Located on a mountainside overlooking Lake Dillon in the foreground; commanding & breathtaking views of peaks in the 10 Mile, Gore, Tenderfoot Ranges is a special property we call “our get away”. We bought it for our second home and use it often. The home is very family friendly, comfortable and has a distinctive Rocky Mountain Western influence w/ rock/beam, alder finishes, artwork. The home backs up to the Arapahoe Nat'l Forest affording plentiful hiking, exploring the land, play horseshoes or use your imagination in our large teepee in the backyard. You’ll feel right at home when you walk in the door of this cozy & relaxing resort getaway. Breathtaking views of the snow capped surrounding mountain peaks fill the 12 foot high wall of windows that frame the great & dining rooms. The elegant yet rustic/cozy atmosphere is centered by a 30 ft. natural rock fireplace in the main family room finishes off the western ambiance of our mountain home.

You’ll enjoy the mountain scenery that surrounds the home, making it the perfect place for creating family memories. Views are stunning from all windows in the home, w/large decks on the front, side and back of the home which afford sweeping views from each deck. The home gives you easy access to all of the activities of Summit County. Of course winter is just one of the 4 best seasons to stay in this vacation home. There are great activities available year round at each of the resorts & towns.

The home provides easy access to restaurants, grocery & liquor stores, shopping and ski rentals and Keystone, Breckenridge & Copper Mt Ski Resorts making this location very convenient for a special vacation. Hiking, biking, sledding & snowshoeing can be done out the back door!

Main Living Room

The living room features a 30 foot high natural stone wood burning fireplace with a wall of 12 foot high windows framing spectacular mountain and lake views. Large wood beams & fir tongue & groove ceilings, alder trim work accent the room high above you. With an inviting & open floor plan, half bath, complimented with artwork & bronzes throughout the home. In addition, you can enjoy watching HDTV on LCD tvs, DirectTV with 231 channels, Apple TV integration with Denon Stereo system, DVD player, DVR, & Denon high end stereo music system featuring Klipsch & JBL speakers inside & outside of the decks. In the rec room a full 7.1 surround sound theater system with a 52 inch hdtv is available. A broadband port & 2 desktop computers are located in the main room & study. Additionally a high speed wireless router is available for laptops and is available inside & outside the home allowing you to keep in touch with the rest of the world. Listen to crackling of a fire on a crisp winter night or gather friends & family on a peaceful summer eve on the 2 oversized sofas, great for curling up on after a long day of fun-filled activities. This room is the ideal place for it all! To put the finishing touches on this dream home, our interior designer made sure that no detail was overlooked.

Kitchen

The gourmet kitchen is a perfect gathering place featuring granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, alder wood cabinets & is well equipped for all your dining needs. For dining, your guests can be seated in a formal dining area. The table is a large fruitwood table able to sit 8 people comfortably with a large picture window offering wildlife viewing (elk can be seen on the hillside). The chandelier is a large Caribou antler with a dimmer to set just the right mood for your dining experience. Outside is a large deck complete with tables, chairs, gas grill, and outdoor speakers if you chose to be outdoors for Après activities!

Master Suite

The master suite located on the main level has a romantic western flare complete with a private deck, king size bed, entertainment center, surround sound speakers, radiant in-floor heat and sitting area for reading. This room is inviting too, with an oversized bed that gives new meaning to a 'good night's sleep.' And tastefully appointed with accents for a romantic evening or just curling up with a good book. The bathroom features a walk in shower & steam, large Jacuzzi bathtub, large walk-in closet adjacent to the master suite. Both the master and bathrooms have great views of Tenderfoot Mountain, Twin Peaks & Lake Dillon.

Also located on the main floor is a study that can be converted to a 6th bedroom. The study has a leather sofa with a pull out bed, desk, chairs, TV and wonderful views of the Gore Range Mountains.

Upstairs is a bedroom loft, with a queen-size bed & private full bathroom.

On the lower floor there are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, recreation room, laundry room, beautiful granite bar, large big screen HDTV, high end Yamaha 7.1 surround system, DVD movie collection, large leather wrap around couch with artwork throughout. The bedrooms are very comfortable featuring the following bedding: queen bed, king bed and a bunk (single over a double bunk).

Our family has been coming to Summit County to vacation for years ... both winter and summer. We live in the Denver area, and truly look forward to our 'down' time and getting away to Summit County to unplugging from the rat race. Nothing has been as beneficial for coming together as a family than when we gather to enjoying all of the great things Summit County offers! The Unique Benefits of this Home... We really enjoy being able to walk to Lake Dillon, biking on the bike trail, hiking behind our home, sledding from our place, getting away from the crowds when it's time to relax ... the location is perfect for us! We enjoy hiking, biking, walking to Dillon Marina in the summer In the winter, of course, we set our sights on skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, snowmobiling & so on. One of our favorite things about our home is being able to spend some time before dinner, building a large fire, listening to our favorite tunes using the stereo and outdoor speakers. Dining out is always a joy with the numerous choice of great restaurants in Summit County! Then, after all of the activity of the day, it's great to get a good night's rest, thanks to the very comfortable bedding we've put into our home. When it's time to leave ... well, we just have to start planning our next visit!

