Esta es una de las propiedades más magníficas en la costa sur de la isla. Si quieres alejarte de todo, ¡ya está! Nuestra casa se encuentra en 3 magníficos acres ajardinados con paredes de piedra, un largo camino de entrada y un área de estacionamiento circular de ladrillo. Contiene cientos de acres de tierra de conservación. La vista SIN OBTENER desde la gran sala de arriba es del Valle de Madaquecham y el Océano.

Nuevo para la temporada 2011, tenemos una gran piscina climatizada a medida (60 pies x 18 pies) adecuada para vueltas o natación recreativa, con una cubierta de seguridad automática, casa de la piscina y cancha de tenis.

La casa fue completamente renovada en 2008.

En la planta baja hay 4 dormitorios, bien amueblados en estilo cabaña de verano. También hay 2 baños completos nuevos con accesorios nuevos, pisos de pizarra, una ducha de azulejos de metro blanco limpio en uno y una bañera / ducha en el otro. También hay una bonita lavandería / baño con su propia entrada independiente desde el lado de la casa. Afuera hay un nuevo y espacioso espectáculo al aire libre.


Arriba hay una gran sala con techos altos, una nueva cocina Woodmode con encimeras de granito, una península y una isla para comer. La decoración de arriba es de estilo cabaña de verano, con hermosos muebles antiguos de pino inglés, acogedores autocares antideslizantes, carpintería de estilo artesanal y accesorios de iluminación de bronce frotado con aceite y ventilador de techo.

El interior de la casa está recién pintado en una suave vainilla francesa con detalles en blanco. Las cortinas blancas y crujientes se mecen en la brisa del océano. En toda la casa hay pisos de pino recién renovados. Una puerta francesa conduce a una terraza orientada al sur con impresionantes vistas, además de un gran juego de comedor de mimbre al aire libre y parrilla de gas. En la cubierta inferior hay una agrupación de mimbre al aire libre que consiste en un sofá de dos plazas, una silla y una otomana, y una mesa de centro con cojines de marfil.

La brisa del mar lo mantiene muy cómodo, pero si lo desea, toda la casa tiene aire acondicionado central.

La cocina de la cabaña de la piscina está equipada con un fregadero, refrigerador debajo del mostrador, centro de bebidas, máquina de hielo, microondas y licuadora. Hay un impresionante mostrador de caoba con un acabado marino y cinco taburetes de bar, perfecto para servir bocadillos y bebidas junto a la piscina. Adyacente a la cabaña hay un patio sombreado de ladrillo con una mesa redonda de mimbre al aire libre, sillas y parrilla de gas. En la parte trasera de la cabaña hay un vestuario, baño y ducha al aire libre, todos convenientemente ubicados junto a la piscina.

A wonderful place to stay on Nantucket!

Beautifully appointed, spectacular grounds. Heated pool, cabana, and tennis court, along with a view of the ocean and a short walk to the beach make this comfortable home a perfect place to stay on Nantucket. Can't wait till we return next year!

Amazing Nantucket home for a family

This home was amazing. My family and I enjoyed it so much, as did my 2 year old son. The property is really unique. You can start your morning by playing some tennis followed by a dip in the pool then reading the morning paper outside by the fire pit. It is located very close to the airport and not too far from town. I really liked having property for my kid to run around on and not being too close to town. Was a great mini-vacation and I look forward to returning in the near feature. Also, owners of the house were easy to comminicate with and made renting very easy.

Nantucket at its best!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this home and property! A manageable drive from town and Sconset, this home is situated on the ultimate Nantucket property. Secluded, peaceful, tranquil and high end— it is the perfect balance of classic Nantucket and luxury vacationing. The home itself is classic Nantucket— cozy and charming with ocean breezes blowing through airy curtains. Views from every window allow you to take in the expanse of dunes and water beyond. The real highlight of the home though is the property. With a beautifully maintained garden (including a small vegetable garden with fresh herbs etc), exceptional pool and tennis court… it was the ideal home base with plenty to keep the kids busy when we weren’t at the beach. I would sincerely recommend this property— a beautiful, well-maintained home with a truly unique property that would be tough to match on island. The owner clearly loves this home and was available throughout our stay for questions and recommendations.

