Place with Pink awnings!

Loved this place. An excellent array and quantity of summer reading and dynamite views if you like watching the afternoon sun play over your own private lagoon. House well set up with amenities. Good for families. Close to state park and local towns and Beaufort.

Chartreuse house

Lovely house. Great location. Poor communication on the managers part as to amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. If I had known they were available in the storage area I wouldn’t have had to pack my own.

We are glad you enjoyed the house and location. The amenities you mentioned are mostly items left by previous guest so we do not include them with the rental. The age and condition of the items vary so we encourage guests to bring their own. If you would like to coordinate delivery of beach rental equipment so it is at the house prior to your arrival.

Great place to stay

We loved the house and our stay on Harbor island. This was our 4th time staying on Harbor island and my wife said this was her favorite house out of all of them. The new golf cart was great to get around on. We also used the Hunting island pass. We gave this 5 stars, the house and view is great. The beds and furniture are not the most comfortable but that was ok with us because we didn’t want to spend our vacation sitting in the house. Getting in the gate was a little bit of a problem a few times due to having to call the guard house every time to get in, It would be nice if they would give you a temporary code.

Perfect Summer Vacation!

We have stayed at this home for our past 2 summer vacations. Look No Further!!! This is the perfect home to help you enjoy all Harbor Island has to offer. The sunset views from the porch are amazing. This home is clean, comfortable and cozy. There was more than enough room. The golf cart was an added bonus. My family especially enjoyed a golf cart ride each evening to see all the wildlife. Mia was wonderful to work with and provided so much information to us before and during our trip. I have never met her but I feel like I know her so well. That personal touch is something that is hard to find these days. I highly recommend this home for your summer vacation.

Family vacation

This house is beautiful and the view on both porches is amazing! The house was clean and the golf cart was a huge bonus. The bedroom with the trundle bed was a trundle bed with another mattress on the floor, which was less than desirable. The towels were super thin and only 2 towels per room for the entire week and only 1 hand towel for the kitchen was provided. The summary states there is an outdoor closet with beach chairs and a grill but all the outdoor closets were locked. The kicker on Harbor Island is they charge you for each car that you bring and your boat but that is not in the original summary. Other than that, the house and the subdivision were wonderful, well equipped, plenty of space and very comfortable. The outdoor shower is large and a great added bonus.

Our little piece of paradise

The house was big enough for 6 adults, plus more. It was very spacious. Just a few things that we came across. The beds were VERY HARD! it was like sleeping on the floor. There are no curtains in the bedroom. So if you like to be woken up at the break of dawn, or woken up by the headlights of cars coming down the bridge at night, this house is for you. The AC was broken, but it was fixed. It took awhile to cool the upstairs down. The furniture in the living room is a futon and wicker chairs. Definitely not very comfortable! There are no curtains in the living room causing a glare on the tv. In the master bedroom we tried to charge our phones but for some reason the outlets didnt work by the bed. The headboard seemed as though it was not attached to the bed. Every little move the headboard would hit the wall. On a brighter note. The golf cart was nice and big! The house had great views. It was very clean. Although we had a great time, i dont think we would stay here again.

This house was beautiful. Fully decorated with awesome decor. We loved the balconies and having bathrooms for everyone. The location was nice. We were very disappointed with the furniture in the living room. There was one sofa and then all wicker chairs and settee. Very uncomfortable. There was no lounging in the living room at the end of the day. TV reception or channel selections were not good either. We preferred Hunting Island Beach over Harbor Island Beach. Harbor Island had mild waters where Hunting has waves for the kids. Overall, we would stay again.

Great House

We had a great time staying at this property! We were able to fish and catch some keepers. Having the golf cart was convenient and easy rides to the pool and beach accesses. The neighbors were nice and friendly. Thank you for helping us make memories with our family!

Amazing Beach Getaway !

Our family of 5 kiddos, my husband and myself, and a family member took a trip to Harbor Island and fell in love with this house!! It’s so cute and has a fun beach atmosphere. Clean, orderly, just about anything you’d need is all there! I really enjoyed the stay and honestly the only downside was that the house was set away from the beach so it would have been a long walk to get there. BUT there was a fantastic 6 seater golf cart that was provided and made the trek to the beach much easier. Definitely recommend this house!

Wonderful

This house was great size for 7 adults and a child it could of even fit more comfortably. The decor is wonderful, bright and cheery, and my 3 year old grandson spent a lot of time trying to count the fish decorations. The amenities were everything you could think of! Just had to look! Golf cart was great for getting to the beach and pool, as well as an evening ride. We had a great time! Thank you so much!

