Welcome to Rest Area East, where the best of beachside living meets the comfort of home. This charming beachfront duplex is perfectly positioned just steps from the Gulf’s edge and features a shared, beach-facing pool—offering both surf and swim in one relaxing location. Whether you're dining on the screened porch, lounging by the pool, or watching the waves from your bedroom, Rest Area East delivers stunning views and space for up to 18 guests to unwind in comfort. A beachfront pool is the ultimate vacation amenity and this one is shared only with the other side of the duplex.

Pro tip: Bring your favorite beverages—this home includes two full-size refrigerators and a built-in bar with an icemaker.

The Space

From the moment you step inside, you’ll notice the spacious, open layout designed for gathering. The main living area features a large screen TV, sleeper sofa, and expansive windows that flood the space with natural light and offer breathtaking beach views.

Gather around the custom, oversized dining table, which seats 14, with an additional four seats at the kitchen counter. The fully equipped kitchen includes granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and plenty of room for cooking meals or prepping snacks for the beach. The adjacent bar area—with an icemaker and second fridge—is a guest favorite.

We had a fabulous time in Fort Morgan. The house was so clean. When the gulf was too rough to swim, we had the pool to lounge in. We could go into town during the day and have beach and pool time in the afternoons and evenings. We love the family atmosphere in Fort Morgan area. Loved our stay at this house!

Large Family Get Together

This Beach House was an absolutely perfect vacation spot for our large family. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the views of the Gulf and the pristine white sand beach. The house itself was spacious and had all the amenities we could have asked for. The location was perfect for us, as it was just a short drive from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, but far enough away to feel like we had our own private oasis.

The BEST vacation ever!

We had the greatest time! The house was AMAZING! The view when you walk in is breathtaking! Rooms are beautiful. Beach was GORGEOUS. Our 11yo loved sitting on the balcony and watching the dolphins. Our boys(14 and 15) had a blast looking at all the crabs at night(there were so many). All three kids loved the pool and snorkeling everyday! You also aren’t that far from all of the fun of Gulf Shores! This is the perfect location if you want a fun, no fuss, beautiful family vacation!

The kitchen was well stocked, and having the extra refrigerator as well as an ice maker in the bar area is such a nice feature. For our large group, it was such a treat to be able to all sit together at the large dining table. Property managers were pleasant to deal with, and quickly addressed our minor concerns. The pool and surrounding areas are well maintained, and it was nice to have some bonus pool toys, boogie boards there as well. The beach area is not crowded at all, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Would definitely stay here again!

2022 Family Vacation

Our family loved so much about this property. It has enough space for a large family to spread out when needed. The pool was very nice & the proximity to the beach made it easy to go back & forth frequently throughout the day. Overall was a great place. The only thing I would have changed is to have a few 'staples' like coffee, sugar.... All of the other VRBOs we have used in the past have had a small amount of these things to get us started. One even had a welcome basket with snacks. We did find a great little store just down the road to pick up a few things & we were able to get groceries delivered to the house. But definitely would go back to this one. It is a great area.

Reviewer Comments: This house was wonderful - everyone had a bedroom (and bed!) who needed one, and the individual families were able to sleep near one another. The beach access was super convenient - just down the ramp from the back deck. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need for older kids and adults. Having 2 refrigerators was great, and the tables were able to seat everyone at once, which was also nice! With the beach and the pool, you wouldn't think you'd need anything else to do, but the cards, games, and books provided were also super helpful for those family evenings in. The house was clean and well organized, and we would definitely stay again!

Beautiful house with pool directly on the beach without all the chaos of Orange Beach/Gulf Shores. Great amenities! House is showing wear on the deck. There were spindles missing that could turn into a huge problem if someone were to fall. The deck around the pool is sagging in areas and again could cause a huge problem if someone fell through. The bathroom upstairs (bunk room) has clearly had water damage between the sink and shower. There was mold present. Not trying to pick but when you pay that much money for that short of time, you do not expect to find these things. Overall we were very pleased with the location, house and amenities. Great family vacation for our big group.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented Rest Area East with several families and we also rented the attached unit next door. It was a prime set-up for large groups. I'm not sure I'd be interested in renting only one side but it's probably fine. The house is extremely well equipped. I was a little bummed that there wasn't a gas grill but they did have a usable charcoal grill which worked fine. I noticed that everyone around there seemed to be using charcoal so maybe that's a thing. My only recommendation would be to add dish towels and dish rags. We had to buy some and just left them there. In the scheme of things not a huge issue. There are tons of beach toys there which I imagine gets added to by guests. Bring your own beach chairs. Loved the deck and pool and the ramp down to the beach was perfect. I'd stay there again.
