Please be my guest and enjoy the serene comfort of my beautiful Sedona home, which features a priceless view of the most photographed monument in Arizona, Cathedral Rock. Many of my guests from around the world return at the same time each year to enjoy their favorite activities. They tell me that they love to sit on the front porch and watch the sun rise over Cathedral Rock and the fiery parade of color over the mountain range at sunset. Full moons you will have to experience yourself! Guests also enjoy the 5 minute walk to Crescent Moon State Park where they hike the trails, swim in Oak Creek and sunbathe on the sandy red beach.
My home is 1350 sq. ft. and is open and airy. It was built in 2000. The ground floor is one large area that includes the kitchen, dining room and living room with large picture windows that are filled with the view of Cathedral Rock. Color schemes are soft and natural, light hardwood floors, plush carpeting in bedrooms, granite counter tops in the kitchen. Laundry room, large front patio and carport are off the kitchen.
Master suite is upstairs with spa bath for 2, walk-in closet, and wrap around TREX deck facing the fiery rocks. You would be remiss not to experience Sedona in this relaxing, clean and calm retreat.
My name is Florene Villane and my husband is Bill Edom. I am a College Professor Southern Californina in Film. Bill is a Photographer and you will see his beautiful picture (Pathway to Heaven) in the house. We stay at our home in Sedona to be inspired, relax and commune with nature. We built this house with a view in every window. It has a special energy for the artistic soul. Enjoy everyday waking up to nature's beauty of light, color, harmony and balance. You will return home with that 'Sedona Glow'.
Florene Villane purchased this house in 2000
I chose this location to build our vacation home because of its physical beauty with optimum showcase of 4 seasons. The availability of stimulating cultural events is a big plus. Sedona has become a mecca of artistic, cultural, spiritual, and sporting activities.
This is a serene home with awesome views from all sides. It is located only 10 minutes from the heart of Sedona, surrounded by a mixture of culture , nature and activities for the whole family. 30 minutes to 2 hrs to visit Jerone , the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Colorado River.
What a wonderful experience. The house was lovely with everything you need. The view from the house of Cathedral rock was stunning. The picture window in the living room is placed perfectly for viewing Cathedral Rock. Would definitely stay there again. Would buy the place if we could. :) Loved the entire month's visit. Sedona is magical and soothing. Worth every penny.
Only superlatives can properly describe this lovely, elegantly comfortable home. The owners obviously have settled for nothing less than perfection in furnishing the place, both inside and out. I had the good fortune to stay there for 5 weeks in June and July, 2016, and enjoyed every moment. My days would usually start with breakfast on the front patio, while the sun rose and the birds hopped and twittered in the hedges. Often I took a hike on one of the many trails which I could access without my needing to drive. And the hikes, just like the windows in the house and the veranda upstairs, all offered breathtaking views of magical Cathedral Rock. One of my fondest memories is of a thunderstorm over the Rock, when she was crowned in a diamond tiara of lightning. Some days I happily hung out at the house, reading in the comfortable chairs, cooking in the perfectly appointed kitchen, drinking in the light show on Cathedral Rock as the sun moved across the sky and the clouds did their constant shape-shifting dance. Such peace and tranquility! My favorite evening activity was to sit on the veranda, sip something cool and watch the colors of the Rock cycle thru a breathtaking gamut of oranges and reds. The nightly silence was only broken by the drum role of thunder or perhaps the songs of the local coyote chorus. Other days I drove into "town," or West Sedona, which offered everything that I needed-two movie theaters; two gyms; an award-winning public library which offered classes and concerts; several yoga studios, (7 Centers is my favorite); 4 grocery stores; art galleries and mystical Sedona specialty shops galore; and amenities such as a computer repair clinic and a friendly, knowledgeable mechanic. All of this was less than 10 minutes by car. No two trips were the same, set as they were against the backdrop of the ever changing light on Sedona's justly famous red rocks. An added treat was the helpfulness and easy accessibility of the management company for a few minor problem that came up. And the perfect finishing touch was the friendliness and attentiveness of Florene, the owner, who shared ideas on things to do that were off the beaten path and regaled me with stories of native American traditions relevant to the house and area. All in all, I felt that I was staying in the home of a kind, generous friend; I hope to return to 25 Zane Gray Lane for many years to come.
