House un the big woods

Beautiful area, nice layout. Close to Yosemite and drive to Sequoia NPS was reasonable. We found extra things to do for days off sightseeing with 4 kids: movie, swimming, etc. A mouse in the hiuse did give a few a scare, though ;-)

Mini trip before school starts

Home accommodated our family. Big problem — checked in and found housekeeping was NOT scheduled prior to our stay. Need towel racks for one master bedroom and wall hooks for clothes due to no closet or hangers. This was resolved and our family had a nice stay.

“Times of refreshing from the Lord.”

We were part of a larger group from our church Calvary Chapel East Anaheim holding their All Church Camp at the Sugar Pine Christian Camp Grounds just a mere mile away. Although we were technically outside the camp, we were close enough to fellowship with our family of God. The accommodations were exceptional and the surrounding area was spectacular declaring the glory of the Lord. Lord willing, ☝ TEAMJESUS ☝ will be visiting and lodging at this beautiful property again and again! Praise Jesus!

Family get together.

We had a great time at this property and it was everything advertised. Great location that felt very secluded in the forest, with all of the modern amenities and very clean. Close to the south entrance to Yosemite and the Sugar Pine Railroad. It’s also within walking distance of the Lewis Creek Trail, which is about a 4 mile hike through the forest with a few water falls along the way. We only had to contact the host once and she replied right away, she provides detailed information about the cabin which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this cabin if you’re looking for something that feels secluded but isn’t too far off the grid.

The place was great.. the location was just what we expected.

The property is as awesome.. BUT we could have used a check in book .. We could not turn the lights on in the master bedroom and had trouble with the T.V.’s We couldn’t turn the outside light on and wish we had more seating outside.. beautiful location.. Please provide more towels! There wasn’t enough for a family of four. Overall it was a wonderful experience! The bed in the master bedroom was insanely great.. Wish we could have said that about every bed. No hot water in the bathroom upstairs.. Thank you so much!

Not bad

The house for the bill for 6 adults and 2 kids. Housekeeping could have been better, numerous spider webs. Lighting was an issue, as vanity lights in master bath didn’t work. Water pressure coukd have been better. Neighborhood was a little questionable.

Jackie, Thank you for your review. Our neighborhood is not question, Our cabin is located in the Sugar Pine community. Upon your arrival, we received numerous messages late at night, which we assumed you were letting out some steam from a stressful day after you let us know you checked-In in 4 hours late and your car broke down. Least to say, we had a very difficult time pleasing you and felt disrespected. In addition, we had to keep contact with you every day of your stay regarding the smallest details that are in our welcome guide and the lights, which are labeled. Spiders webs are cleaned weekly but being in the forest, it’s bond to happen. A forest is not a home to only humans. There are critters like spiders, flies, mosquitoes, bears, frogs etc. Regarding lighting, we aren’t too sure what your comment means however all lights are labeled as mentioned. Water pressure is standard as well, we have our own well with purified creek water this was also not mentioned during your stay. We would have hoped to receive much better feedback from your stay due to the amount of assistance and communication. We wish you a safe travel back home. Thank you

Could have been better

We booked this property and overall it was a disappointing experience. When we checked into the property the entire home had obviously been recently used and all the sheets/linens were dirty and the home itself was dirty. Apparently the cleaning company hadn’t come before our stay. We were unable to get this cleaned until the following day so had to wash our own sheets and towels. The next day the cleaning company came so we had to leave the property for an extended period of time. Despite 3 hours of “cleaning” there were still obvious things that were still dirty- including the tub, floors, plates windows and light fixtures. Things within the home were dusty and huge cobwebs went up to the ceiling. The design of this cabin is great however the execution is poor. There were holes in the ceilings, many of the lights throughout the home either don’t work or are missing light switches and the wood burning stove is unusable. A grill was available on the property however no propane was in the tank. Also despite being in the woods, there were no flash lights. I wish it was overall a better experience. We also felt like communication with the host was poor.

Sugar Pine CA house

We found the house to be very clean & comfortable for 4 “60-something” adults. There is a creek near the house & one guest especially enjoyed sitting on the back deck listening to the water, after a day of hiking. Oakhurst was within 20 minutes for supplies & Yosemite park entrance nearest Mariposa Grove was equally close. The house is in a small community & the roads in need to be travelled carefully, but you get used to it after a time or 2 in & out.

Sugar pine cabin

We absolutely loved this cabin. Everything about it was awesome. Surrounding the house there was a bunch of redwoods, we loved the footbridge over the creek and sitting there on the deck was so peaceful. The house was very close to the Yosemite entrance, we would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!

Lovely Setting-Comfortable Home

Wished we'd had more time to enjoy the house but we were pulled by trying to see as much as possible at Yosemite. The house was close to the park so was very convenient. My husband and I stayed with our three sons, ages 18, 21 & 24. We were all very comfortable in our own rooms (the boys had to draw straws for who got the second master suite). Was a little awkward for the two other boys to have to go upstairs to use the bathroom, but otherwise the layout of the house suited us fine. The sound of the brook in the back was so relaxing. The kitchen was lacking in a couple of necessities such as potholders and a colander and the barbeque was out of propane. The boys had trouble figuring out the hot water in the shower and it was a tad awkward that there is no door on the master bath. But it all just gave us something to laugh about. And I wish I had time to relax in the hammock swings. Enjoyed coffee one ,morning on the deck. If only we had one more day just to relax here - - but then again the boys would have wanted to go out and explore more. But if we were to ever return to the area we would certainly consider staying in this lovely home. Thanks.

1st Family Vacation

We had a great time at this cabin, most mirrors weren't clean and had lip kisses all over the mirror and the fridge was leaking (which I let them know and they did tell me they had someone scheduled to go look at it soon) other than those two minor things, my family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin!

Hi Susy, Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the lip stick on the mirror. If we would’ve been notified of this during your stay we would have most definitely contacted our cleaners for another clean during your stay, but unfortunately this is the first we time we hear about this and we’re sadden to see the one star lost due to this. However, we are glad that you all still had a wonderful time

Great stay!

Property was as advertised in pictures. Priscilla was very helpful in guiding us during snowy conditions. The area around the house is also pretty — the brook and bridge were in particular very picturesque. We were a multi-generational family that really enjoyed our stay!!

Great Stay in Near Yosemite

We had a fantastic stay here. We were literally 15 minutes away from the gate to Yosemite. The place was very comfortable and had many items for our stay, plus it was a short drive into town for anything else we needed. The host was really responsive and helpful. We loved waking up to the sound of the stream near the house and enjoyed cooking dinners and breakfast. The light switches were a little tricky to figure out, but nothing that detracted from our stay.

A Beautiful Place to Reconnect

This place is a gem. It's the type of property that makes you consider changing plans to just stay at the cabin and enjoy the sounds of water from the creek and trees all around. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our long weekend. Plenty of space inside and out, pictures don't compare to seeing it in person. Morning yoga with the sounds of nature, nearby hiking trail, group dinner on the patio, it was all perfect. We enjoyed staying at the cabin just as much if not more than visiting Yosemite, which is only a short drive away. In the end, this place gave us beautiful memories, a relaxing time and the exact experience we hoped to have. Thank you to Priscilla and the family, we'll definitely be back!

Great!

It was a very smooth process all together. The property was very gorgeous and secluded from the little community where it was. There was hiking trails right on the property and there was always something new to look at each day. The pictures of the property were spot on! Just wished it was easier to work the televisions and that the ac worked but luckily the windows let a very good breeze in throughout the day.
