Incredible home, incredible location! There is so much outdoor space to enjoy in this home and the views from the master bedroom and living spaces (back of the home) are amazing! DISCLOSURE: Reolink camera is on the back deck facing the boat dock for security and a ring doorbell in on the front door.

Sounds Location is Great

We've stayed at several beach front houses, but after the stay here realize the sound side is much more enjoyable especially if you have younger kids. Great location and host communicates very well.

Rhonda is an incredible hostess. She always responded quickly to my questions before and during stay. The home is beautiful and well stocked. The location by the Sound made for peace & quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed lots of water time on the Sound and walked over to the ocean daily as well. Highly recommend this beautiful home!

The host was great at communicating. Loved having the bikes, kayaks and paddle board. Weather worked out well. Location was perfect. Definitely one of our favorite places we have stayed.

We love the mermaid house!

We had an incredible stay at the mermaid house. The location just steps away from the sound was perfect for my kids and for fishing in the mornings and evenings. The personal sandpit was an added bonus for my 4 year old. The house was stocked with everything you could need. It truly was the best stocked rental we’ve ever stayed in! Beautiful interior and exterior! We had a minor issue on night that was completely out of anyone’s control and Rhonda was quick to respond to my messages and get the problem fixed as soon as possible. We will definitely be back!

Family Vacation

As always, Navarre Beach was the perfect place for our family vacation. We had plenty of room and loved the location of this beautiful house on the bay. We had everything we needed right there. This quiet, family friendly neighborhood was just what we wanted for all to enjoy. Can’t wait to go back!

Awesome Spit in Navarre Beach!

We had a great time in Navarre Beach at the Mermaid house! Overall, everything was exactly as it was told to us! Loved being on the sound and having sand in our backyard. Home was more than big enough for 7 of us. They even had bikes available to ride and kid beach toys, which was so nice for our daughter to play with. Weather was not awesome for some of the time, so to have a comfortable home to enjoy made it a much better trip. They had almost everything you need in the kitchen and everything worked great. We’d love to come again.

Perfect Get Away

One of the best places we have ever stayed on the island and we've been there a lot! Beautiful house with lovely views. Incredibly well stocked kitchen and plenty of beach toys. My girls took advantage of the kayaks and we enjoyed the fire pit and walking along the sound. Walk across the street and you can stroll along the gulf. Fort Pickens is a short drive away and is teeming with wildlife. One person in our group had never seen an armadillo before so was thrilled when one let her presence be known! This is an amazing house and the owner is very easy to communicate with. This was a perfect Christmas vacation for us and it will be one we will always remember. Don't think twice! Rent this house right now!

Wonderful Vacation!

We can’t say enough about this property…it’s location, the neighbors, the decor, the accessibility, and especially the homeowner, Rhonda. The house had everything you could possibly need or want, even though Rhonda said there were beach items available we were still hesitant to not come prepared and when we got there realized we could have saved ourselves the trouble because the house was stocked with it all. We also really appreciated Rhonda and her superb communication- she was quick to respond and made sure to communicate any minor changes that could have affected our trip (but of course did not!). Thank you for the use of your beautiful home, we loved it. After a week stay at this house we are all coming back refreshed, it was the perfect vacation for my family and we can’t wait to go back!!

New Memories for Christmas

Rhonda was a pleasure to work with! Her response time was wonderful. The entire process was a breeze. As with so many other families, 2020 was rough for us. We lost our Mom unexpectedly in October. Christmas is our favorite family holiday. All we wanted was to be together. Carey Me Away-Mermaid House was a beautiful space for our families to spend Christmas and begin making new memories. Our ability to spend time together, in such an amazing space, made a difficult season a bit more bearable. The home and property were beautiful. Plenty of outdoor seating and living areas to enjoy. AND a gorgeous view. Everything we needed was easily accessible. We look forward to another visit. See you soon!

Spring Break 2023

We enjoyed our stay! There were 9 of us total and we felt there was plenty of room. We should note, the triple bunk bed has been replaced with a king bed in one of the main floor bedrooms. We totally understood the safety aspect of this change but wished we knew prior to booking. The access to the sound right off the deck was amazing and we enjoyed the short walk over to the Gulf. The pool was cold in March so we didn’t really use it. The house came with lots of amenities in the basement for the beach and sound, including an ice maker. Beach towels were not provided so I am glad that I asked before we came. The owner was available by text through out our stay. An updated binder of information with codes to the dock, pool, bikes, etc would have minimized the amount of times we needed to contact her. A cheat sheet on how to run the dishwasher would have also been helpful as it wasn’t like most dishwashers. One final note: Navarre Beach is growing and construction is booming…Including a house being built right next door. There was construction noise each week day from 630-330. Overall, we had a great week and the property was good for for us!

Fall Break

The location was perfect. We were able to watch the sunset in the evening. My so. Was able to fish, and we had access to the beach. It was well stock with all of your beach needs. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of linens and blankets. The deck was well furnished with plenty of seating. We had a great time!

Best Vacation in Forever!

The Mermaid House is beautifully decorated and has everything you will need to have a great stay! The pictures really don’t do it justice! There is even an ice machine to fill the coolers! We enjoyed staying on the sound side for the first time. The property is super quiet and the week we stayed, there was no one staying on either side of us so we had lots of space to ourselves. The beach is just a short walk across the street with a lifeguard nearby. Rhonda, the homeowner, was super helpful and was always quick to respond. I HIGHLY recommend this property!

Our family LOVES the beach and we desired to own beach property for 20+ years. After a lot of hard work, saving, searching and PRAYING, we finally found our dream. We are excited to share this little piece of heaven with others so you can enjoy, rest, have peace and great family memories. Our family and friends are very important to us so it is with that in mind that we offer our home and hope you will find it just perfect for you!

Why they chose this property

We love the diversity of the Santa Rosa Sound AND the Gulf (Ocean). We like to ride bikes, kayak, paddle board, boat, and look for the perfect sea shell as well as sit on the sugar white sands of Navarre beach and read or play. When you add the National Seashore, we were sold. Gourmet kitchen if you like to cook including Vitamix, Instant Pot, Kitchen Aid Food Processor, griddle, Keurig, Kitchen Aid mixer, GREAT knives that work well. Commercial Ice maker in garage, as well as beach wagon, kayaks, floats, crab trap, beach chairs, umbrella, tent, roasting sticks for the fire pit. There is an overwhelming collection of movies and games sure to please all ages! Pac 'n play and a baby gate also here.

What makes this property unique

There are so many special events throughout the year that can be enjoyed. Sailboat regatta, boat parades, Mardi Gras Parade, and many classes and opportunities from the turtle conservancy here on the island. The Pier is the longest on the Panhandle and offer fishing and walking. For an even larger list of "things to do" Destin, Ft. Walton and Pensacola are so very close. Publix and Walmart are close. Bike Rentals, etc are available.
