About Alicia Yowell
We are both retired and loving it! We were the original developers of Cedar Key. We purchased it in 1983 when it was a operated as resort since the 1970's. We have loved Cedar Key and have been an active member to maintain its beauty and serenity. My husband worked for the Farm Credit Administration for over 30 years as its Chief Financial Analyst. I was a social worker for years in the District and then worked as a Realtor for 22 years in Northern Virginia. We have two wonderful adult children who love Cedar Key. We made wonderful memories here as I know you will.

Why Alicia Yowell chose Huddleston
Amazing views of the lake and mountains surrounded by deep woods. There are very few homes on the lake that have such a beautiful view. The gardens in front of the cabin are simply lovely. My husband worked hard for four years to create this magic for you! The all cedar cabin is very well maintained and always spotlessly clean. Read the reviews, everyone just loves it. It is simply charming and inviting. You will not want your vacation to end.

Beautiful Thanksgiving Away!
Beautiful location, friendly and generous owner, and very cozy to boot! We wanted a quiet Thanksgiving away and got that and much more. We trail hiked, fished, and just chilled... exactly what we were looking for. Thanks Alicia!
So glad you all had a great time. It is a magical cabin , and I know you loved the view
Fresh air and an amazing view.
My husband and I very much enjoyed our week long stay at this cabin. A comfy couch, terrific shower and firm mattress were the perfect end to days spent hiking at Smith Mountain Lake State Park, visiting historical sites and enjoying nice restaurants and shopping in Moneta. We were blessed with some warm afternoons spent relaxing on the deck and soaking in the tranquility. Having our two dogs with us to enjoy the hikes and views made all the difference. The cabin is beautifully decorated and made a great home base for our busy days. Enjoyed a wine tasting at Hickory Hill winery. Thanks Alicia for our wonderful stay!
So glad you two had so much fun. You picked a great week too. The leaves were at their pick when you first arrived.
Thank you for leaving the cabin spotlessly clean.
Smith Mountain Getaway - Oct 19th to 26th, 2019
The Cute and Cozy cabin was a delight. The view was beautiful. Everything we could have even thought of needing in the cabin was there - and even more. The bed was so comfortable - like sleeping on a cloud. We ate at Casa D'Amici - twice. The food and the service were exceptional. We went to a number of the sites Alicia suggested for our visits - including the Emerson Pottery where we bought new lamps for our bedroom. That is a fun shop - don't miss it! Even with two rainy days, we did not miss much. I was very glad for my cell phone GPS - needed it for all the little winding roads. Without the GPS, I would have been sure we were lost, but it was fun and I felt oh so technically savvy when we reached our destinations. Also, don't miss the Visitor's Center in Bedford and the compelling D-Day National Memorial tour. Following the tour, we enjoyed a wonderful late lunch at Liberty Station in Bedford. It has a very interesting D-Day connection to Bedford. If there was anything that presented a challenge for us it was the walk from the parking area to our cabin. My husband's back and my knees - it's a bit of a hill. However, they are our physical limitations. It's a very short walk and younger backs and knees won't even notice it. Alicia was very easy to contact and fun to chat with. We had a good time. When I say easy to contact, I am serious about that. She will never forget our phone conversation on the day of our arrival. I thought we were lost, but we were actually only a few miles from the cabin. Thank you Alicia for everything. What you and your husband have accomplished there is a sight to behold and a destination to enjoy.