Spent the month of August 2015 at this great abode. Frankly it's difficult to imagine not completely enjoying a stay in this home. This lovely home is situated to take maximum advantage of the astounding landscape that surrounds it. The views are so spectacular that we could have virtually spent our entire stay staring out the windows & sitting on the terraces. But of course we didn't do that as the location is perfect for walking right out the door and taking wonderful hikes to and around Cathedral Rock and Oak Creek (great spot to cool off, wade, swim in the Summer). The home's location also provides ready access to all parts of Sedona, films, art, a tremendous public library, beautiful community pool and some genuinely great restaurants for those who enjoy
eating out. Inside the home is extremely comfortable, well equipped, very relaxed and relaxing. We spent several hot days days simply reading, watching DVDs, and always glancing out windows at the mesmorizing view--completely content. Since our stay was in August it feels relevant to add that this great house has ample A/C and very comfortable beds--important for those of us with back problems. The owners are a pleasure to interact with in arranging a stay, very open, warm, and clearly have great taste as evidenced by their home's design & furnishing. One thing I found unusual in a positive way--their management company is also a pleasure to deal with. If there is any problem at all it is dealt with immediately. If any issue or question arises it is always clear exactly what to do to resolve it. Not that there is likely to be any problem as this residence is thoughtfully equipped--for example several flashlights, comforting during magnificent summer thunderstorms. Numerous delightful spots to sit outside on either first floor patios or the upper bedroom's massive deck. Another bonus--great neighbors, friendly folks. It's great fun to stop and talk when out for a walk. Genuinely exceeded all of my expectations even though I had of course viewed the photos on the VRBO site. For example the night sky in this location is unbelievably gorgeous--due to a relative lack of night-time light pollution and clean air the nightly spectacle is quite moving. There is simply so much beauty in, at and around this residence. Seriously hope to return to this home and feel honored that the owners chose to share it with us.
My husband and I had the pleasure of spending six weeks in this very special rental. We had an idea of what the house would look like from the photographs on the web site, but were not prepared for the spectacular scenery and beauty of the place when we arrived. We were so excited as we explored the house. Everything was beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained. We particularly enjoyed the front deck during our stay, gazing at Cathedral Rock as we sipped our morning coffee. The master bedroom was a delight, surrounded by windows with a private balcony. I spent many nights star gazing and even some early mornings watching the setting moon. Florene was very helpful and even sent us a welcome email to check and see how we were making out. We really enjoyed visiting the 14 acre oasis of the Amitabha Stupa temple, hiking the red rock trails and partaking of Sedona's many festivals and events. We also regularly frequented the Wildflower Bakery for healthy, quick meals or snacks. Everything was located close to 10 minutes away from the rental and easily accessible by car. We also spent a lot of time in Cottonwood where there is wonderful music and open stages especially My Dobro Bar and Grill for anyone who is a music lover (also very accessible from the rental). We absolutely loved Sedona and Florene's lovely sanctuary and will return again. If you are seeking a peaceful place, want to connect to our beautiful earth and a chance to experience a small piece of paradise, this is the place to stay.
Staying at this home was absolutely perfect. Phenomenal views from so many areas of the home. Everything was in working order. We used the fireplace, oven, fridge, cd player, tv, ceiling fans and grill without any problems at all. This home was in a very private area and close to Cathedral Rock. We felt like we were away from it all. I highly recommend this home.
We had an amazing experience staying in this home. The layout maximizes the gorgeous views with large windows and a to die for balcony. When we arrived we felt like we were entering our own home, very clean, organized and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect as well, everything we needed from the downtown area was just a short drive and the parks and hikes that are near the home are to die for. If you want to have a relaxing vacation this is a great place to stay...there is even a jacuzzi tub with a view of cathedral rock. It doesn't get any better than that!
