Yellowstone Cabin Near Wolves and Wildlife

Bedrooms 1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

Charming, recently built cabin with one bedroom and loft. Perfect for travelers who want easy access to Yellowstone Park's fabled Lamar Valley with its bison, elk, deer - and yes, wolves!

Located just minutes from the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park, our guests enjoy fabulous recreation opportunities, both in the Park and in the surrounding Beartooth Mountains and wilderness. Fly fishing opportunities abound in streams, rivers, and alpine lakes. Non-winter visitors can access the unbelievable Beartooth Pass via what Charles Kuralt once described as 'the most beautiful drive in America.' And for winter visitors there is unbeatable backcountry and cross-country skiing.

The cabin features gorgeous hardwood floors, tiled kitchen counters, a clawfoot tub/shower, and a cozy wood stove. We provide ample firewood, but the cabin also has (yet never needs) supplemental heat. The first floor bedroom has a magnificent queen-size high bed, and the loft sports two log beds, one queen-size and one single. There is also a trundle bed. We provide fresh linens upon your arrival.

You will not find a nicer place within sixty miles!

Yellowstone Cabin Near Wolves and Wildlife
average rating of 4.9722223 based on 36 reviews

Comfortable, warm, well appointed cabin in an incredibly convenient location for Yellowstone stay.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is adorable! Great layout with high ceilings and gorgeous windows. The owners thought of every little touch to make this feel like it is yours during your stay. Super well stocked with everything you need including ample bedding, pots/pans/dishes, spices, fire starter and fire wood. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a great Yellowstone gateway location. We stayed four nights and five days and saw moose, bison, elk, deer, antelope, mountain goats, big horn sheep, black bear, grizzly bear, wolves, coyote, marmot, chipmunk, pika, fox, osprey, trumpeter swan, golden eagle, western tanager, raven, owls. The cabin is the perfect home base so you can visit the park early in the morning and later evening for maximal animal viewing.

Owners were extremely responsive and kept in good communication. Expectations were well communicated and they have clearly thought of all your needs for your stay.

If you are looking for a great place to stay during your American safari experience, this is it!

Nice Cabin!

  • 4 of 5

Cooke City is a charming, quiet tiny town just outside of Yellowstone and the Two Rib cabin is cozy retreat with plenty of room for 4 guests (we had 5 with no problem but that pushes the limit with only one bathroom). It is clean, well appointed, and the owner is very helpful and responsive.

Easy access to the quieter, less travelled part of Yellowstone was a plus for us. Less traffic, more wildlife, plenty of hiking and other outdoor activity within easy driving distance.

If you want plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, 100 cable channels and shopping stay in Jackson. This is mountain living - there is internet and there are a couple bars and restaurants nearby, but not much else other than nice trees, a mountain view and a babbling brook running outside the deck. Hopefully, like me, you don't see that as a problem!

beatiful and full of amenities

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay here in Cooke City. The home is beautiful and was fully stocked to meet all of our needs. We skied right out the door, yet it is right in town. We enjoyed the woodfired stove at night. It was perfect for our family of four on a weekend getaway!

Winter wonderland

  • 5 of 5

Super location walking distance to Cooke City restaurants .yet tucked away in secluded private setting. Extremely well maintained with ample heat during winter. When we return to Cooke City this is where we'll stay. Owners are attentive to detail, ecology and their guests comfort.

Perfect cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Great clean , comfortable, good location, and very well stocked cabin. Perfect spot at end of Cooke city, walk to town, but still wooded enough for privacy. 20 minutes to ranger station in Lamar valley to watch wildlife. The cabin has only one bathroom but plenty of hot water for 5 showers! Washer and dryer was a plus for traveling family of 5. Kitchen has everything needed for fixing meals and we did several evenings. Seen deer most every day from bedroom window in mornings. Lamar valley is our favorite spot in Yellowstone. Bear, wolves, bison, coyotes, pronghorn....we saw it all! Moose right outside Silvergate too! What a great trip.

Beautiful mountain digs!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Two Rib cabin for a week and couldn't be happier with this cute place! It's furnished beautifully and the open concept of the downstairs is very nice and well appointed, plus...the place was spotless when we walked in. The loft bedroom was where we stayed and we were very comfortable there. The beds and pillows were comfy too. We sat out on the deck a few nights and had margaritas before our dinner. The cabin is right on the Beartooth Pass so there is a little traffic but the cabin is set back far enough so that you don't really notice it.

We really LOVED the little town of Cooke City! It's so laid back and everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. We went to The Cabin for a few meals and just loved it! The Beartooth Cafe is a must and so is the Bearclaw Bakery.

The northeast entrance to Yellowstone is only a few miles away so we were able to do the loop through Yellowstone into the Grand Tetons. There's plenty of wildlife along the way. We saw Pronghorns, Bison, Coyotes, Eagles, Elk, and our last day there we finally saw a moose. Never saw any bear or wolves though but they probably saw us! The first morning of our stay we were walking down the steps of the cabin and when we looked up there was a bison in the driveway of Two Rib cabin. WHOA! Needless to say we were a little startled to say the least! We also drove to Red Lodge via the Beartooth Highway. Stunning AND scary at times but we just loved it!!

You really CANNOT find a nicer place to stay in Cooke City! Lilly was so helpful when we had questions and the packet she sent us via email was so easy to understand what was expected of us. One thing we feel needs clarification though is that the TV provided is for playing DVD's only. There is no reception from cable, satellite or antenna. This wasn't stated until we got the packet from Lilly a few weeks before our arrival. It didn't bother us but some people it might.

Thank you so much for sharing your place with us Lilly and Jack. We still miss it and it's been a few weeks since we left Two Rib cabin. This was by far our best vacation yet!
