PEACE OF CHOCOLATE is a 2-story villa with a pool located in the neighborhood of Chocolate Hole. It right around the corner from the Westin on Great Cruz Bay Road and is just 5 minutes from St. John’s main town of Cruz Bay and grocery stores are even closer!
Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck looking out at the activities going on in the bay as crews prepare for sailing, snorkeling or fishing trips and the Westin shuttle boat brings guests and employees to and from the hotel. It is a short 15-minute walk to the end of the Westin beach where you can schedule outings or rentals with Cruz Bay Watersports or have lunch or dinner at the Westin's beachside restaurant, Snorkels. You may even be able to join in on a volleyball game on the beach! You can also catch a taxi to town at the Westin, if you don't want to wait for one to come to the villa.
In the evening, enjoy your favorite beverage and dinner while watching the sunset and later you can hear the laughter and squeals from the night kayakers and paddle boarders as they encounter tarpon feeding in the bay.
I have a whole house solar system with 3 Tesla power walls. There is air conditioning in the main living area, as well as each bedroom. The home has some traditional rock wall features inside and skylights let in lots of additional daylight! There is a pool and lush tropical gardens with flowering shrubs, fruit trees and 5 kinds of palm trees.
A 10-foot-wide path at the corner of the property leads to the kayaks and the entrance to Great Cruz Bay with a rock wall bulkhead (no beach).

Beach towels, chairs and a cooler provided.

Two families each with 2 teen girls and we had a great time. Lin is great to deal with. House was clean. Property comes with beach chairs, coolers, snorkel gear, paddle boards, etc. There are even a couple of cute kittens that will greet you near the carport every morning. We cooked breakfast most mornings and grilled one night and house had everything we needed. Grocery store is a quick 7 minute drive away. Neighborhood is safe, quiet and all around Peace of Chocolate was a great find. Thanks again Lin for your hospitality.

Great stay near Cruz Bay

The house and location were wonderful. We loved the water access for paddle boards and kayaks, and the upstairs deck and gathering space were fantastic for our group of 6. The upstairs bedrooms were very comfortable but the downstairs rooms were a disappointment. There was a strong musty/chemical odor in the lower level despite our best attempts to air them out. The twin beds would work well for kids, but were too small for our guys who were over 6’ tall.

Hi Bob, Thanks so much for the review! I wish I'd known about the smell you experienced so I could have done something about it. Wonderful location with great views of Cruz Bay.

Loved the private pool and access to the beach! Everything went very smoothly and the owner was great, she let us drop off suitcases early and was really helpful! Would definitely stay here again!

beautiful home in a great location

We love staying on Great Cruz Bay Rd. It’s an awesome location and so easy to get to town, grocery stores, beaches and restaurants. The owner Lin is very sweet and easy to contact. We loved having the bay to swim in after a day at the beach. We all loved counting the iguanas from the pool. Highly recommend this sweet home!

Beautiful home in perfect location

Lin is an amazing host and her home is beautiful. The downstairs offers 2bdr’s, one with two twin beds and one with a king. The upstairs has three more bedrooms with great views. 5 minute drive or taxi down to Cruz bay (ferry, bars, restaurants). Highly recommend!

Fit our needs perfectly!

We had a large group that traveled to St. John for a wedding. We wanted a villa we could all stay together in and this one seemed like it would work. It more than worked! It was perfect! Everyone had their own bedroom and was happy with the bed sizes and all but one of the rooms basically had a private bathroom. We made good use of the available amenities: fridge, stove, kitchen etc, beach gear, swimming pool, grill and the deck. Would definitely recommend staying here!

2 feedback items: 1. Paying for clean up should include trash removal. Was awful to lug out trash for 10 people onto our taxi with luggage. 2. The taxi drivers had great difficulty finding the villa. I did have directions and landmarks provided by owner that were great. Motion lights or solar lights and signs/address would be very helpful with finding the entry and making it down the steps. Overall a wonderful place to stay

A piece of chocolate heaven

Our family had stayed here once before and would not return unless we got the same house. I was lucky enough to find a weekend that we could all get there and the house was available. The house is perfect. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and two baths and downstairs there are two bedrooms and one bath. If we had teenagers, the downstairs would be a dream for both parents and children. It is like an apartment all by itself. The pool is very refreshing after a day at the beach and very well maintained. It also has a spectacular view of Great Cruz Bay. We spent the nights out on the patio or the pool looking at the beautiful scenery and just chatting (since we do not see each other often enough). The manager is absolutely wonderful - very accommodating and easy to get hold of. She was very kind to my sister when she showed up early, having forgot the check-in time I told her. I just can't say enough good things about this home and the woman who manages it. It is a dream place to stay.

Perfect, island home away from home!

We travel regularly and use home rentals most of the time so this was the perfect choice for our family of five. Positioned in a more residential part of the island (as opposed to the bustling, tourist hub of Cruz Bay) this lovely home allowed for more space, home amenities, and peaceful sleep. Last time we visited St. John we stayed in the heart of Cruz Bay and loved the fact that we could walk to restaurants in the evening so we missed that, however, Great Cruz Bay is super close and parking lots are well positioned so we didn't feel like we missed out on any of the evening festivities by staying a little further away from the hustle and bustle. In fact, we enjoyed our retreat every evening after full days exploring the island and the incredible beaches, we were all pleased to have a the space to find a quiet corner to read or chat about the day on the spacious deck with harbor views. We enjoyed our stay at Peace of Chocolate! PS - Small side note - they had recently cleared out the lot in front of this home when we were there which made for clear views of the bay. I'm not sure what they have planned for the land in front of the rental property? Hopefully nothing that ruins the view.

The house was clean and very well equipped for any outing, beach chairs, coolers, towels, etc. The outdoor area has beautiful view with water access. The pool was well maintained. Very comfortable inside with a well equipped kitchen. We did not use the downstairs apartment.

This was an incredible spot for our two families and truly checked every box. The location is hard to beat, with stunning views of Great Cruz Bay and the added bonus of seeing St. Thomas sparkle at night. It was the perfect mix of peaceful and convenient, with easy water access and super convenient to nearby grocery stores. The home itself was spotless and very well cared for, and the host made everything seamless from start to finish. We made some amazing memories here and will absolutely be back.

Location is one of the many positives about this villa. It is easy to reach and close to town while still private with unique views of Great Cruz Bay. So close are you to the water, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the activities of the bay. A 1 minute walk down my private path allows access to the water.

The interior boasts the classic rock wall features of traditional Caribbean homes.