Wonderful Getaway

This is a wonderful property, with lots of space and privacy. The pool was large and clean; the tennis court was well-kept; and Nantucket's most beautiful beach is a (very bumpy) five minute drive away. Everything was in good shape, and the owner was responsive and friendly. We hope to visit again!

Beautiful large private oasis.

Lovely beach home, with every comfort needed! We would gladly return to this gem in the future! This house is exactly what Nantucket represents to us: sand, surf and serenity. The charming and comfortable house is very close to one of the best beaches on the island which is a long walk or short bike/car ride away. The view from the large 2nd floor deck off the open plan living room/kitchen is breathtaking - unobstructed views to the water in the distance! But we were also thrilled to relax in the private compound by the pool and cabana. An added bonus was the artificial grass tennis court that we took advantage of as well. The owners are very accommodating and have thought through every amenity needed during our stay. The kitchen was quaint but perfect for our holiday with every appliance needed, dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer, and microwave . There are loads of dishes, glassware, serving pieces, baking tins/sheets, and small appliances. The breezes that flowed through the kitchen and living room were wonderful.

Relaxing and gorgeous, private oasis

Our family had a wonderful week of fun and privacy on this beautiful estate. We essentially never wanted to leave. We swam, played tennis, had a fire, bbq and enjoyed every moment on this secluded property. We especially appreciated the little cabana hut for food and cold drinks by the pool and having our own tennis court. The owners were wonderful to work with and the house was comfortable, clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested.

Very private location

A very nice one week stay. The property is an a very quiet area, with well maintained tennis court and pool. It's a half-mile walk to the beach but what you get in this area is a great sandy stretch with no crowds.

Pool and Pastoral Views

Serendipity is a lovely and calming place to spend some time with family and friends. We spent most days relaxing in the gigantic pool with sensational views of conservation land. The tennis court was a huge draw as well, and many family tournaments ensued. The beds were extremely comfortable with luxury linens and the kitchen is well equipped for a high-end meal. The best part is the owners - our family has been going to Nantucket for more than 20 years and these owners are at the top of the list in terms of responsiveness, pleasantness and attention-to-detail. The bike ride to Tom Nevers on New South Road was a highlight and we highly recommend a SUV or similar for the nearby dirt roads. Lastly, the home is close enough to the ocean where mosquitoes don't come by, but far enough that the wind isn't blowing everything out of place. You'll have a great time.

Spectacular Home

Wow! This beautiful & tranquil home was more than just a home, it was a major player in our vacation. I highly recommend this property. Everything was as advertised. House, pool and tennis courts were great. Everything very clean. Easy access to fantastic beaches. Very private. Importantly, Debbie (owner) provided great customer service. She was incredibly responsive and very helpful with dinner and activity recommendations. Really can't say enough good things. Our whole family had a great time (3 kids, ages 18, 15 and 5).

Great time

We had a great stay at the house. My kids enjoyed the pool. The pool was new and nicely maintained. The tennis court was a plus to hit a few balls. Debbie was great and easy to work with. The house is comfortable and very clean. The upstairs family room kitchen area is light and nice to hang out in. The location is a short drive to the beach. Overall really fun time.

Beautiful property offering outdoor enjoyment

In Madequecham, surrounded by conservation lands, we were sheltered from the August Nantucket crowds. We shared the nearby beach with no more than a handful of others and enjoyed the refreshing ocean. The beach is a fifteen to twenty minute bike ride from the house. One could drive in less time but it would be wise to have a four wheel drive vehicle for the soft sandy roads. Mostly we spent time at the beautiful private salt water pool. It is an ideal size for swimming laps or for relaxing in one of the inner tubes provided. Around the pool is a delightful bar area, perfect for cocktails or outdoor dining. The large rectangular yard is perfect for playing soccer, croquet, or other outdoor sports and the tennis court adds another sports option. Most evenings we enjoyed dinner on the upstairs deck with expansive views of the sky and distant ocean. The living room is comfortable and provided with a large screen TV and lots of board games. We appreciated the ample kitchen for preparing meals and the large washer dryer for loads of towels. The house has two beautiful, roomy outdoor showers which provide the best place for bathing. Guests should be aware that the bedrooms are nice but quite small. Quality grocery and seafood stores are conveniently within a ten to fifteen minute drive. If you are one who appreciates natural beauty and being out-of-doors this house is a lovely option.

