Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7 plus futon, twin sleeper sofa & air beds)

Montina Beach is one of a few properties on Lake Travis with a gradual slope to the water. The park like setting from the beach area has been described by a real estate appraiser as the 'FINEST LAND on Lake Travis.' The view looks out across one of the largest areas of the lake with some of the largest hills in the Texas Hill Country as the backdrop. You will find this lake front area much more scenic than anything in Lakeway due to the larger lake area and the bigger hills; and much closer to town/amenities than Briarcliff or Lago Vista.

The beach area is large and covered mostly with grass. There is a large rock bon fire pit for those special evenings with friends. Yes, wood is supplied complimentary. Please check in advance to see if there is a burn ban or if the pit is underwater. There is also a grass volleyball court for your energetic gatherings with friends.

The property is located on the highly desirable south shore of Lake Travis, close to Austin's vibrant lifestyle and near all the amenities you desire from the finest in shopping at the new Hill Country Galleria and Lakeline Mall to great restaurants including Hudson's on the Bend, Rocco's, The Grove, Steiner Ranch Steak House, The Oasis, Mesa Rosa and Ray's 827 Restaurant.. There are six exceptional golf courses within ten minutes drive. The house is located on approximately six acres with another house that the owners live in.

Austin's legendary night life must certainly be experienced if you have never been to downtown Austin at night. The house is a great place to stay with friends when in town to watch the exceptional athletic programs of the University of Texas Longhorns. It is about a 25 minute drive to downtown or the UT campus.

Boat and jet ski rentals are available nearby; or launch your own at a nearby marina and park it at the dock on premises. Spend a day wakeboarding, water skiing or parasailing. Yes, they will pick you up right on your boat dock to go parasailing! If you are young enough in spirit, you may also want to venture into Devil's Cove for one of America's biggest parties every summer weekend - it is a five minute boat ride away.

The house has a wonderful open design. The kitchen, living room, breakfast area and dining room are all combined in a very large area without walls that makes for a great social gathering point. There are two outdoor living areas for your enjoyment. One bedroom has a king size bed and a private bath. The second master bedroom has a queen bed and also a private bath and must be accessed either through its own private entrance from the outside or by going through the third smaller bedroom. The small bedroom has a full size bed and a pull-out twin bed that recesses under the full size bed. The smaller third bedroom has access to a third, common area bathroom. A comfortable futon is located in an area of the great room and a twin bed sleeper sofa is also available in the living area. All bedrooms have televisions.

Please note that photos were taken with the lake level at a more normal level and the lake levels can fluctuate from drought to floods. Please ask the owner if you want to know the relative lake level.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The property was fabulous. We enjoyed the beach area and the fire on the beach at night was truly special. It was our second visit to Montina Beach-we will be back again! Thanks for the memories!

Just got back from a weekend at Montina Beach House. It was lovely! I was there with friends for a family wedding. It was a great location and the house was perfect. Very spacious and clean. The accomodations were perfect for us. We barbequed and enjoyed the Lake with a boat. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. We would love to come again sometime in the future.

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful Labor Day weekend staying here with family. If you enjoy the water as much as we do, this is a great swimming spot. The swim dock was really great. We packed a gourmet lunch and took it down to the water and pretty much spent all day there. They had umbrellas which was nice when you wanted to get out of the sun. The water can be a little rough as this is a busy lake but there is a nice beach entrance if you have little ones. It was very relaxing just to swim and watch all the boats. The property is beautiful. There are nice views of the lake, we enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evenings and even while eating our meals in the main living area we enjoyed the views. If you like bird watching there is a lot to see. The house is well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The area has lots of eateries and shops. We enjoyed the drive from North Austin up to the lake. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful property!

Great home. Beautiful lake

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay on Lake Travis at this property. The house had a very well stocked kitchen and was comfortable for our family. There are 3 bedrooms, but the one bedroom is a walk thru to the back room so if you have anyone with privacy issues, they may not want to stay in the middle room. However, the back room has a private entrance, so you could work it out if it was really inconvenient. The dock was fun to hang out on and with some creativity, we were able to tie up the 25 foot pontoon boat we rented for the weekend. We launched the boat at the dam and it was just a short ride to the house. The lake level was high and we had a great time, puttering around. Unfortunately there was a burn ban in effect and we weren't able to use the great fire pit. Would love to go back on a little cooler day to enjoy the great lawn and play some volley ball or frisbee.

Lots of room for a big family

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this property. The kitchen/dining/living area is a spacious open floor plan with lots of room for lounging, watching tv, and visiting with other guests. The back deck has a beautiful view of the lake. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook a big Thanksgiving dinner. The owners ensured that we were provided what we needed to have a bonfire on the beach by the lake. We will definitely stay here again.

Pleasant owners. Nice updated home without a view

  • 3 of 5

The home is older but nicely updated. The lot is narrow and very long with the owners very large home right in front of the view to the lake. We brought a 22' wakeboard boat which the owners asked and knew of. The swim dock is the designated area for guests boats with no cover(shade)or cleats to tie up to. The swim dock had 2 1/2 feet of water when we arrived according to my depth finder and the lake was full during our stay. A few days later the owner extended the swim dock out a little further to 4 feet. I would not recommend this rental for guests with boats. It is the number one reason we came to stay and I was always checking and worried about the boat because it isn't protected from large waves from a very busy lake. Our boat had some damage during our stay tied up at the dock :(

Owner's Response: Dear Bahram, Thank you for your feedback. We enjoyed meeting you and your son. It appears there is a typo mistake in your second sentence because the home has a very nice view of Lake Travis. Yes, the owner’s home is to the left of the lake view just as it is labeled on the photo on the website taken from the house. In fact, as you know, the unobstructed panoramic view from the beach area (that guests have full access to), is arguably one of the most fabulous views in all of Texas. The 200-degree lake view with the backdrop of some of the highest hills in the Texas Hill Country makes for a wonderful setting that everyone enjoys. The home is part of an almost six-acre property that guests have full use of and given that it is three lots combined most would not call it narrow. I am very sorry that our mooring whips were not available for your use. As you may have noticed, the base of one of them was loose and is waiting for repair – it has now been repaired. The mooring whips hold the boat about two feet away from the side of the dock so it is impossible to have any damage. As you know I warned you not to tie your boat to the front of the dock, but rather to tie it on the side of the dock – I’m sorry you left it that way until you had some damage. I also offered to pay for a slip for you at the marina two blocks away but you said it was fine with the five large boat bumpers we supplied along with the vertical bumpers already attached. Please send me a photo of the damage to your boat and we will pay for it to be repaired. I am sorry the water was shallow near the dock. With the lake higher than normal the dock is now in an area where the slope of the shoreline is flatter than normal so the lake is not as deep as normal at the dock. Even with that, the dock was in 4-5 feet of water, which works for most boats. It was a pleasure to have you and your family as guests. Thanks again.

Great place to stay on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here last weekend and it was great! The house is beautiful and the property is amazing. I docked my 21ft Skiboat on their dock with no problems. It was pretty windy and there are no cleats so take plenty of fenders and some rope. You can tie off to a few places on the dock. It's only 4-5ft deep off the dock but you can anchor about 40 ft off the dock for bigger boats.

House is stocked with the important things like dishes and other essential items.

I would stay here again in a heart beat! Thank you for the great memory!
