Knowlton Farms Guesthouse...

Down a private driveway, sitting on a hill, overlooking vineyard views and mountain vistas is a re-modeled 1920's guesthouse. Welcome to paradise in wine country! Sonoma County TOT 753N

The two-bedroom farmhouse has everything you need to make your wine country vacation enjoyable. Luxury sheets and towels, a gas fireplace, cozy rooms professionally designed in a sunny, comfortable style. The kitchen is fully-equipped to cook, or sit and look out on the 5 star view of vines and mountains. Tranquil mornings, warm afternoons and cool evenings make this a perfect climate for living inside or out.

A 60' solar heated lap pool and therapeutic hot tub await just steps from your door, along with an outdoor shower. Adjacent to the guesthouse is a path leading to an organic garden, where raspberries can be plucked for your morning breakfast. It is all here, and so much more. Take a leisurely drive a short distance to some of the greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay tasting rooms. We are minutes to Healdsburg or Sebastopol, where you can find ambitious chefs creating sumptuous meals using local ingredients.

Exercise and activities abound. The Joe Rodota Trail, just behind our house, offers 8.47 miles of paved trail. More hiking trails are just 15 minutes away beneath beautiful redwood groves. There are two 9-hole and two 18-hole golf courses a short distance away. The Pacific coastline is a beautiful drive over the hill from Graton through Occidental, both great towns worth exploring. You will never run out of things to do. Wineries, art galleries, shopping and enjoying life is what Sonoma is all about!

Here at Knowlton Farms you are away from town, but close enough to everything. If you are looking for a special treat, you can revive yourself with a day trip to the famous mud baths in Calistoga. If you desire something closer there are several day spas in the area that will pamper you to your heart's content!

We welcome you to explore our property during your stay. We’ve built a screened-in sleeping porch among the apple trees that is a perfect spot to read a book. Alongside the porch is your own patio with barbecue and outdoor eating area. There is a hammock between two old apple trees for a lazy nap. There are walks through the vineyards right behind the house. Gardens burst with flowers in season and there are many paths and places to rest that make the property like a park.

Knowlton Farms and Vineyards offers two vacation rental homes (Vineyard Home VRBO #1055443) all within a quiet and extensive landscaping. Surrounded by world class pinot vineyards, the property is just under 8 acres. Guests at both rentals have access to a solar heated 60 foot pool and Jacuzzi . In addition there is a screened in napping porch and landscaping with over 800 different species of trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and ground covers throughout the property.

We look forward to having you here and hope you find it as charming as we do!

About Lori Engelhardt, Property Manager

Phillip is retired and enjoys sharing his property with guests from all over the world. He enjoys spending his time gardening in the organic garden and providing fresh vegetables to local restaurants.

Lori Engelhardt, Property Manager purchased this house in 2002

Why Lori Engelhardt, Property Manager chose Sonoma County

The property is located right on the main wine road for Green Valley, Russian River Valley, and Sonoma Coast appellations. The house is set back from the road to give the feeling of absolute privacy, but with the convenience of getting to and from all the great sites the area has to offer. The pool and gardens are beautiful. You can go out and visit wineries then return to the oasis and relax by the pool or enjoy your own private garden area by the guesthouse.

What makes this house unique

The farm is situated in the heart of one of the Worlds best wine growing areas, The Russian River. Both Pinot and Chardonnay benefit from the full days of sunshine as well as the cooling from the Pacific breeze.. The pool is such a wonderful place to land after a day of wine tasting. The sunsets stretch on forever over the Green Valley hills in the distance.

The house and grounds are restful and rejuvenating. A great place to unwind.

Lovely property in a terrific location

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house, and wish we had stayed longer. Its location is ideal, as you can reach a number of Sonoma's best attractions within a short drive.

Gorgeous property!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the farm house for a two night stay and had a wonderful time. Our only regret was that we didn't plan enough time to spend actually on the property. We definitely need to come back.

Spectacular Stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Farmhouse was idyllic from the minute that we walked in. The owners were kind enough to welcome us with a couple of bottles of wine - which were quickly enjoyed sitting out in the garden. We loved watching the morning fog dissipate as we enjoyed our morning coffee from the breakfast nook. The property was ideally suited for wine tasting throughout the Russian River Valley. We greatly look forward to our visit next year.

absolutely spectacular vacation home and property!

  • 5 of 5

we recenly spent one of the most idyllic weeks at Knowlton Farms. The property is breathtaking beautiful and the gardens are amazing! There are not enough adjectives to adequately describe this wonderful place. My husband, daughter and son-in-law and myself recently stayed here as a base for our journeys in Sonoma and Napa. After a busy day touring the countryside it was so welcoming to come back and relax at Knowlton Farms. The guest house is so comfortable that we could have stayed there without venturing afield. Unfortunatley, we were not able to use the lovely pool as it looks like it was closed for the season. further, the weather turned overcast and rainy during the latter part of the week. we have stayed at a number of places in Sonoma and Napa over the years and Knowlton Farms was by far the best of all. the ONLY downside which was not an big issues was that there was only 1 bathroom so with 4 adults it did take some juggling in the morning. other than that we loved the vintage furniture, the beautiful old stove in the kitchen and all of the personal touches that the owners placed through out the home. it was as beautiful as the pictures portrayed it.
