Mabre will not have to concern herself about booking again with me, as I have blocked her from renting any of my units. When she made her reservation all of the amenities except for the indoor pool were closed, and the rate reflected these closures because it was unclear if the repair efforts would be completed by the time they arrived. Through hard work by the COA Board, they were able to get EVERYTHING working (exterior pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, exercise room, and the BBQ grills) prior to her arrival, yet the rate she was charged reflected a scenario where nothing could be expected. The parking fee was initiated 14 days prior to her arrival by the COA Board of Directors and she was notified, by me, 7 days prior to arrival of the $25 fee. From this point, regardless of how I framed the charge, she insisted on free upgrades (upgrades to what? since she was already in the best units in the building), free dinner comps at restaurants, free parasail rides, free dolphin cruise tickets, you get the picture, reimbursement for the $25 fee, etc. When she did not get the answer she wanted from me, she claimed I was rude and wanted to speak to another person. She acted like a spoiled child who instantly defaults to a belief that you're rude if you don't agree with her position. Take the time to review the 200-odd reviews on my properties and you will see that zero indicate any rudeness on my part. So, out of 200 reviews are 199 folks wrong and only Mabre represents the shining beacon of truth? After several iterations back and forth about giving her free stuff, I offered her a full refund (per my policy) and I would cancel her reservation (essentially giving her two free days), but she refused. I can't deal with attitudes of self-entitlement and refuse to deal with this behavior from her in the future.
