Saturday Turn-Day

Recently remodeled vacation home located on "Millionaire's Row" in the gated Pirate's Cove Resort. Our community offers excellent amenities for guests of all ages including: a community pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, and fitness center.

Come down to the docks and watch the charter boats come in with their catch, or book yourself one through the on-site Marina! Charter and head boat trips can be booked out of the Marina.

Ballast Point 50 offers a private dock behind the home .This outstanding home has unlimited views of the Roanoke Sound, especially at sunrise, and offers 5 spacious bedrooms plus a bonus living space with a sleeper sofa. The property offers an elevator to make unloading groceries and traveling throughout the home quick and easy. Dogs are welcome to join you on your stay as this property is pet-friendly (1 dog, no cats). The home is non-smoking. Property perks include: year-round hot tub, 35' dock space at Ballast Point Canal #40, 4 TVs, DVD player, pool table, shuffleboard table, gas grill, bonus fridge in garage, enclosed outdoor shower, and multi-level decks.

Parking for 5 vehicles maximum at the home and a vehicle can be parked in garage. Trailers must be parked in the garage and if they do not fit, they must be stored off-site. The Pirate's Cove community is golf cart friendly so feel free to rent one during your stay or bring your own! Turn-day applies for reservations between May and September. Full week stays needed for Thanksgiving and Christmas bookings.

Ballast Point 50 is just a few minutes from the beaches of Nags Head and the great shops and restaurants of Downtown Manteo. If you don't feel like leaving the community though, check out our on-site restaurant Blue Water Grill and Mimi's Tiki Hut. We also have the Ship Store in the same building for quick snacks and drinks.

Wonderful stay!

This property is located in a nice quiet area . The view is spectacular and the house was perfect for us. Would love to stay here again and make it a yearly family tradition.

Overall the stay was very good. Kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of plates and cookware. There were also a TON of spices, almost everything you can imagine, which we have found to be unusual in a rental. Plenty of room to spread out in this large house. Hot tub was amazing! It was very cold (winter) and windy while we were there and the heating worked well, although the hot water took a bit to heat up. The beds are very very firm. We slept well but some older guests were complaining about the firmness of the mattresses and their joints/backs aching. Also you have to drive your trash a short distance to the community trash bins - not a problem but good to know.The elevator was excellent for moving stuff from our car to the top floor (kitchen and living area) and for my elderly mother who has issues navigating stairs. Our only other minor complaint was that the chairs for the dining room table don't have cushions. We loved sitting around the table playing games at night but by the 3rd night we were bringing their pillows to sit on to provide some cushion.

Home away from home

We were privileged to stay at one of the most beautiful locations in Pirates Cove for our daughters wedding. The house had everything you could ask for. My family and friends enjoyed beautiful sunrises and water views with the Marina which had fishing charters and a ships store, tiki bar, restaurant, and of course the wedding venue within walking distance. Manteo and Kitty Hawk, were just a short drive away. We will be back!

We loved staying in this property! It’s absolutely beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed. The elevator was a godsend! The only complaint I would have is that the bedroom on the bottom floor is the pyramid bed which my 3 and 5 year old slept in - not a very stable top bunk so they slept on the bottom together and it was super far from the rest of us. Kind of a strange storage room. I was also nervous because they had three doors to the outside down there. My girls did not mind of course and they enjoyed every second of this vacation - we would definitely go back!

Ballast Point 50 in October

Our stay was great in almost every way. We were there for a wedding and our daughter was doing all the baking, flowers etc. The extra fridge/freezer space was so helpful and the kitchen was well stocked. Overall, it was a lovely, comfortable home and we enjoyed the views, dock and hot tub. Our grandsons had a blast! Theresa in the office was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for a great week:)

Big beautiful house

The beds are very firm and the rooms light up at sunrise but the views are beautiful out of all the windows. The smaller bedroom on the second floor with the king size bed has a tankless water heater in the closet and it makes a loud noise ever time someone runs the hot water . but over all I would definitely rent this house again. We had a wonderful week!!

Beautiful house but few issues

There were many things we loved about this house, the views, being on the water, the hot tub, space for being together but being a part too when you needed time to yourself, convenient drive to beach and pool. Things we didn't like, the beds were very firm and several of us woke each morning with stiff backs. Also the blinds on the windows, although nice, did not block out the sun first thing in the morning so for those wanting to sleep past 5 am made it difficult. There was issue with the dryer that was not solved until end of week when we were leaving, but property manager was helpful when we needed things dried. All in all we had a great week being together as a family and made some great memories. Also kitchen was well stocked.
