Still in Wayne NJ.

Very easy access to the Gallatin,West yellowstone,Big sky areas too. Would stay there again :) Great

The Property is close to the water. It was nice to cast flies while waiting for dinner to cook. We had no idea that the cabin on the Gallatin was so roomy. There was 5 of us all adults and had plenty of room for each other with out getting in each other's way. The washer, dryer is a bonus , no need to pack as much clothes more room to pack flies , tying vises, and materials:). Beautiful scenery abounds this area. I can see why it's called BIG SKY area. WOW is all I could say at every turn on Gallatin Rd route191.

The house is laid out for families ,As I would suspect not 5-6 adults. But the beds are comfortable the sofa is also. Thanks for a blow up bed every person had their own bed. If the bunks could be separated into twin size that would be ideal. (The top bunk felt a little claustrophobic as did the lower.) There would be plenty of more room if the beds where separated but we adapted. If I plan a trip in the future, I will not look any further this is the one for me. Thanks to The Cooks we had a great stay. Regards,Don,Vic,Doug,Marty& Bill

Very comfortable cabin by the river

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice experience at the Gallatin River Getaway. I reserved the cabin last minute before our family trip to Montana. I lucked out. The cabin is very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The best part about it is the fact that it is right on the river. My husband unpacked his flyfishing gear the moment we arrived and each morning and evening he was on the river. The cabin is located about 10 minutes from Big Sky (maybe less). Nearby are restaurants. It is also about 30 minutes to Yellowstone. Easy beautiful drive. WE went to Yellowstone two of the three days there. We highly recommend the BBQ at Riverhouse Grill as a ** must** when in the area. There is a master bedroom down stairs and a very large loft upstairs for the kids. Bathroom, kitchen and common room is perfectly set up for a large family. I would recommend the cabin. Thank you to the owners for their perfect communication and letting us use their family's home.

A Gem Of A Place

  • 5 of 5

I don't usually review places that we've stayed, but this cabin warranted a review because it was a surprising gem of a place. We initally booked this rental because we wanted to be in close proximity to both Yellowstone and to white water rafting on the Gallatin River. Several weeks before our trip, our son broke a bone nixing our rafting plans, and we were ambivalent about staying in Montana. I am so glad we did not change our plans. First, the cabin is about 45 minutes north from the west entrance to Yellowstone. The drive north through the Gallatin Forrest is a beautiful road. We drove back and forth to Yellowstone several days, and the drive was a wonderful way to rev us up in the morning and unwind us in the afternoon. Second, the house itself isn't so secluded, but it is set back off the highway so you feel like you are really getting away from it all. The turn off from the highway is a small lane, which if you blink, you'll miss it. I had google mapped it using the terrain setting before leaving, so I knew what to expect. Once you pass the 320 ranch, it is only about a mile and half north of that. Once you see the red roof from the Cinnamon Lodge, be prepared to make a right onto this lane that will lead you over a little bridge traversing the Gallatin River.

So, the river... the house sits right next to the river. You have views of the river from every window in the house. There are two decks that you can sit on, both with views of the river. It was wonderful sleeping with the windows open listening to the rushing water of the Gallatin River. The house itself is extremely clean with comfortable furniture. The windows in the main living room are huge, and let in alot of natural light. There was one afternoon that we stayed in the house, and the house felt like an extension of the outdoors, very well lit and filled with the sounds of the river. Additionally, the afternoon we stayed at the house, we went hiking right across the street, which is the trailhead to the Cinnamon trail, a popular Montana trail. We also went hiking in another famous Montana trail, the Beehive Basin trail, dubbed one of the top ten trails in the world. This trail was in Big Sky, which is only 15 minutes from the house. So, the house is very well situated if you want to go to both Yellowstone and Big Sky. Bottom line, is that this house is great place to stay, and for the price of the rental, it's a steal!

Would stay again!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was cozy and well-stocked with anything you might need. About a 45-60 minute drive to Yellowstone's west entrance. Communication was a bit of an issue, but not necessarily the owners fault, and everything worked out in the end. The kids loved the loft! Overall, I would recommend.

An amazing experience with wonderful memories.

  • 5 of 5

I liked the fact that there is no cell service and TV, being disconnected for a week was the best reward. The WIFI ran flawless so we were able to get music when we wanted it but honestly listening to the water sounded better. Nice scenic drive to West Yellowstone and the cabin had EVERYTHING needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with Raiza and I
