I am a Licensed Real Estate Associate Broker with Lennar Homes. I previously worked 5 years for Four Seasons Resort at Troon North selling fractional/timeshare until sellout last April 2009. This experience at the ultra exclusive Four Seasons Toon, situated in the Sonoran Desert, provided the background for the decoration of this southwestern charmer in a truly old western theme.
Ken & Maria Arrick purchased this house in 2005
We love Old Town of Cave Creek. One of the few Western Towns remaining in Arizona. Everything one could want to live near: fine dining, great galleries, shops and just a great old western town theme minus all the franchise type businesses except 2 that were establshed long ago. A really cool town! It is driving distance from the airport and the ultra chic Scottsdale, with all the elegant restaurants, shopping and theaters, andhowever far enough away to keep it from getting too crowded. Also driving distance to the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals sport complexes.
I love all the views from all the windows. Lots and lots of light. At night, you see and hear the moon, coyotes and owls. During the day, on numerous ocassions I have seen the deer that live in the gulch that runs through the back of our property. At night, it is so quiet and serene along with some fantastic Sunsets and Sunrises. You feel so out of the way of city life, yet close. The secluded feeling of the home setting takes you back to how it must of felt living in the West in the old days!
Thanks for going out of your way to make our stay at Ridgeway Ranch so enjoyable. We felt that we experienced the "Real Arizona" in the heart of the Sonoran Desert living among the locals with their horses and corrals, lots of open space, so many varieties of cactus, watching the mountains turn red at sunset, watching jack rabbits, deer and coyotes (and hearing the coyotes and owls at night). Being so close to town was very convenient to the art and jewelry shows and great local eateries. Mike especially enjoyed YMCA exercise facility. The accomodations-modest looking from the outside-were fabulously renovated on the inside. There was every modern convenience and we were very comfortable. Joyce and Mike R- Maryland
Spent relaxing Christmas in the desert with family. Beautiful Christmas Eve dinner at El Cantada in Cave Creek! Few minor maintenance issues need attention but this is a lovely home in a great setting!
We loved our time in Cave Creek. The house is convenient to town but also secluded. No back door neighbors is a plus. The home is clean and comfortable, we will definitely return!
Nice quiet place to stay. Nice area, we had deer in the front yard.
My husband and I visit the area several times a year and usually stay in a hotel. We really wanted a different experience so we decided on a private vacation rental. What a great experience we had. The house is Southwestern decorated with an inviting pool for those hot summer days.
The Sonoran desert views are spectacular and if you love wildlife this is the place to be; coyotes, Javelina, quail, rabbits and lots of deer!
The area is peaceful and quiet but if you want more the drive is 5 minutes into the towns of Cavecreek & Carefree and 30 minutes to Lake Bartlett or downtown Scottsdale.
Definitely would stay here again.
My wife and I, who have visited this area several times, decided for this trip to rent a house in the desert. We both are nature seekers and found this wonderful home to be exactly what the doctor ordered for winter weary bones. Deer, rabbits, an abundance of birds including raptors, visited our backyard vista on a daily basis. We became so familiar with the ten or so deer that we almost named them. One morning, my wife and I viewed a coyote very quickly traversing the wash that runs past the back fence.
If you are after quiet, a lovely home with a comfortable southwestern feel, then you have found your vacation. And the pool, despite the cool weather, was pleasantly heated and a nice place to relax.
This was our third visit and hopefully will not be our last. Wonderfully peaceful location to chill out - yet close to all the the amenities in Cave Creek, Scottsdale and Phoenix. The house is comfortable and well looked after and the owner is very helpful. Local wildlife includes deer, javelina, quail and rabbits right outside your windows Only a minor item - additional dining chairs and pool-side loungers would help to make this the perfect desert retreat. Thoroughly recommended.
Walking to an abundance of hiking trails. Fishing, boating, etc. @ Bartlett Lake about 15 minutes away.