Great Long weekend getaway.

We loved renting this house during the long Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was beautiful and there was wonderful outside space to enjoy with fabulous views! The house was well appointed, I think the furniture has been updated since the pictures. We had everything we needed, from dishes, tv's, extra linens, etc. There is a trail head right out the back, which was great for those in our group who don't ski. I would have loved to enjoy the views in a hot tub, but that wouldn't prevent me from coming back. The location is great, especially for skiing both Keystone and Breckenridge. I would definitely stay here with my family again.

Convenient location, very cool home and views to match

We just returned home from a three-night stay at this lovely, clean home within a few blocks from the town of Dillon. Our group consisted of three 50-something adults and six 20-something adults for a family ski trip. The house was exactly as described, with plenty of comfortable beds and linens, a beautiful, fully- equipped kitchen and great gathering spaces inside and out. I was especially impressed with all the beautiful art and furnishings. The younger guests enjoyed the large 4K HD television, movies, foosball table . The beds were all very comfortable and well appointed furnishings. We were not there long enough to use the laundry room, but did use the iron/ironing board for clothes wrinkled from travel. We cooked or grilled in but had great options for dining out as well nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed having a refrigerator with plenty of ice, a good coffeemaker and toaster, plenty of dishes and glasses. The layout of the home was really cool, because each bedroom area was isolated, so noise from television and talking in the comfy living room did not disturb those who slept in. Really, we couldn't have asked for more and loved the convenience of skiing at the 5 ski areas nearby. I would certainly recommend this home to visitors, and would rent this again if I have the chance to get back to Summit County!

Loved The Views, Decor, and Location

After our first vacation in Summit County, we were excited to go back this year. We had never rented a home there before, so this was our first experience...and what an amazing one it was. Eight of us, four adults and 4 children (ages 5-10), spent a week at this beautiful home with breathtaking views. The home is so nicely appointed and tastefully done it really added to our maintain getaway experience. There was plenty of room for everyone and it had all the necessary amenities. We cooked a fair amount at home but when we decide to go out it was easy and convenient to do so, too. As for skiing, we really enjoyed being able to ski in Keystone, Breck., Cooper Mt and Vail for this conveniently located home. We would definitely return and stay at this home. It is a wonderful property and a fabulous place for a familiy vacation.

Wonderful home, gorgeous views...

We brought 4 of our college age and older children for a great trip. Plenty of room for big family members, the house was clean and well appointed. Incredible views overlooking mountains. We used the kitchen and oven for meals. Easy access to grocery shopping, restaurants, very convenient to ski areas and snowshoeing out the back door. House had all the amenities one would expect from a high end property but felt like a home. We will be back!

Views Amazing, Home Nice But Dirty

The view is spectacular and the home architecture itself was quite lovely. It was nice to have a large number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the basement area was a great place for cozy evenings. The large fireplace and fairly well equipped kitchen were also nice. My family and I had a nice stay here. That said, as pet owners ourselves, I must say that this home is full of pet hair and stains. When we rent a home that is pet friendly there is a certain expectation of some pet related wear-and-tear; however, I do not think the rugs in this house have been properly vacuumed or shampooed in years. There is a pet deposit that I would think would lead to additional cleaning, but clearly it does not. Granted, my family is sometimes clean to a fault, but we have rented other pet friendly homes in Keystone and Winter Park without this issue. Thankfully, for the owner, this problem can be fixed with a better cleaning crew. A few other items that make this home Average instead of Good or Excellent:

- The garage is not able to be parked in by guests (very unusual for a rental home)

- While the kitchen was well equipped, the utensils and dishes all required cleaning before use, as food was still stuck to them

- Too cluttered for a rental property; we don't want to feel like we're visiting Uncle Joe's house.

- The keypad for entry did not work

- The hot water heater is too small for a property this large that supposedly sleeps 12

Owner's Response: As the homeowner I feel compelled to respond to this passive/aggressive review. When I get an inquiry about booking our property I am involved with that guest from start to finish. I am very committed to assuring all our guests have a very positive experience due to my personal attention to every detail related to the stay. And because of that commitment we have never had a negative review. In response to the positive comments in this review, I'm glad you had a good stay and liked the home, even though you felt like you were at Uncle Joe's cluttered house? Confusing comment. Just to clear up some inaccuracies, our home does not have a hot water heater it has a boiler system and easily serves a party of 12. The keypad does work but the battery was low. There is lockbox right next to the keypad with a working key in it for those instances when the keypad has a low battery. A picky comment in my opinion. My property manager and the cleaning crew are adamant that the house was clean without dog hair everywhere and the dog stains were non existent before this guest checked in. These guests had several dogs with them. As far as the dishwasher is concerned nobody has ever complained about dirty dishes. The dishwasher was checked by a certified plumber and no problems were detected. This guest did admit that her party is sometimes too picky about cleanliness. The bottom line is this review is mostly confusing and inaccurate. Keith Brown