Nice home will stay again, liked the layout

Pros: - Nice Golf cart - Kitchen had everything needed for cooking - Layout of 4 bedrooms and bathroom, 4 bath total. - Nice looking home - Issue with tub not draining was fixed within 1 day of reporting - Internet was good to bring our streaming TV box as we use at home. - Washer/dryer so we didn't need to pack as much Cons / Suggestions (keep in mind we'd stay here again and have rented many homes in harbor island) - Would prefer a more comfortable bed, matress is extremely hard (both beds on first floor, kids beds are ok) - Would prefer 1 bed being king sized - Don't know if this is new, but when we stayed in the pink house next door a few years ago they gave us a code to the gate. This stay we had to wait on security to open the gate for every golf cart or car ride. Sometimes they don't answer for minutes or requires a 2nd 2 minute call to answer (up to 4 minute wait time, mostly the gate was opened in about 1 minute). This was annoying throughout the trip, also would be bad sitting there if late and mosquitos on the golf cart.

Beautiful marsh views

This house was really fantastic. The decor was colorful and kitschy, and the house was clean. The views of the sunset from the balcony were amazing. The house has all of the bedding and kitchen items that we needed. There was also a good stock of games, DVDs and books. The golf cart was a great addition, and we took full advantage of the Hunting Island pass! The house is an easy drive by cart to the beach, crabbing spots and the resort amenities.

Beautiful House and Great Vacation

Everything was just as described. We truly enjoyed every minute of our vacation. This is the first time vacationing in this part of SC and we loved it. The home was fabulous! The balconies that over look the lagoon and bay are wonderful and a great place to read and watch the Shrimp boats in the mornings. We even had a visit from Mr. Alligator in the lagoon our first night. We say many rabbits running around each night. While on the beach one day we enjoyed watching 10-15 dolphins as they made their way around the point. We were able to participate in the Pancake breakfast the first Sunday that we were there it was at the community center. We were down during the 4th of July were able to see enjoy the golf cart parade. Check in and Check out was a breeze. We will definitely put this one as a one to come back to in the future.

Spring break 2019

The house was wonderful! The lay out was wonderful! The only concerns were our keys wasn’t dropped off til the next day so we lost a day on golf cart and couldn’t get in storgeage for chairs, air pump etc. The master bed rooms mattresses were very hard but a quick trip to Walmart for mattress topper sleep was much better! The pots and pans were rusted and had to buy aluminum pans for dinner again just another quick trip to Walmart. But over all the house was wonderful and looking forward to visiting again

My Second Favorite Place in the World

My favorite place is my hollow in West Virginia. This particular home in Harbor Island is a close second! I have been here twice now and its beauty and serenity warms my soul. This last time I shared it with my lifelong friends of 40 years and my daughter and her children. Seriously, there is nothing better than sitting on the upper veranda watching the gorgeous sunsets every evening! I took enough photos to wallpaper a room! The accommodations, colors, decorative items and art give it such a wonderful local flavor it's hard to lock the door and leave. You would not want for anything! Whether heading to Hunting Beach, a hop skip and a jump down the road or visiting the Sound and its beach by golf cart, one can't go wrong. The information Mia provided us gave options for restaurants, shopping, local sight seeing and books of the history and geography of the environs. I'm fascinated by the Gullah people that made this area their home. There are plenty of spaces for walking and bicycling and for children to run free. This year we took an hour drive to visit Savannah. I would be remiss if I didn't thank our hosts Mia and Bob for such an amazing vacation! You made everything easy. If anyone is thinking of traveling to this beautiful part of the country I can't possibly recommend this home any more highly! Get away from the commerciality and crowded beaches of Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head. Come to Harbor Island and Beaufort where history and nature are center stage! Let Mia know and she'll make the wheels turn for a vacation home that is one of a kind!

Perfect 70th Birthday!

I've been coming to HI since I was 8 years old as we own a condo on the island. This weekend was my mother in law's 70th birthday (and father in law's birthday, as they share the same birthday) and my sister in law and her family drove up from Florida and we drove in from Greenville. We needed a place to house all ten of us and Mia's BEAUTIFUL home was perfect for us for the weekend. Everything we could have ever thought of was there; the pictures don't do the home justice. Even though it was cold, we were able to fish, cruise around (bundled up) on the golf cart, play games, cook and enjoy each other's company comfortably. Mia was MORE than thorough and available at the drop of a dime if we had what questions. We think we have started a new family tradition for the matriarch and patriarch's birthday weekend. It was PERFECT! Thank you so much, Mia. You truly are the best hostess I've ever dealt with on VRBO!

Short get away for golf outing.

My friends and I thouroughly enjoyed our brief but wonderful stay in your beautiful home. Arrangements could not have been easier, thanks to you, Mia, and your very helpful tips and seeing to every detail. Loved the comfort of the home and art work and decor are so nice. Gorgeous views and scenery, especially the sunsets!! We would happily recommend your home to anyone looking far a comfortable vacation spot. Thank you again.

