About this property
Charming Lake Champlain
Charming is an understatement when describing this remodeled and perfectly located lake house on 3 flat acres. The original house was completely remodeled and a contemporary addition added in 2018. The house lends itself to extended family and friends as there are 3 bedrooms plus a den, each with it's own private bath. The inviting chef's kitchen has top of the line Thermador appliances and local Vermont marble countertops. There is a large farm table in the dining room which can comfortably seat 8. My favorite room in the house is the screened in porch. There is a large dining table as well as an oversized porch swing for curling up with a book and a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening while enjoying the westerly views directly across the lake to the beautiful Adirondacks. There is also a large outdoor deck for entertaining with beautiful teak furniture. The house is wired with a Sonos sound system and wifi and has two Apple TV's. We have fallen in love with the town of Vergennes which is a short 10 minute drive away. There are many delicious restaurant options to choose from as well as shops that specialize in Vermont products. The college town of Middlebury is a 25 minute drive and Burlington is 45 minutes. The Basin Harbor Club is 7 miles up Lake Drive, or a short boat ride from the dock or deep water mooring. The Champlain Bikeway is right outside the door which provides world class road and gravel biking. There is also great hiking at Snake Mountain Trail Head which is a 10 minute drive from the house.
Water activities are easily accessed down the stairs to the lake where we have a dock and deep water mooring. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off after an active day.
There is a lake side fire pit for evening cocktails and watching the sunset over the lake and Adirondacks. There is a grass landing strip next door but we are not aware of any active use (we have never seen a plane).
