Great family place

The large, open living room with adjacent dining room and kitchen make it a great place for family gatherings. The proximity to restaurants and the ferry at the far end of the same street make for nice walks.

Pet friendly! Well stocked! Air conditioning!

Pack your pooch and a duffel because that’s pretty much all you need to bring! This house is stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the close proximity to the North Bayfront and Ruby Beach. Having an AC unit in this house was wonderful! The kitchen is large and stocked for cooking large meals. The owner was quick to respond during our stay.

Great Rental for Multi-generational Family Gathering!

"Excellent Balboa Island rental for multi-generational family gathering. Light, bright, and extremely clean -- with comfortable beds. large living room, and everything in a single level. Well-appointed kitchen with all the necessary tools and appliances. Just a few blocks to the Balboa Island Ferry, and easy 0.4 mile walk to the shops and restaurants on Main Street. Having beach chairs and towels available was a bonus. Would definitely stay there again in the future."

Blessed memories

We enjoyed the beauty of Balboa in this lovely home. Sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee was heaven. With 3 generations of family, there was a lot of activities to enjoy. The house is beautifully decorated and includes everything you might need. Pat, our host, is extremely efficient and easy to work with. We left Balboa with memories to last a lifetime. We highly recommend staying in this charmer! Kathleen Kerger

Evacuation stay

The location of this property is great! The bedding on the beds is poor! There was no heat in the house it was broken the whole week, they should have brought us space heaters! Strangers walk thru the side of the house to get to the ally. The showers are in need of an upgrade!!

Response from VrboOwner on Jan 23, 2025
It is unfortunate there was a problem with the furnace. It was promptly fixed the day she left. We tried to schedule having it fixed while she was there, but she said to wait until she left. If she chose to leave because of the problem, we would have refunded her immediately, but not only did she choose not want to leave, she extended her stay an extra day. I assume her complaint about the beds was because she wanted more comforters which we of course supplied. My maintenance man was there twice and said on both days they had the doors wide open during the day so the dogs could come and go, but of course it does get cooler at night. If she had asked for space heaters, we would have supplied them. My guests before her gave a 5-star review, as do most of our guests. It was unfortunate the furnace was not working, but it has definitely been fixed. Showers are as shown in the photos. To my knowledge, no one walks along the side of the house to get to the alley except tenants.

Great spot

This property was perfect for our little family reunion-4 adults and a toddler. The house is comfortable and well appointed, and the location cannot be beat - steps to a small beach, easy walk to a charming town, and the ferry to the Newport Peninsula is at the other end of the street, a 5 minute walk. There is a Mexican restaurant a block away that is perfect for a quick bite, coffee, happy hour, etc. Balboa Island is just lovely, albeit thickly settled, and there is a boardwalk that circles the island that we enjoyed walking. The owner was very responsive when we had a small issue with the lighting, answered questions promptly, and kept us posted about possible detours due to construction. All in all, highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay! The home was perfect for our family, especially with an 18-month-old. We were so appreciative of all the thoughtful touches for little ones, including a crib, toys, books, and even toddler-friendly plates and utensils. It made traveling with a toddler so much easier. The location couldn't have been better - just a few doors down from the beach and within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and everything Balboa Island has to offer. The house was also very well stocked with beach essentials, including chairs, towels, and toys, so we didn't have to worry about bringing or renting anything. We especially loved the spacious living room with its large, comfortable couch - it was the perfect place for everyone to relax together.Pat has clearly put a lot of care into making this a welcoming, family-friendly home. We made wonderful memories here and hope to stay again in the future. Highly recommend!