3rd time for our vacation here

My family just finished our 3rd vacation here at this beautiful home. It appears my grandkids don't want to go anywhere else. :-) Bikes of all sizes to use, a limo golf cart, chairs, toys, beach towels, are all there, so we dont have to pack them. The Owners have always been so helpful with anything we needed. Just a call or text away, and they answered right away. You won't find a better owner to work with, hands down. The view from this home on Harbor Island can't be matched for the sunset view, and the wildlife. We saw Mr Al E. Gator nearly everyday in the lagoon under the decks and saw a couple of others just sunning themselves in random places on the island. If you're a Bird-watcher, you won't be dissappointed as well. We got the book out on birds (that was on the table in the living area) and tried to match the birds as we watched them from the decks. Kiddo's on the third floor with their own Bathroom, while the adults got the second floor to themselves. It was relaxing and there was plenty of room. The colors are coastal, and inviting. We have always felt right at home in this beautiful home. The ocean side is just a 5 min golf cart ride, and the kids rode their bikes all over the island. My husband and I fished most evenings in the 'sound'. Never did run out of stuff to do, but its the best "unplugged" week, where I make the kiddo's put down their cell phones, tablets, and video games and spend quality time doing what families should do. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, and my grandkids start asking a month after we get back, if we're going back next year.

Great Vacation Home & Location

What a great vacation home! We had 3 couples in the house and there was more than enough room for us. The decks are fantastic and we enjoyed the sunsets every evening. Mia (owner) did a fantastic job of sending us information in advance and the house is filled with useful information regarding things to do and places to eat. We ate out every night and every meal was fantastic! We had fun with the golf cart (which held all of us) seeing all of the different homes and exploring the different beaches. We spent one day at the community pool which was quite nice and spent the rest of the time at Hunting Island beach right up the street (having the passes from the house was great!). It was a public beach so it had bathrooms and was not too crowded. The sand is deep and the water was perfect. Great house with lots of amenities included, the owners are so welcoming, open and available for questions at any time and the community is very nice. All in all, it was a fantastic time!

Best VRBO experience yet!

My family (4 adults, 3 children) had a wonderful time at 115 Harbor Key. The owner is extremely helpful and attentive; I've used VRBO to rent quite a few houses over the years and this was honestly the best experience I've had. The owner took the time to make a personal connection with us, answering all of our questions before and during our stay and even making special recommendations for restaurants, activities, and more. The house is beautifully decorated and has every amenity you could imagine. The passes to Hunting Island were a great addition, since we love the state park's beaches and went there almost every day (a HUGE savings with the passes!). The porches offer a beautiful view, especially at dawn and dusk--we even got some gorgeous photos from a lightning storm one night! The kids loved riding the bikes around the island and seeing the alligator who came to visit one evening in the canal. The golf cart fit all 7 of us easily and we enjoyed evening rides around the island. All in all, it was a wonderful and relaxing week!

Wonderful location - Great Views

The house was fantastic. We came down from Virginia for my sons graduation from Marine Corps basic training and the house was perfect for friends and family to gather and reconnect. It was a 20 min drive to MCRD, very easy, it took longer to get the thru main gate than it did to get there. The Large well stocked kitchen made cooking "real" meals a breeze. The living room area was where everyone spent most of the time, just sitting and talking, and looking out the windows at the terrific views. Unfortunately the weather was very cold the week we were there, 19 degrees one night with 40 mph winds - BRRRRR, but that didnt affect our stay one bit. Several of us did use the golf cart on one of the warmer afternoons to do a little exploring at the complex beaches. I would love to come back here when the weather is just a little warmer and spend some quality down time. Thanks so much for a great place to stay.

Quiet unplugged times, with coffee and a great view.

This was our 2nd stay at this house this year. The first time this summer we brought the kids and grandkids, and had the best time. This time we decided to come for our anniversary trip again. Our favorite thing to do was sitting on the 2nd balcony, drinking coffee, while watching the shrimp boats and different types of birds. We never got tired of watching the sunset from there, but found we liked the sunrise just as well, as it changed the colors in the sky while it was rising on the other side of the island. The owners are ever helpful and so easy to work with and the home is colorful and welcoming as always. This is a great place to unwind from the world, and reconnect with those you love. Its all the little things that make the difference here.

Perfect Summer Vacation!

This is probably the best home we have ever rented from VBRO. This listing is written very well to describe the home but it surpassed our expectations! We have vacationed at at several low country beaches in SC and Harbor Island is our favorite. Quiet, family friendly, amazing water and wildlife views! This home was perfect for our family. Plenty of space, very clean, owners offering the use of a wonderful golf cart, passes to Hunting Island State Park, lots of beach items, bikes etc... Mia was very helpful. She gave us so many pieces of insightful information about the island, things to do nearby and even told us where to see baby turtles leave the nest to head out to sea. That was a once in a lifetime event for us! If you want a reasonably priced vacation home with everything you could possibly need for the week...this is it! I highly recommend this island and home to anyone!
