Weissenstein Castle ruins are only 1 km away, where there is a glass sculpture park.

The environment of the Waldferiendorf is very green, in the summer you can canoe in the river rain or just hike. And in winter you can go skiing on the mountain "Geißkopf" or cross-country skiing.

There is also a forest museum in nearby Zwiesel and the Bavarian Forest National Park has several visitor centers.
