This magical place gives the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere but yet is only 5 minutes to the village of Margaretville which has all of the shops and conveniences you could ask for. Your rental will include the use of a row boat & 2 kayaks that you may take to any of the surrounding ponds and lakes. The surrounding area has an abundance of hiking trails, waterfalls, and swimming holes to discover as well as ski mountains, mountain golf courses, ziplining, scenic train rides and other outdoor activities. This brand new immaculate home awaits you to enjoy the fabulous great room with soaring ceilings, wood burning fire place and sliding glass doors to large deck with table seating and propane heater. Kitchen includes microwave, oven, electric stove, refrigerator and freezer, toaster oven, coffee maker and dishwasher. The two bedrooms on the main level include 1 King & 1 Queen size bed & 1 full bathroom, The bunk room on the lower level includes 2 queen beds & 2 twin beds with an en-suite bathroom and a large recreational room. Wifi and TV with streaming capabilities. Washer and dryer for laundry. Driveway parking.

First, I'll start with the magnificent view in a very private setting.The house itself was designed beautifully, and very functional.There were views from almost every room.It's a chef's dream to cook in a kitchen with such beautiful scenery outside the window!Margaretville is 10 minutes away where there is a well stocked supermarket which included organic produce.Fausto was a great host!We would like to return again!

We had a great time at this rental. Check in was smooth and communication with the owners was seamless. The home is exactly as pictured and very well stocked with all the extras if you need them. The location is great for access to snowboarding and there are several restaurants in the area. The check out process was simple, which we really appreciated as that seems to be one of the biggest drawbacks to vacation rentals. If we could give more than 5 stars we would, we hope to be back soon!

Originally from Italy, my wife and I now live on Long Island and have raised 2 children there. We enjoy priceless memories in this vacation home in the Catskills and hope you will as well.

Why they chose this property

After years of searching for the perfect piece of land we came across this amazing 5 acre vacant parcel with magical views so sweet we nicknamed it "Sugar Mountain". Within minutes of walking this property we knew exactly what we wanted to build and how to place it on the property to capture the amazing water view of the Pepacton reservoir.
We love this location because we wanted a place to get away from it all and have the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere without being too far from the conveniences needed. Sugar Mountain is only 5 minutes to the lovely town of Margaretville, 15 minutes to Belleayre ski mountain and just two hours and 15 minutes from New York city. Staring at the view never gets old!

What makes this property unique

This brand new immaculate home was designed with an open floor plan that captures the breathtaking views from almost every room including the lower level. The kitchen will satisfy any chef and is open to the Great room with soaring cathedral ceilings and detailed custom woodwork. This design allows everyone to be part of the conversation. The home is tastefully decorated with new furniture and very comfortable beds. The lower level provides a spacious and separate area making this home perfect for a multi family rental or a family with kids of all ages to have their own private area. The lower level includes a bunk room that sleeps 4 to 6 and is favorite for kids and adults. The Great room fireplace is mesmerizing on those cool nights and the heated radiant floors throughout the entire home make this an extremely comfortable winter rental. In the summer the central air conditioning will keep you cool and comfortable. The large 28 foot by 14 foot deck with barbeque and comfortable seating places you on top of the world with magical views that are constantly evolving from sunsets to fog over the reservoir which we call "Smoke on the water". The backyard has a wonderful fire pit surrounded by chairs. If you're looking for a hike this 5 acre property has some beautiful rock outcroppings on the lower section.
