Cedar Key Village is part of a larger community called Cedar Key Estates. Most of the Cedar Key Estates are full time residents. Realtors have a waiting list of people who want to purchase in Cedar Key because we live on the largest no wake cove on the lake. It is over 60 acres. The mile long drive to to reach Cedar Key village is heavily treed, which offers a spectacular entrance into our resort, especially in the fall.. There are ten smaller cabins and my larger home that make up Cedar Key Village.

Easy access to the cabin, just one step and you enter a one level living space.

Just installed a RFG whole house air purification system. Proven to kill 99.99% surface and air viruses, including Covid 19. According to their literature RGF® Environmental Group, Inc., a leading environmental design and manufacturing company, has released the results of a third-party test that proves the PHI-PKG14 PHI-CELL® product with Photohydroionization® technology inactivates greater than 99.96% of airborne SARS-CoV-2 virus. The report is the first-of-its-kind to test for viral reductions occurring within the actual air. Welcome to Cedar Key Village at Smith Mountain Lake, a charming 11 home community. This spectacular all Cedar Home is located on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake and is one of eleven homes nestled in a secluded no wake cove. My cabin is lakefront.

My charming cabin hums with relaxed energy which you will feel the moment you enter. Features a great room with cathedral ceilings and an electric fireplace. Our one level home’s main living area is totally open so if you are in the kitchen, you are not isolated from your family and friends. Cedar beams throughout the house adds a unique charm to this beautifully decorated and inviting home.

I offer two bedrooms and one full baths. Renovated bath offers walk in tiled shower. Living room has a sliding glass door to the deck, which offers a fantastic lakefront view of the lake and Smith Mountain… what a way to wake up each morning.

We have one of the easiest access to the lake for those who have walking issues as you can drive directly to the waterfront, just a 30 second drive. Also you can walk the road or take the 75 steps down to the waterfront. The walk down the steps to the waterfront is surrounded by beautiful gardens on both sides, please see the pictures.

The house is appointed with every pot and pan, dish and glassware imaginable. Many of our guests have told us it is far better equipped than their own homes. We also provide an array of spices.

Our no wake 60 acres cove is famous for its abundance and variety of fish. It is where the strippers spawn every year and fisherman catch bass, muskies and cat fish right off our docks. You will see an exciting array of wildlife including eagles, owls, ospreys, hummingbirds, wild turkey and of course deer but we also have several albino deer which are spectacular to see if you are lucky.

Because the cove is “no wake” you can swim, kayak, paddle board and canoe without being disturbed by jet skies and motor boats, a rarity on the lake. We are only a 500' to the entrance to the main channel so you have go far before you can produce a wake. The cove is surrounded by a 2000 acre wildlife mountainous nature preserve so your views are of deep woods, silhouetted by Smith Mountain and its surrounding mountains. Smith Mountain Lake has 22,000 acres of clean water and has 500 miles of shoreline.

There is a mile long drive to reach our Lodge that is just magical. It is deeply wooded with an abundance of hardwoods on both sides, not a home in sight. Once you have made this turn on our lane, you will be delighted with the serine, natural beauty that surrounds our home.

Ideally located in southwest Virginia's mountain foothills, our Lodge setting balances the beauties of landscape, mountains and lake with tranquility and recreational pursuits for a perfect vacation. Each season offers delights for the senses. Spring brings beautiful mountain laurels, azaleas, and dogwoods. Summers are lush with the aroma of heavy woods and an array of flower blossoms. Crape myrtles surround our property in late summer bursting our gardens with a variety of color. Autumn paints the landscape in burning brush strokes of red, gold, and orange. Each season is unique. Each a part of the beauty that surrounds our

Quiet, serene, beautiful -- a fresh adventure in the leisure life awaits you. Pick your pleasure. Maybe it's a romantic winter weekend. Or a family designed dip into summer water sports. An autumn escape to see Smith Mountain on fire with ever changing colors. Or spring's first battle with the bass and muskies. No matter, you will find them all.

