Beautiful, secluded getaway!
We had such a relaxing time at the Carson's cabin. The cabin is very private. After a day of beach hopping, it was so nice to retreat to this beautiful property. The Carson's are so welcoming and were readily available for anything we needed. We will definitely be coming back! It was a trip of a lifetime.
Great place to get away from sounds of other people and machines. Rustic & self-contained
Private area, with hot tub. Liked stretching food dollars by doing some of our own meals in the kitchen. The cabin lies 1/2 way up the mountain about 15-20 minutes from the Kona airport so temperatures are better than hot and sweaty down by shore. For some cooler nights there is an electric blanket for the comfortable queen bed. We enjoyed the wood stove a few nights. Need rental car to access and serves as a great base to go out from and explore the island. The owner lives close by and has a dozen chickens which provided great entertainment. Lovely to hear bird song by day and crickets or frogs by night!
Great, quiet secluded getaway
This cabin is at 2, 700 ft up the mountain above Kona. Much cooler than down at sea level which makes it really nice to escape the heat. A note to scuba divers. We had planned on doing some diving here on the island, but due to the elevation of the cabin at 2700 ft. It would require 18hrs at zea level to deco safely. So we passed on the scuba diving but did do the Manta night snorkeling trip. Awesome experience with 29 mantas that evening. This cabin is perfect for those wanting to escape the big hotels and hustle and noisy towns. This was are little slice of heaven for a week. Would give this cabin getaway a A+ or 10 out of 10. Thank you Scott and Caroline for sharing you awesome retreat. Kelly and Sherri / Denver, Colorado
The cabin in the forest.
We're delighted with the "cabin in the forest". We wanted a place that was "isolated" and this fits the bill. It sits, hidden away, on the main house's 5 acre lot and is packed with amenities. We made use of the kitchen, hot tub, washer/dryer and fast internet. Our goal was to find a cute little hideaway and this is it. The back of the cabin is up against the "woods". The cabin has a loft bed but our opinion is that the cabin is best for two. Caroline and Scott, the owners, made us feel welcome and we certainly will be back.
Up up in the mountains....
Fabulous setting, can't say enough about the hosts/owners..very kind and friendly people! The cabin is a must stay.. You can escape the heat and humidity of Kailua but just be minutes away ..close to stores and shopping , great central location to explore the BI. Or you can just stay on the mountain and enjoy the peace & quiet, visiting with the "girls" ala 🐓. Can't say enough ..we loved it!! Thanks Carolyn and Scott !
8 miles from Kailua-Kona airport, 40 mins to Waimea/Parker Ranch, 30 mins to City of Refuge, 2 hours to Volcano National Park.
