Our Door County home is a treasure...situated on Lake Michigan and alongside a county park that has limited visitors by design. We are very fortunate to have this piece of paradise to enjoy the lake, sun, stars, and each other. Master bath has a double shower and walkout outdoor shower. Details such as cherry wood and slate floors throughout first floor, Door County stone in countertops and fireplace are examples of attention to detail an architect would ensure his guests enjoy. About The Owner

My father designed this home to be a fabulous retreat from city life. Crack any window open and the lake is in the room. Windows abound so the outside is inside. When I come to Door County the stress of day to day life just slips away and the wildlife, lake and new areas to discover bring many moments of enjoyment.

The Owner purchased this house in 2001

Why The Owner chose Door County

The beauty of this property is that it is on the lakeside, you have peaceful, gorgeous views, the lake in all it's splendor; a full sky of stars; daytime privacy, hiking trails unending, and just a short drive away, when you wish to shop, visit art galleries, eat out, etc. you are close by.

I have at our home a long, diverse list of activities for families, couples, nature lovers, shoppers, gallery lovers, boaters, explorers, as well as recommended restaurants, a calendar of events and directions to sites, parks and towns near by, and essential services you may need.

What makes this house unique

We love the privacy...we have a county park to the south of us, so no one can build or daily encroach on our enjoyment. We have two patios/porches. One is just above the lake with a fire pit and it's wonderful for the evening with friends or early morning tea all on your own. The two person master suite shower and outdoor shower are both a delight. The lights were custom made for the property and add a wonderful texture to the space. The two story living and dining room, along with the Door County stone fireplace are the favored gathering spots throughout the day, with the many sliding glass doors, you feel like you are outside. The Tempur-Pedic king size bed make slumber a dream.

Best of the quiet side of Door County

Great property located next to Cave Point county park and a state park. Janet the owner is easy to work with and attentive to your needs to make your stay the best. Our second year there and we are booking it again for 2018. Jacksonport is about 20 minutes from everything else in Door County so the location is great for getting away from the hustle of the Green Bay side but being close by to all the venues in Door County.

Great location, great house

We spent 3 nights in this wonderful house. The suroundings and views are magic. The house has everything we needed. It is very well maintained, clean and comfortable. Beds are great. We were enjoying wildlife viewing, hiking, visiting nearby town. The owner of the house, Jane, is great. She went above and beyound so we feel welcomed and comfortable in her house.

Dream House in an Ideal Location

My husband and I recently rented this beautiful property for a mid-week Door County getaway. Located on a quiet road just a stone's throw from Cave Point Park, this home offers a terrific lake view and is perfectly situated, whether you want to hike, bike, or visit any of the nearby towns and villages. It's a lovely place, beautifully decorated and well appointed, but comfortable, too. We immediately felt at home. The owner couldn't have been more helpful, offering an abundance of current information on local sights, events and amenities. We highly recommend this property!

Complete perfection!

We have rented this beautiful lakefront home many times - for extended holidays with our family to girls trips - and it always surpasses our expectations for a warm, relaxing and enjoyable trip! The location - steps from Cave Point County Park and Whitefish Dunes State Park (one of the most beautiful natural sand dune beaches in Wisconsin) makes this an ideal getaway. Those of us who grew up in Door County understand the allure and beauty of what we call "the quiet side," aka the lake side. You have the true Door County experience of biking, kayaking, long nature walks while only a short drive from the more tourist-focused harbor towns on the bay side. The house itself is impeccably cared for - beautiful hardwood floors, tasteful decorations, gorgeous tall stone wood burning fireplace and a view over Lake Michigan that will take your breath away. The house is strategically constructed with the living quarters on one side and the sleeping quarters on the other. This thoughtful planning ensure that when you are in the sleeping quarters you cannot hear any noise from the kitchen or living room - a plus if you are vacationing with couples or young children. The beds are so comfortable and every detail - from extra linens to extra (4) bathrooms and every kitchen utensil you could need - make this feel more like your home away from home than a rental. There is an ample supply of wood for the fireplace and a beautiful fire pit outdoors that overlooks the lake. For those that love wildlife, we often see woodchucks, pileated woodpeckers and deer. I have stayed at many VRBO properties around the country and this remains my absolute favorite destination! So very highly recommended!

Great!

This house is so beautiful and so comfortable. I've rented it twice, once for a family reunion in 2016 and recently for a family/friends weekend. Janet is so responsive and it is so easy to make arrangements! The hiking trail heads for Whitefish Bay/Cave Point parks end in the back yard! Highly recommended. We'll be back many more times.