The Mariners Landing golf course is just ten minutes away and in the same community as the Point Restaurant which is renown on the lake as one of the top lakefront restaurants. They also have lots of fun entertainment over the summer and fall months so make sure you look them up.

Rent all types of boats at nearby marinas and enjoy parasailing, water skiing, sailing, water-skiing, jet skiing, and for those with a large crowd you will love the huge pontoon boats.

We offer on site to rent ($75.00 each for your entire stay) 4 kayaks, one two person canoe an, one three person kayak with the middle seat perfect for a dog or small child and two paddle boards. Our no-wake cove is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming. No worries of being run over by the jet skis or speed boats.

Our mile long drive into the property is perfect for long walks or biking. You will listen to only the sounds of nature as a beautiful hardwood forest hugs both sides of the road. Deer and turkey abound! Also if you like mountain biking, you are only a few minutes away.

There are lots of funs restaurants close by and the state park is just ten minutes away. The park offers summer fun programs for children at their camp pavilion. They also have a mile long lakefront walking trail, a sandy beach, boat rentals, covered pavilions with charcoal barbecue grill and lots of nightlife entertainment.

You can take a ride on the Virginia Dare to see the lake and enjoy dining for lunch or dinner. Next to the Virginia Dare is the Tiki Bar, a true fun spot for Jimmy Buffet fans.

On the side of the lake (about twenty minutes away) there are lots of fun clothing shops, miniature golf, arcade, art shop, ice cream parlor, cinema and great restaurants.

The area is rich in history; you will want to make sure you see the Booker T. Washington plantation, the D day Memorial in Bedford and take a tour of how the dam was constructed. And Roanoke is only 40 minutes away and has all kinds of fun nightlife at market square. It is considered one of the best towns in the state for Bluegrass music. A drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a must; the mountains are soft and lovely, and serenely beautiful. We know you will love our home and our charming resort community.

Great views! Rustic cabin. Walk to lake from cabin is intense, but the drive option is great for those who couldn’t walk it. We had a great spur of moment trip! Host was very pleasant and communicated well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was beautiful, and so was the lake. Our dogs really enjoyed their walks throughout the community as well. We had a couple of logistics issues with getting our boat to the dock, due to the lake being down by about 4.5 feet (no fault of the owner, of course!), and she responded immediately and worked to find us an alternative in record time. We would definitely love to stay here again.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The owner was comprehensive in all her communication and restaurant recommendations. The cabin is so cozy, clean, and very well taken care of, and oh my gosh, the view is outstanding. I would definitely recommend renting here. Carol was amazing from start to finish during the rental period.

This cabin is beautiful. My husband, daughter and I spent the weekend after Thanksgiving there and disconnected from our phones. I love how peaceful everything was and how you got amazing views from the living room and main bedrooms. The cabin was also equipped with everything we needed. Communication was clear and very helpful. We actually talked about going back during the summer months so we can enjoy the lake.

We are both retired and loving it! We were the original developers of Cedar Key. We purchased it in 1983 when it was a operated as resort since the 1970's. We have loved Cedar Key and have been an active member to maintain its beauty and serenity.

My husband worked for the Farm Credit Administration for over 30 years as its Chief Financial Analyst. I was a social worker for years in the District and then worked as a Realtor for 22 years in Northern Virginia. We have three wonderful adult children who love Cedar Key. We made wonderful memories here as I know you will.

Why they chose this property

Amazing views of the lake and mountains surrounded by deep woods. There are very few homes on the lake that have such a beautiful view. The gardens in front of the cabin are simply lovely. My husband worked hard for four years to create this magic for you! The all cedar cabin is very well maintained and always spotlessly clean. Read the reviews, everyone just loves it. It is simply charming and inviting. You will not want your vacation to end.

What makes this property unique

Totally renovated, including new kitchen, bathroom, Comfortable furniture, beds and deck furniture
Over sized deck
No wake cove, but only two foot ball fields to the open water
Easy access to the water front, even drive to your dock
Semi- shared dock with boat slip in deep water
Beautiful all season gardens lake side that is simply amazing
Charming, one mile walk on our country road, surrounded by a hardwood forest.
