Come and relax at this beautifully renovated 1930 modern country home nestled in the trees on the White Salmon River. This spacious 4 bedroom get away has the serenity of country comfort with the ease of accessibility.

Year round there are countless activities to captivate your spirit such as
Skiing (down hill and cross country) snow boarding, snow shoeing, hiking, golfing, windsurfing, kayaking, visiting local wineries, breweries, and much, much more!

From picnics on the lake to back country ski slopes, this is a great jumping off point for a wide variety of four seasonal recreation and community activities. Feel like staying in? There are many things you can do from the comfort of home. Sit and relax by the crackling wood stove or star gaze on the back deck to the sounds of the rushing river. Well Appointed Get Away

Immaculate home nestled in off the grid Husum community. Located right on the White Salmon river rapids. Was fun to walk through the property and watch the kayaks travel down the river. Only 10 minutes to Hood River bridge. I cannot say enough about how lovely this property is.

Wonderful Wedding Weekend Stay!

My family along with my MIL and her husband had a delightful stay at this wonderful house. It was large and newly renovated! What a delightful surprise to find that the kitchen and bathroom were fully re-done but not shown in the listing photos. Usually you are disappointed that the photos don't show reality but in this case, we were thrilled. We loved the location and my kids have already asked to visit again!

Sweet place on the river!

This house exceeded expectations and there have been upgrades since some of the pics were taken (as mentioned in another review). We loved the location on the river, and the fact that the area by the water had been mowed/weeded. AC in the house was fantastic and extras like coffee beans & a grinder show that this is a thoughtful owner. We’ll be back!

Family wedding/vacation

Warm, welcoming and peaceful did not want to leave. Well stocked. My husband. my son and his family, including 4 young children loved our stay. I especially miss the sound of the River at night. Slept with windows open for the fresh cool air and calming sounds of the River.

Great, Quiet Place!

Exactly what we needed for a group of 10 looking for a relaxed trip surrounded by nature. Super well-stocked, awesome deck in the back leading down to the river, and really charming home. Perfect location to raft the White Salmon (which we did) and to check out the falls. Would recommend!

Everything was perfect! House is clean and fully stocked with everything you would need. Plenty of parking, spacious rooms, and a great spot to dip in the water in the backyard. Will stay here anytime I am in the area!

Wonderful Stay

Beautiful spot

We had a great time staying here. The back patio is so nice to sit on - you're surrounded by trees and can hear the river rushing just below. Kitchen was stocked with all the amenities. It was a great retreat for my group of friends while also being able to drive 15-20 minutes to the Columbia river, Hood River, White Salmon, and wineries.

Center hub of rafting and kayaking the White Salmon.

Nice stay on the River. Really centrally located to all of the outdoor activities that are available in this area. Comfortable house was clean and well stocked with all the essentials. I had a great sleep ,and the air conditioned house was a great relief from the unusual high heat. My wife loved the overall feel of the place. Great stay.

A relaxing retreat

We really enjoyed our time at Husum House. The house was clean and fully stocked. The location was great. We had so much fun watching the white water rafters jump off the bridge next to the property and enjoyed the beautiful river and rapids surrounding us. It was an easy drive into White Salmon and Hood River but far enough away that you really felt like you were out of the hustle and bustle of town.

Quiet Retreat for Wedding Party

My groom and I stayed here with our wedding party (6 adults total) in June over our wedding weekend. Matt was extremely easy to communicate with and was a reasonable host. The property is beautiful, location amazing. It is an older house but kept in excellent shape. We loved having coffee on the deck and evenings inside by the wood burning stove. We even got ready at the house prior to our wedding and the photos of us around the house and property are stunning. I would be back in a heartbeat!

The house was super cute and was able to hold 9 of us with our dog. Regretting we needed was there. Loved the layout, the swinging doors, and even the Murphy bed. The bed we slept on was super comfortable. Wish our schedule allowed us to stay longer. I would definitely go back there again. Thank you.

Adorable updated historic home

Beautiful location. The sound of the river just out the back yard was mesmerizing. The house was very well stocked, superbly clean & comfortable, and retained a warm feeling of home.