Beautiful home in Nantucket

This is the perfect place to stay in Nantucket. The house is clean and comfortable with everything you need to feel right at home. The property is gorgeous with a swimming pool, tennis court and beautifully manicured gardens. There is a porch on the lower level and a balcony on the second floor, perfect for looking out over Nantucket with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Good location for exploring all of the island. Madaquecham Magic

Our family had a wonderful week at this house. The pool is amazing, the grounds are gorgeous and the nearby beach is pristine. Definitely need 4-wheel drive to get to Madaquecham. Too far to walk easily and there are deep ruts in the sand road. Debbie was very accommodating throughout the entire process. She could not have been more helpful and was a pleasure to work with as we coordinated our large group's visit to lovely Nantucket.

Beautiful Property!

We had another wonderful vacation at Debbie and Ed's gorgeous Nantucket home! The pool setting could not be more lovely - and the recently built cabana has every convenience you could possibly want. The luxury linens in the bedrooms were brand new and an especially nice touch. We spent our days biking, playing tennis, hitting the nearby beach and enjoying the peace and quiet. We will be back!

Generous & kind owners...a spectacular property!

This may seem a bit unusual, but I decided it was well worth asking Debbie & Ed if I could write a 'pre-arrival' review for their beautiful home and property. To celebrate our 30th anniversary, my husband and I began to look at locations across the US and Europe. Nantucket ended up getting our vote - it is hard to beat the beauty of Nantucket in early fall. We looked at our options on a number of websites. There were many great choices during the time period we would be there...in town, on a beach, in a neighborhood, a property with more privacy, or a lovely hotel. We were close to confirming a decision to stay in a villa in town on the water. Before moving forward with that reservation, I decided to call Debbie with a few additional questions about their home and property. Over the past years, we have rented many homes through VRBO and Home Away, and always found the owners easy to work with. Working with Debbie and Ed was incredible! I have never encountered such a kind and generous owner who was just as excited as we are about celebrating our anniversary on Nantucket! Their home is perfectly located on the island and surrounded by beauty. The area is not overly crowded, but not isolated either. It appeals to people who appreciate unspoiled nature, the comfort of a beautiful home, tennis, swimming in a heated salt water pool, easy access to bike paths, beaches, and so much more. Conservation land surrounds their neighborhood, so the views and spectacular scenery will be preserved forever. The gorgeous home and property 'speak for themselves,' and the incredible generosity of Debbie and Ed is what sealed the deal for us! I will recommend this home to any friend who is heading to Nantucket! If you are considering a trip to Nantucket, give Debbie a call. We are counting down the days until we get there! (Please disregard arrival date. Since this review is being submitted before we arrive, I had to select a date that has already passed. We will be heading to Nantucket soon!)

Amazing vacation spot!

The pictures do not do this house or property justice. It's the perfect vacation spot for a group and absolutely gorgeous. The house, the pool and the tennis court are in fantastic condition and the kitchen and cabana have everything you need. The location is private, quiet and serene. We want to come back every summer!

Fathers Day family vacation to Nantucket

Wow, this property was perfect for our family. Our 10 year old twins loved the pool and also the tennis courts. So did we. The home was so clean, cozy and comfortable. We felt right at home when we arrived. Even with the rain and wind we enjoyed the beautiful home in jammies, making cookies and playing board games. Debbie and Ed, the owners take great pride in their home. Everything from the grounds, pool house, pool, tennis courts to the entire home is very well taken care of. The bedrooms are adorable and the linens and mattresses are TOP quality. We all slept great. The location of the property is close to town and very private. We ventured out daily, but really loved returning to the property. It was our home away from home for one week... I wish we could of stayed longer. We did not get a chance to use the pool house because of the weather. It is all set up and ready to have all day poolside dining. We cannot think of anything Debbie and Ed have left out on their property. They are very kind, generous and easy to deal with. If we ever get back to Nantucket, we would stay at this home. A little bit of Napa in Nantucket!

