About this property

Mountain Retreat with Something for Everyone

Welcome to Mile High Lodge!

This stunning 6BR/5BA home sits on top of Beech Mountain, with sweeping, long-range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, within walking distance of the Oz Run at Beech Mountain Ski Resort. There is easy access to skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing. Enjoy National Championship mountain bike trails with something for every skill level in the summer. Just a fifteen (15) minute drive away, the Beech Mountain Buckeye Recreation Center offers fantastic hiking and a large playground, along with fishing, canoeing, and paddle boating. Dining on Beech Mountain includes some local favorites like the Mile High Tavern, the Brick Oven Pizzeria, and Alpen Restaurant, to name a few. A few miles down the mountain is the town of Banner Elk, with groceries, gas stations, and shopping.

Two levels of expansive porches provide a 180-degree mountain panorama at Mile High Lodge. Take in views from the private hot tub, or enjoy the outdoor fire pit, with plenty of seating for a family marshmallow roast. Rocking chairs, a swing for the young at heart, an outdoor dining space, and a gas grill complete the decks.

Inside, rustic elegance meets modern convenience! A wall of windows keeps the stunning view as the living room's focal point. There is also a beautiful, wood-burning stone fireplace and a large flat-screen Smart TV to enjoy in the comfy leather seating.

The spacious kitchen has updated stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a gas stovetop, and a large island with seating. There is dining in the kitchen for ten (10), and eight (8) can be seated in the formal dining room.

The master bedroom on the main level has a king-size bed and private access to the back deck, a flat-screen Smart TV, and an ensuite bathroom. This bathroom has a jetted bathtub, dual vanities, and a walk-in, tiled shower. Also on the main level is a shared full bathroom with a tiled, walk-in shower.

Upstairs, two bedrooms with king-size beds share a full bathroom with a combination tub and shower. One of these bedrooms has mountain views, and the other has a large Smart TV. The final room on the upper level is a twin room with an additional twin trundle and twin sleeper sofa, accommodating three (3) total. This room leads into a secret children's nook filled with games, toys, and a TV with rocking seats.

Equipped with every entertainment need, the lower level of Mile High Lodge has a pool table, foosball table, and electronic darts. Three (3) large Smart TVs and an arcade table connect to a BlueTooth LED speaker system. A wet bar and bar seating look out to the incredible mountain view. The theater room has a projector and Surround Sound for a quality viewing experience, along with an X-Box.

Another king-bed suite on this floor has a flat-screen Smart TV, private access to the lower level covered porch, an ensuite bathroom with a jetted tub, a walk-in tiled shower, and two separate vanities. The second bedroom on the lower level is a twin-over-double bunk room with a pull-out twin sofa and a trundle, accommodating five (5) total. This room also has a Smart TV, games, toys, and Dance Dance Revolution. Attached is a full bathroom with a tub and shower combo.

There is parking for up to five (5) vehicles, and the entrance to the home does not have any stairs. Pets are welcome to join in the family fun.

Fabulous
Beautiful location with hiking trails close by. Appliances in kitchen were a challenge the oven and various outlets were unable to be used together. The hot tub was not operable although the property managers tried. This would have been a deal breaker for us when renting if we had known. Great space for multiple families and we would definitely stay again.

Lovely Place in the Clouds
Overall the place is as described. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had all the tools we needed for cooking and the house was well equipped. The hot tub was a nice bonus with the views of the mountains. The movie and game rooms were set up wonderfully. Our large group was allowed to spread out and never felt on top of one another. The only thing that could be improved on was keeping up with the small maintaince items in the home to keep the home stellar.

Bringing the Tribe Together
Great place. Location was fantastic. The views. Wow. Hiking in the morning and pool in the afternoon. With cooking meals every night the kitchen became a little crowded but that's kind of tradition.
