Great Get Away!

Nice, clean house. Super AC! Had issues getting gas grill to work. Finally gave up. Realized dishwasher didn't work first morning we were there. It was full of dirty dishes from previous guest. Contacted management. The "local team" never reached out or corrected issue. Spent trip hand washing dishes for family of 6. Kind of a bummer. Nice pool area but the lounge chairs were all pretty much rusted out. So be careful sitting in those. The listing seems intentionally vague on 3rd bedroom. It is separate from main house. So if travelling with young children, 3rd bedroom is not able to be utilized. Ate oysters in Eastpoint. Really enjoyed the beaches. Visited Cape San Blas as well. Beautiful and laid back.

Great home ( not a vacasa fan)

The property and location were great. Any communication with the rental company was next to impossible. Propane tank was empty and after trying to contact the company for over an hour we just filled it ourself( paid for a tank to grill twice). Don’t list it as an amenity if it’s not readily available. Wifi was weak which we were warned about before coming down but could not connect the TVs in the bonus room or master bedroom. Loved the house. Loved the beach. Great family and pup friendly environment. First trip to port st joes and will not be our last.

Convenient location and good communication

There were some issues, but most of them were addressed quickly by the property manager. The backyard hadn't been mowed in weeks, which might not be that much of an issue, but if you're bringing a dog, it's something you should be aware of. Also be aware the wood deck by the pool is rough. My kids got splinters in their feet multiple times. The property and location were good, but a little fine-tuning would make it great. Property manager was A+.

Review

Thank you to Ashley for getting us in a day early we are sooo appreciative!! The house however was dirty. Shower curtains had mold and mildew. The kitchen was dirty and appliances were in rough condition. The dishwasher was not attached to wall and the coffee maker leaked. There were bugs in the kitchen sink and floors. The house is cute but was very dirty and that was a disappointment. Also the mattresses are old and should be replaced.

Only portions of property are “pet friendly”

You listed property as “pet friendly” and yet do not allow pets in the fenced in pool area. This area was the main reason we rented this property and we were unable to utilize it due to your no pet policy. I feel that in the future this needs to be made clear from the start! My dog is a member of my family and I wouldn’t even entertain the idea of leaving him in your house on his own while I enjoyed the outdoor patio area. That to me is unacceptable! Also the house and cooking utensils definitely could have been cleaner.

Likes and dislikes

The bad: We received the door code by text, unfortunately, it did not specify that it was for the door upstairs. It took us several phone calls to actually get into the house. The pool, which was the reason we picked this house, had two bandages in the pool. It was very upsetting being that we had two children that were looking forward to swimming. The pool skimmer’s netting was torn off so we couldn’t clean the pool. We called for two days trying to get the property manager to have someone come clean the pool. The pool lady showed up on her own, because of regular routine cleaning, not because the manager had called her in so who knows how long it would have taken to get this handled otherwise. Above all, we were very upset to have lost two days of swimming and that the manager did not get the issue handled in a timely manner. The toilet in the master bathroom runs and you have to work on it after each use. This has been a complaint before but apparently has not been fixed. The good: The location was excellent. It was a very short walk to the beach. You have a Dollar General and gas station close by. The rooms are roomy, front porch is nice and pool area is amazing. All in all, we would definitely stay here again. The owners just need to fix a few minor things and the property manager needs to be more responsive.

Great house - when the power and internet worked

The house itself was quite nice. Excellent location to the beach. I booked mostly because of the private pool and outside area. It would be great to entertain with if you had large family/friends with you. This is why I gave two stars instead of one. Couldn't give more than that because of the electrical issues. When I first arrived the internet and the tv went out and caused the power to flicker around the house. Two different service people came by to troubleshoot. They were very nice and we got it working (probably a faulty power strip). But it took up a few hours before it was working again. Two days later the power was flickering a lot again, then the oven went out when I tried to cook dinner, then the internet kept restarting, and then the tv sound stopped working. Intermittent wifi and power is completely unacceptable. I had to work later in the week and choose to leave my long-awaited vacation early rather than risk not having power/internet, as well as just from the inconvenience of things not working when they should. Very disappointing. The staff were nice, but that doesn't make up for cutting my vacation in half. Wouldn't recommend this house to anyone, and I had two friends who definitely were interested based on the pictures.

Nice home

Overall we had a nice stay. The home was beautiful in a nice quiet neighborhood with a quick two minute walk to the beach. Our daughter who is in her mid 20’s and her friend really liked the downstairs bedroom. It was more like a separate mini hotel room for them. The beds were very comfortable, and there was a lot of closet space for luggage. The kitchen supplies was well stocked. I had read in a past review that there wasn’t a microwave but they have one now. We did have a few issues. The pool pump was broken and there was no net to skim the pool, the neighbor was nice enough to let us borrow his. We contacted Vacasa on Sunday and they said they would send someone out the next day. A new pool pump had to be ordered so it was finally fixed on Wednesday two days before we were leaving. The gas grill had a full tank of propane but would not get to a high temp, we had to finish off burgers in a pan on the stove because it was taking forever to grill.

cute space...

cute house, super close to the beach and good food. nice space. several lights out, none of the TVs work, including the one outside. landscaping in the rear needs some help. no extra trashcan liners and only 1 dish towel. all of this would be acceptable for a 1night stay, but not for multi-night, multi-person weekend.

Wonderful Experience!

Property exactly as described! Wonderful house that is walking distance to the beach, so close that our family went back and forth multiple times per day! The pool and who fenced in patio area was wonderful and relaxing! We even had a 1 year old puppy with us and it was perfect! Would (and probably will!) stay here again! Lots of good food nearby, Shipwreck Raw Bar just a couple blocks away with great food, service, and prices. Do yourself a favor and stay here! Beautiful property in a beautiful and quiet little town!

Nice and quiet

This house was exactly what we wanted. The pool was perfect, although you can not view the pool at all from upstairs in the main living space. It does need a few little things: some light bulbs were blown, I had to go buy hangers for our clothes to hang in the closet, curtains in bedrooms (they just have blinds so when the sun comes up there is no sleeping in) But we would for sure stay here again! Nice and quiet neighborhood, plenty of room, and the pool and back yard was perfect!!!

Great Getaway

We made a last minute decision to get away and needed somewhere that was pet friendly. This property had everything we needed. Plenty of space, private pool and only a 3-4 minute walk to the beach. It was a wonderful trip and we would stay here again.

Very clean. Kitchen well supplied, Easy access to beach. Thanks for the chairs and wagon for the beach. Even with 78-80 degrees temp the pool was to cold to enjoy, but we enjoyed the patio to sit around,

Wonderful Time

Felt like home! Place does need a good deep cleaning all around including outside. Make sure if your watching TVs in the bedrooms you bring your own streaming sticks and cords. Had a wonderful time, my son especially loved this house.

Great Getaway

The house was perfect for my getaway. Description is accurate. Host is very responsive to questions. The outside pool area is perfect for a family gathering with ample seating area for lounging, sitting at the bar or relaxing on the wicker sofa. Only wish the pool had solar panels to heat the pool, but the pool was enjoyed, even though it was cool. Also, loved the easy walk to the beach to enjoy morning and evening walks and sunsets. Indoor accommodations were perfect. Will definitely be returning in the future. 😊
