Paul and Kay live upstairs from these one bedroom Suites. Paul was born in Providence, Rhode Island, Kay was born in Guildford, Surrey, England and emigrated to the US with two other girlfriends, when she finished school. Paul and Kay met in Manhattan Beach, California. They went to Hawaii on their honeymoon and decided to live in Hawaii.
Paul Catanzaro purchased this House in 1984
Why Paul Catanzaro chose Kahaluu-Keauhou
This property has a beach public right of way bordering the east property line. This 'right of way' gives access to the beach on a 100' paved walkway.
What makes this House unique
This property is located on He'eia Bay which is right next to Keauhou Bay. He'eia Bay is a popular surf spot in the winter months and is known by the local surfers as H Bay. In the summer it is also a good dive spot, and enjoyed by many night divers and spear fishermen. Keauhou bay which is two blocks from our home has charter boats, kayaking, canoeing, famous manta ray dive boats etc. The local grocery store "KTA", is also two blocks away in the Keauhou Shopping Center.

Quiet, beautiful retreat
Our second time here and just as we remembered it! Lovely view, clean, nicely appointed accommodations and perfect hosts. We can’t wait to return.
Beautiful accommodations. Terrific hosts.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful suite! The location was ideal, the view was gorgeous, and the hosts were the best. We would definitely rent this property again....ideal for our Big Island stay!
This terrific spot was just what we were looking for. A peaceful place with a beautiful ocean view. This is a well kept property with lovely and helpful hosts. We stayed in the East side unit and the bed was outstanding - better than home. Enjoyed the pool and relaxing on the lounge chairs - it's a great spot for bird watchers! The location was perfect, with a shopping center close by, easy drive into Kona and close to some of the best snorkeling spots (two-step is a must!). I would consider this rental quite a bargain and would recommend to anyone - possibly the best VRBO we've stayed in to date

Three weeks at this lovely home just outside Kona
We really enjoyed our stay at Paul and Kay’s lovely home , we stayed in the east suite for 3 weeks with the kitchen outside, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it ..Lovely big bright sunny bedroom overlooking the pool to. It was great having the sink outside right next to the BBQ.for easy clean up.
Beautiful view of the ocean , we watched the nightly collection of boats gathering in the bay for the Manta Ray dive .
Kay and Paul were very friendly checking to make sure everything was ok .
Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Couldn’t ask for more!
It’s hard to write a good review for a place as wonderful as this, because you fear that you won’t be able to stay again! (Due to its popularity!!) But you can’t help it! This place is beyond wonderful! Where can you have a well stocked kitchen, oceanfront, semi private pool and hot tub for such a reasonable price?!?
I’ve always wanted to stay on the ocean and the gorgeous cove it’s on, doesn't disappoint! We had high surf when we were there, so we sat for hours on our private loungers and watched as many as 3 surf the waves!
We LOVED our outside kitchen! Cockroaches were outside after dark but they are everywhere in Hawaii after the sun sets. Just eat before dark... We found our hosts to be very kind and left us to ourselves. We felt as though it was our home on the ocean those 5 days! We also enjoyed the outdoor shower with hot water and free soaps. We plan on being back! That is for certain!
Aloha Paul and Kay~
Amazing place !
We spent 5 nights in the East Suite . Everything was just perfect . I may say that the amazing view right in front of our suite is even much better than on the pictures . We were so happy to stay there, even though with a couple of rainy days , we just loved the place ! The suite was very spacious , very clean , very comfortable and very peaceful . The owners, Paul and Kay , very kind , helpful and very discrete at the same time. A shopping center very close to us , maybe not even 5 minutes by car . We loved having our breakfast , lunch, snacks, glass of wine , nap etc...nearby the swimming pool, enjoying such a nice view to the Ocean ! Also close enough to any kind of activities , close to Kona and nice sand beaches ... I am certain I will omit so many other positive things to say about that rental, but the truth is that we have been very pleased and grateful to be able to enjoy our stay in the Big Island in such a little piece of Paradise ! That will be for sure and without any discussion our place to stay if we ever come back in the Big Island .... We highly highly recommend it !
This property is less than 200 feet from the waters edge and overlooks He'eia Bay in Keauhou, Kona, giving you a spectacular view of the most beautiful bay in the area. Absolutely beautiful location. This property is gracefully set beside the the 50' pool shaped like a fish. This is quiet and peaceful He'eia Bay with an easy two block walk to Keauhou Bay. Here some of the best ocean adventure access on the Kailua-Kona coastline. There is kayaking, scuba diving, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling fishing charters, outrigger canoeing, sailing etc. Also a very famous location for manta ray night diving. The traditional Hawaiian coastal air design allows for the prevailing trade winds from the west over the ocean, and mountain breezes make this island home cooler and comfortable and most of the time does not require air conditioning. This home is 15 miles from from Kailua-Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA) which offers non stop commercial flights to and from, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose, along with direct inter-island flights to Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. This Keauhou home is located in a well established small community of homes built along the edge of He'eia Bay. This is a great spot, safe neighborhood, and just 5 miles from downtown Kailua-Kona.
