Welcome to "Big AL's Dawg House" - Fun in the sun and the living is easy, perfectly located Ocean Front - 4 bedroom, 3 bath duplex with easy beach access. Enjoy your oceanfront stay overlooking the glistening Atlantic Ocean in this bright and cheery home. Your ocean front covered porch is the perfect spot to rest and enjoy the salty breezes while watching the boats and coastal wildlife. When your day in the sun is complete, rinse off the salt and sand at the outdoor shower located on the beach walkway. You will find that the kitchen is well equipped and features newer stainless steel appliances. Open concept living, kitchen and dining areas overlook the Dunes and Atlantic. A convenient first floor queen bedroom and full bath are located just off the main living area. The location of this home offers easy access to nearby restaurants, shops and water sports.

Pet Friendly: $250 Non-refundable pet fee is required and is limited to a single dog up to 50 pounds. An additional dog(s) may be allowed provided that they are pre-approved by PROACTIVE Vacations. Additional Fees will apply for more than one dog. Guests must crate pets when they are left in the home unattended.

Lovely home away from home

Met owners - they are nice and accommodating. Home was set up well.Ceiling fan upstairs master bedroom wouldn’t turn on had fans to turn on instead. Washing machine did not work )maintenance showed up but couldn’t fix)TV did not turn on (owners helped)

Great location

We loved that the house had a short walk to the beach. The covered porch with rocking chairs was lovely for the evenings. The only complaint we had is the house could use some updates. But we loved the location, we’ve been vacationing at Holden for 25+ years now and stayed at a different house each time and it was one of our favorites for location, beach access, not a long walk through the dunes to get to the beach.

Great Beach Town

We had an amazing time at Big Al's. There was one little internet mishap but it was fixed very quickly. The laundry is shared but really isn't a big deal. We didn't bring our pup this trip but we will definitely bring him next time. Thanks for a great stay! We hope to come back very soon.

There were 10 of us: my daughter and husband, children ages 15, 13, 12, my son and wife, children 9, 6 and myself. We really needed another bed to sleep 10 comfortably so we brought a single blow up bed. But it worked. Also could use more chairs for the dining room table - only 6 for a house sleeping 10. The kitchen was well stocked but we did need a CAN OPENER. Loved the location on the beach. And with the porch which was shady most of the day we were all comfortable - that was the pleasant surprise. I was surprised that we did not feel crowded. Great outside shower that helped us keep the rental clean. We had exceptional weather and a great stay. Holden Beach is great.

Cleanliness could have been better

Cleanliness could have been better. When we arrive the linens bag was still in the home, there was a solo cup hanging from a fish on the wall, there was blood on a half roll of toilet paper upstairs, there was something that looked like spit on the mirror Downstairs in the livingroom. None of the end of your stay instructions seemed to have been completed by the last guest. The trash cans were full. When I contacted management, she ensured me the house was cleaned even though I told her it wasn’t. We spent over $100 in cleaning supplies to clean it ourselves. Oh and I forgot the dirty rag that was left upstairs, that was very dirty and stiff as a board hanging on a towel bar upstairs. It looked like it had been there a while. The house wasn’t cleaned and it’s a shame we are forced to pay for cleaning that just wasn’t done. The storm also dampened our vacation which isn’t anyone’s fault but it really was our worst vacation.

Perfect house for small get together with pets

Perfect location. House well stocked for small family gatherings. Wonderful hosts who are dog lovers. We were greeted with milk bones and bowls and pet beds upon arrival. Everything was as described. We had a wonderful week.

Great views, superior location, comfortable for 3 adults. Needs some TLC, as well as a Keurig, a toaster, and a better blender. Sleeps 10 but it wouldn’t seat 10 comfortably in the TV room. All the steps made it difficult for our senior dog. All in all, we had a great time.

Overall a good place

Mostly okay. Did not appreciate going out to buy towels. Website is confusing stating linens are provided but information about no towels is buried 10 pages in. Not many people travel with towels normally. Great restaurants in the area. We dined at the Cove three times in 5 days. Highly recommend. Facilities were in average condition. Would I stay again? Yes.
