About Pandora Nash-Karner
The Cottage has been in our family for two generations. We have lived on the bay for almost four decades and love it, and love to share it with others. The Cottage was originally built to shelter the duck hunters and fishermen who were attracted here, but it was soon bought in the 1950's by our parents and was used as a residence while they built their dream home next door. The Cottage has been our family's guesthouse since then and we've recently made it available as a vacation rental. The charm as a family retreat has been retained through the complete refurbishing received in 2009. We have designed the Cottage to provide our guests with the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in the Central Coast experience. We are not the Hyatt (on purpose!) -- just the opposite. We provide a unique EXPERIENCE to our guests. We want them to feel they are staying in their favorite aunt's beach cottage while she is away sailing through the South Seas, and she left them the keys to her special place and her prized possessions. What our guests won't find here are ringing phones, blaring TV or fax machines, or lists of rules permanently affixed to the walls -- all by design. We we do provide wireless internet service and a 38' HDTV for watching DVDs, plus over 400 DVDs to choose from. We want the cottage to provide guests with the ability to ESCAPE the fast-paced world. We've tried to provide everything we can think of to make our guests feel pampered and comfortable. And if ever they need anything, we are happy to make sure they have it within minutes. Come see why we have over 170 5-star reviews.

Why Pandora Nash-Karner chose Los Osos
The Green Cottage has been a private guest house for our family for over 6 decades. When it is not used by the family, it is available for visitors. Come see why so many people think it is so special.
What makes this Cottage unique
The bay is part of the National Estuary Program, as well as a designated bird sanctuary. There are many places nearby to view birds, including a private dock. Morro Bay is an important stopover on the Pacific Flyway and winter home to numerous bird species. The north coast area of San Luis Obispo County is a haven for artists, wine and food aficionados, water sports enthusiasts, antique collectors, hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians, and people who appreciate quiet, undiscovered get-away locations. When the lure of open spaces calls you, follow winding country roads to award-winning vineyards for wine tasting, or to grassy hilltops for a picnic overlooking the Pacific. Beautiful Hearst Castle is just 35-minutes away, and beyond that is the splendor of the Big Sur coastline. San Luis Obispo's initials -- SLO -- precisely describes the speed a visitor should use in examining the area's treasures and pleasures. Go to fast and you'll miss of the off-the beaten path venues hidden back in the hills and canyons like the Pozo Saloon, See Canyon apple farms, Tibor Canyon organic olive oil Ranch or the charming town of Harmony, with a population of 15.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We enjoyed 3 nights of relaxing solitude on the back deck watching the bird life and changing sun and fog patterns.. great walkable neighborhood very close to the bird sanctuary.. Pandora seems to really enjoy meeting her guests and takes pride in providing everything you might need to make your visit so comfortable..From the fresh flowers, ground coffee and bedside mints.. all was so welcoming and thoughful.. hope to return soon to the great hospitality at the cozy Green Cottage
Great little spot to get away. Bring what food and drink you need, everything else is there. I was particularly impressed with the nice sharp kitchen knives. Thanks for the lovely bottle of wine Pandora. It was a pleasure to meet you. We really enjoyed your little green treasure. 👍
Thank you for the lovely review. It's funny you mentioned the sharp knives. My husband prides himself in sharpening the knives every 2 weeks or so. We once thought we should put out a warning about super sharp knives, but haven't. People figure it out. We love that people appreciate so many of the little details that we think are important. Please return soon.
Serene but endless possibilities
Can’t say enough good things about the Green Cottage. Pandora was great to work with too!
It was so quiet yet so many adventures within close proximity awaits all who stay in this warm and inviting cottage. Clean, very well stocked and fresh flowers too!
Hiking trails, kayaking, shopping, or sitting on the deck watching the tide and sunsets you will never lack for something to do or hold your interest.
The cottage is filled with an eclectic array of local and international collections. Surrounding area complements the artistic endeavors of the owner.
Wish we had been able to stay longer and hope our travels take us back to the little Green Cottage on Morro Bay.
Another stay in paradise
I've lost count - six or seven times we've stayed here. The fact that we've stayed here so often is testament to how well we like it there. Clean, quiet, always fresh flowers in the kitchen when we arrive (from the owner's garden!), and the view! Wow!
We love our return guests. It does say a lot about the Cottage, but even more about the guests who love the quiet and the surrounding nature. We get to know what our return guests' like and can suggest cool things for them to do or see when they're here. Sioux (our Cottage Keeper) and I work hard to create a perfect welcoming atmosphere, and as long as the roses are in bloom, the fresh flowers do come from our garden. The views, well they go on forever.
So peaceful, serene, beautiful and quiet
What a wonderful get away, enjoyed the beauty & peace and quiet, the view is spectacular.
It's true, you can see forever. Visit and see for yourself!
Beauty, Peace & Renewal
Thanks to the spectacular setting and impeccable care of owner Pandora and cottage keeper Sioux, Green Cottage offers a perfect combination of beauty, nourishing solitude, and comfort. You can also engage in a range activities in this special part of the Central Coast. Immaculately kept, beautifully appointed, quiet, and right on the southern edge of Morro Bay, the cottage has stunning vistas of water, dunes, mountains, and sky from the kitchen and deck. The birdlife — pelicans, snowy egrets, osprey, and shore birds — testify to the health of this marine sanctuary. While we make most of our own meals in the well-equipped kitchen, there are plenty of local options when we want to eat out. Nearby state park Montana de Oro offers easy to challenging hikes overlooking dunes, ocean, and coves. Sweet Springs Nature Preserve is a 10-minute walk away. There is a lovely Farmers Market in Baywood (a 5-minute drive) providing fresh vegetables and baked goods. Any practical needs are handled by the Ralphs, Rite Aid, and Ace Hardware in Los Osos. Though we tend to stay at the cottage and local environs, you can easily access vibrant San Luis Obispo (which has a Trader Joe's among many other shopping options) and scenic towns up the coast such as Cambria and San Simeon. This last visit (our fourth), I was in desperate need of renewal. The moment I stepped into the cottage I relaxed. After spending hours soaking in the ever-changing views on the deck, sleeping long and well in the comfy king-sized bed, and enjoying films each night, thanks to the excellent DVD collection, I returned to my life completely restored!
We LOVE it when we hear the Cottage provides the perfect venue for rest, renewal, relaxation, restoration, and exploration. That's what Sioux (our fabulous Cottage Keeper) and I aim to accomplish -- to make our guests' stays exactly what they want and need.
