This cabin lives like your own home--comfortable, clean and convenient to everything in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Only 5 minutes to either town. And you're right around the corner from a 6 acre community lake, so it's great for taking family walks, exercising the dog or catch-and-release fishing. Swaying Pines is now in it's 15th year as a vacation rental cabin and we continue to make improvements every year. Come discover what our past guests are talking about!

Swaying Pines has 2 bedrooms and an open loft for sleeping quarters. The first floor bedroom features a king log bed while the upper bedroom has a queen size log bed. The loft has a double bed. We have also added a twin pullout bed in the living room. The ottoman converts in less than 30 seconds to a bed that will comfortably sleep a guest up to 200 pounds.

Swaying Pines's location is right between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg--only a few minutes' drive to either town. Well-paved roads with no scary mountain drop-offs or challenging curves. Just a steady climb that most vehicles can easily manage.

We have four other cabins, including VRBO listing 51745 'GrandView' and VRBO listing 134504 'TreeHouse Hideaway'. If a smaller 1BR cabin will do, please check out our VRBO listing 308275 'Water's Edge' or 816480 'Key to My Heart.'

Thank you for considering our pet friendly cabins. Even if you don't bring a dog along--and most of our guests don't--we pride ourselves in maintaining a fresh, clean cabin that you'll never know is pet friendly! Pet stays are a separate fee and must be approved in advance.

About Amy Greener

Hi I'm Amy Greener and along with my husband Rick, we own and self-manage our 5 cabins in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Our goal is to give you the best vacation rental experience ever. We hope to retire to the Smokies someday but for now, this is our family business and it keeps us busy! Rick is a hydraulics sales engineer and the technical mind in our family. I'm the art-sy one with a long career as a voice talent but more recently a professional photographer who specializes in real estate and vacation rentals. We would love to be your hosts at Swaying Pines.

Amy Greener purchased this cabin in 2002

Why Amy Greener chose East

Lots of people ask us why we chose this area to buy a vacation rental, when there are so many beautiful properties in our home state of Michigan. Honestly, it boiled down to two big factors: money and weather. With three young children, we didn't have much money to work with. We were looking specifically for a modest, fixer-upper. And Michigan gets mighty cold after October, so we headed south for our cabin search. We love the Smokies, the history of the area and it's welcoming people. We've made many friends and acquaintances there over the years, and you can't help but feel that wonderful southern charm and hospitality wherever you go.

What makes this cabin unique

Swaying Pines is a hidden gem...only 5 minutes from either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. We especially enjoy the short drive to either town when it's really busy, like holidays. The 6 acre lake is privately owned so you don't need to buy a fishing license. It's so relaxing to take a walk around the corner to the lake and drop a line...or just make a loop around the lake for some exercise. The horseshoes are lots of fun, too. It has been a joy for us to gradually update and upgrade the cabin and hear comments from guests who remember it having a blue exterior, dial up internet or the old jacuzzi in the bathroom (and no shower, ugh). Humble beginnings, for sure.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for sharing your home with us. You have done a wonderful job of making it comfortable and cozy. My kids loved the hot tub. We looked forward to it every evening after we had done all the "touristy" things in Gatlinburg. We love all the little touches that you did, like having enough hooks in the bathroom. My boys 2,5 and 8 call this the "fun house" as there was so many toys for them to play with. Thank you for making spring break special for us this year.

Owner's Response: Landren, I'm sorry to hear you were not happy. If you would have called me anytime during the 5 days you were at Swaying Pines, I would have immediately addressed your concerns. The sofa is a standard 84 inch. The housekeepers have checked water pressure and it is fine. If the toilet was running or a light fixture was acting up, we could have easily fixed them for you. Though it's a darn shame to now be branded with a one-star review, I'm not upset because I realize you can't please everyone. At least now, maybe this one star review will provide some social proof that our previous 96 five-star reviews aren't fake.

Amazing cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Swaying Pines. From the moment we walked in it was like walking into our own home. We found every comfort you can need or want and even some you didn't think of. We grilled out, played games and spent time in the sauna. The lake was just down the hill from the cabin and our boys would go fishing everyday. The cabin was perfectly situated between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

We've been on many trips but this was by far the best vacation we've ever had. We will definitely be returning for another vacation! - Dana & Patty Leibovitz

Very happy with our stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were very happy with our stay. The house was in great condition, it had everything that we needed for our stay. It was relaxing to come back to the house after site seeing and relax in the hot tub or enjoy the air conditioning. The location was perfect too, it was pretty much equal distance to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Truly Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house, well taken care of and has ALL the comforts of home! The owner goes above and beyond to provide you with all the extras that you may forget while your packing, including the pet bowls and a jar doggie treats. It is perfectly located right in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge with easy access to both but set back in its own very quiet setting. Hot tub, horse shoes, board games, game console or tons of movies are available here for your entertainment. We had a wonderful family time here and would recommend this house to anyone wanting to explore the beautiful mountains of Tennessee.

Fabulous Vacation Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation experience was wonderful, thanks to Amy and those who help with the cabin. We traveled with a group of 7 ranging in age from 1 to nearly 60. The chateau was very easily accessible from the parkway. It was well appointed and comfortable for all of us. It is very family friendly and provides a gorgeous view of the "off the bustling parkway" Tennessee environment. The children enjoyed a few of the videos in our downtime and everything we wanted to see and do was just minutes away! Thanks for a wonderful family vacation experience!

Owner's Response: Rick, thanks for giving a shout out to the people who make me look good every day at our cabins. Without Donna and her crew of housekeepers and Robert our maintenance man, we wouldn't be able to do this. They are the "boots on the ground" as they say! I'm pleased you had such a good vacation and everyone was comfortable. That's what we strive for! Please come again anytime.
