About Paul Catanzaro

Paul and Kay live upstairs from these one bedroom Suites. Paul was born in Providence, Rhode Island, Kay was born in Guildford, Surrey, England and emigrated to the US with two other girlfriends, when she finished school. Paul and Kay met in Manhattan Beach, California. They went to Hawaii on their honeymoon and decided to live in Hawaii.

Paul Catanzaro purchased this house in 1984

Why Paul Catanzaro chose Keauhou

This property has a beach public right of way bordering the east property line. This 'right of way' gives access to the beach on a 100' paved walkway.

What makes this house unique

This property is located on He'eia Bay which is right next to Keauhou Bay. He'eia Bay is a popular surf spot in the winter months and is known by the local surfers as H Bay. In the summer it is also a good dive spot, and enjoyed by many night divers and spear fishermen. Keauhou bay which is two blocks from our home has charter boats, kayaking, canoeing, famous manta ray dive boats etc. The local grocery store "KTA", is also two blocks away in the Keauhou Shopping Center.

A Magical Experience! Great touching stone in Kona!

  • 5 of 5

The place was in an amazing location! The cove that this house overlooked was beautiful and very peaceful. The accommodations were just perfect! Great outdoor shower and very comfortable bed in the East wing. Kay and Paul were very nice people and gave us privacy. They provided us but with some flippers and beach equipment (cooler, chairs, and umbrella) that was very helpful. Couldn't say enough good things about this place. Mahalo!

Great spot to share with friends

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a week with my wife in one unit with my best friend and his wife staying in the other unit. Could not have asked for more. To say the location is ideal is an understatement. Having coffee in the morning with the view of the small bay is what a vacation is about. The property is in top condition. Although the rooms were comfortable, we spent most of our time around the pool or down by the cove. On days that the surf was down, it allowed us to snorkel almost at our front door. Will definitely return. Thanks Kay and Paul.

We loved our stay here. Kay and Paul are the most gracious homeowners we have met. We stayed in the East wing and loved it. The view is fantastic! Loved hearing the waves every night. Definitely coming back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

A slice of Hawaiian Heaven

  • 5 of 5

The Mrs and I had the pleasure of spending 7 glorious days in the West Suite. The suite is the perfect size for a couple. We enjoyed sitting out on the Lanai in the morning, basking in the beautiful view of the beach while drinking our coffee and plotting out the days activities. We also prepared many a meal on the easy to use BBQ grill. We enjoyed using the easily accessible outdoor shower. The water pressure was great and the water always piping hot. The pool was fun and the hot tub came in handy after a morning of horseback riding in the Waipio Valley or a long hike. The wifi worked great and the cell service was excellent. The location of the house is stellar, about a 15 min drive to all the restaurants in downtown Kona, 45 min to beautiful Kohala beaches and 15 min to Kona Coffee farms. Paul and Kay provided Beach Chairs and an Umbrella which we kept in our Jeep rental because we never knew when we'd make an impromptu beach stop! Every night we came back to the house we truly felt like we were coming home. So much nicer than a hotel. Paul and Kay were fabulous hosts. We had plenty of privacy but loved chatting with them whenever we ran into them. Needless to say we enjoyed our week here and wouldn't hesitate to book it again. Mahalo again Paul and Kay for a truly wonderful stay!

Such a gorgeous location!

  • 5 of 5

This trip was the honeymoon we never had 38 years ago! There is no way we will wait that long to return. Our stay couldn’t have been any better. Our hosts were the best! Very attentive and so friendly. Thank you for making our trip such a pleasure.

The location of this rental is perfect. The view is outstanding. We loved the peace and quiet. Nothing but the sound of the waves to lull us to sleep. Waking to the view every morning was wonderful. Everything you could need for your Hawaiian adventure was provided as well as some awesome recommendations. We can’t wait to return someday very soon. We highly recommend staying here and would’ve loved to have given a 6 star rating if we could.

Thank you for everything,

Bruce and Tammy

He'eia Bay 200' from waters edge
Car: necessary

This property is less than 200 feet from the waters edge and overlooks He'eia Bay in Keauhou, Kona, giving you a spectacular view of the most beautiful bay in the area. Absolutely beautiful location. This property is gracefully set beside the the 50' pool shaped like a fish. This is quiet and peaceful He'eia Bay with an easy two block walk to Keauhou Bay. Here some of the best ocean adventure access on the Kailua-Kona coastline. There is kayaking, scuba diving, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling fishing charters, outrigger canoeing, sailing etc. Also a very famous location for manta ray night diving. The traditional Hawaiian coastal air design allows for the prevailing trade winds from the west over the ocean, and mountain breezes make this island home cooler and comfortable and most of the time does not require air conditioning. This home is 15 miles from from Kailua-Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA) which offers non stop commercial flights to and from, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose, along with direct inter-island flights to Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. This Keauhou home is located in a well established small community of homes built along the edge of He'eia Bay. This is a great spot, safe neighborhood, and just 5 miles from downtown Kailua-Kona.
