You can’t beat this pristine and isolated (except weekends) beach which is a short walk from Matanzas Inlet. Although theses are older units, many have been totally renovated and are beautiful. Washington Oaks Gardens and St Augustine with all its history and great restaurants are nearby as well.

We had friends stop in to spend a day at the beach with us throughout our week and everyone raved about this more secluded part of the beach, the amenities here, and the spectacular view from the sofa. We love this condo. It’s beautifully decorated and you can tell the owners want their guests to enjoy it too. We’ve been here twice and have already booked for next year. I only wish the master bath had a door on the shower as a personal preference because I’m always cold. See you next year!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was very surprised when I went to renew my week for next year, that contrary to many years tradition, someone had already rented it. Without any warning to me, as far as I knew, someone had rented the unit the last of May for my week, and an additional week for 2025. Turns out any new renter, or an old one wanting to extend their time, can bump a long time renter if he rents for two or more weeks. Not having been given the option of two weeks after 15 years or so renting the unit, I feel the current management really let me down. Ces’t la vie, but I’m really disappointed. Having said that, I’ll be renting an ocean view unit next summer. Summerhouse is the best experience for a family vacation. I’ve been going there for a week in June since 2000. My husband and I would rent one unit for ourselves, and for many years rented one for each of our children and my nieces. They are all grown now, and continue to rent on their own.

I suggest not to clean utility knives and steak knives in the dish washer because when we were getting ready to use them they were rusting, so we didn't use them.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’ve been renting Unit 452 since 2004 or 2005, and renting at Summerhouse every year since since 1999. I waited several years before Unit 452 became available. It’s location is perfect: an end unit close to the steps to the beach, located in the last oceanfront block, which is next to the Matanzas National Park property. It is also directly across the pool. The unit is a spacious two bedroom/two bath on the ground floor, which has access from the parking lot and from the oceanfront patio. It has every convenience you want in a rental unit, and the new owners have done an amazing job in renovations and decor. It is an absolutely delightful place to spend your summer vacation!Summerhouse caters to families, and that creates a marvelous environment for children to have incredible freedom, under the eyes of caring parents, grandparents, and in my extended family, great grandparents. It’s a wonderful testimony that our children, and now some grandchildren with their own families have become Summerhouse regulars renting their own units. My husband died in 2013, and our Summerhouse vacation had become his favorite. So, I almost have a sense of ownership about this unit, which I have now rented for 18 consecutive years. God willing, I’ll be back next year!

It is so nice when we walk into the condo and everything has recently been updated. No dirty carpet or old bed etc. Just a safety hint. Due to the disinfecting, the floor of the shower was very slick when I stepped in to shower. We went to Walmart and purchased a shower mat to use to prevent a fall. Otherwise best condo we've stayed in for years.! Thank you!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I had stayed at a end unit flat next to the pool because I just had surgery and part of my rehab was daily swimming. My second day of my vacation management closed the pool without warning, I'm unable to walk further than a few yards because of my surgery so the other pools were not an option because of parking. Management not only didn't warn me about the pool closing, they lied about why it was closed and changed the reason each day and how long it was going to be closed each day. I asked for compensation or partial reimbursement, I was denied. My family and I have been coming there on and off for almost 50 years, I didn't appreciate the non accommodations!! Might stay at Sand Dollar from now on.

Gayle and partners, made me feel like a “Summerhouse member” and not an irritating “renter”.. Her reception and assistance guided us and now other family members to return more than once and linger over next year .. This type of reception is what brings folks backs If a problem exist, front desk to assist in resolving.Folks come via plane and cannot fix issues .But knowing there is “help”, as in the case of the employees, we feel safer.. Thank you all..
