autumn colors.

Secluded, but not remote, an ideal location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our February stay at the Ranch. It's just far enough out of town to give you seclusion, but close enough to the Douglas City general store to compensate for anything you forgot. Between the frogs in the pond and the geese in the field, you're serenaded day and night in the most delightful way. The house is more spacious than the pictures indicate, comfy, and clean throughout. And the private access to the river is ideal, with plenty of other nearby public access points to the water.

I expect to stay there again.