My family had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home in August. As lovely as the pictures look, we were unprepared for just how majestic the property is. The pool and pool house have a resort feel (similar to The Carneros Inn in Napa, CA) -- the setting is completely private and serene. It is impossible not to relax with views of the ocean, surrounding conservation land and lovely gardens - a natural haven for birds and butterflies. The pool, tennis court, court house (loaded with bikes and sports equipment!), large flat yard and long, circular drive were the perfect playground for the young kids and active adults in our group. The beach was a quick drive away - just stunning with only a sprinkling of other people - the surf was too rough to swim, but perfect for walking, playing in the sand, flying kites etc. The house was nicely renovated with a good flow for entertaining. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the small size and probably not ideal for a larger group in need of flexible sleeping options, but perfect for our family of five. Debbie was a wonderful hostess - warm and welcoming (a bottle of prosecco and chocolates upon arrival) and on top of any isues that came up during our stay. We can't wait to come back!

Madaquecham Home on Nantucket

This property was outstanding! Every detail was tended to - a beautiful lawn, with flower beds and plantings. The salt water pool was perfect for playing and swimming laps. Our family had a tennis tournament on the tennis courts, which was so much fun. The inside of the home was just as beautiful as the outside - a well-stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware, nice bathrooms and bedrooms, and comfortable living area and a great second-floor balcony with a large dining table and gas grill. We ate outside every night, enjoying the ocean view. I can't say enough about how perfect this house was. We had a wonderful time!

We found serenity in Madaquecham

We were in awe of this property from the moment we arrived via its circular drive. The landscaping, stone walls, and beautifully decorated home all exceeded our expectations. And the new pool and tennis court? Well, those amenities just made this perfect setting even better for a memorable Nantucket vacation. The property is in close proximity to the bike path and a dramatic sandy beach, and also has a nice ocean view from the upper deck. Discerning travelers seeking tranquility, a beautifully maintained home and a well stocked chef's kitchen are certain to be pleased.

Our names are Debbie and Ed. When we were first dating, many years ago, we vacationed on Cape Cod. Who would have dreamed that one day we would have our own summer home on the beautiful island of Nantucket, 30 miles off shore from Cape Cod. We purchased our first home on Nantucket in 1999. 10 wonderful summers were spent in that house. In 2008, we purchased and completely renovated this property. In 2022 we once again undertook a major renovation, making the house even more wonderful. We work hard most of the year, and look forward to our time on Nantucket where we can spend quality time with each other, our three daughters and their growing families.

We love Madequecham. It is the perfect get away. We think we have one of the nicest beaches on the island in our backyard. An article once appeared in The Wall Street Journal naming the author's 10 favorite beaches in the world, and Madequecham made the list! We agree. The property our home sits on is a one of a kind. We feel very lucky.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Staying in this home is so relaxing. It is comfortable, warm, cozy, and very pretty, with all the modern amenities, but maintaining that unique Nantucket feeling. A true find! Please don't be concerned about the proximity of our area to the airport-we do not have a problem with air plane noise. We also do not have a problem with mosquitoes! We love to run on the magnificent paths through the conservation land surrounding our home. I especially love running through the path which bisects the former "Mellon Estate." Another favorite activity of ours is taking our bikes on the Milestone Rd bike path, circling around to the Polpis bike path, and stopping in Sconset for an ice cream or lunch, before heading back. You can afford to eat an icecream when you just biked 17 miles! (or you can take the short way to Sconset, which is only 3 miles) Our beach is amazing. It is almost never crowded. Even in the height of the summer, you can always find a spot to sit away from everyone else if that's what you prefer. We love sitting on the beach until sunset, followed by stargazing on one of the clearest skies we have ever seen. I still can't believe it when I come home at night and see the milky way, and if I catch it right, shooting stars!
Our family was so excited to have our own pool and tennis court starting in 2011. It is a dream come true for us. I love to swim laps, and my husband is an avid tennis player. Our family eagerly awaits our summer vacation each year. We hope you will chose to spend your summer vacation in our little piece of paradise next year as well.
