About Kevin Forrest
My wife and I and our two young adult daughters live in the northern suburbs of Chicago. We would love to have you and your family as our guests in our home away from home.
Kevin Forrest purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Kevin Forrest chose Sturgeon Bay
My family and I have traveled to Door County since I was a child. My wife and daughters so loved spending time at my parents' home down the road, that we all decided that we wanted to own our very own slice of paradise.
What makes this Cottage unique
We enjoy the very homey feeling that our property has. It is a very comfortable home with many places for relaxation.

Very clean, tidy cottage. Adequate space for us, 4 adults.
Very private (hidden) cottage; beautiful forest scenery with lots of outside seating areas. You need to walk down the road to get access to the lake, which wasn't a problem for us.....but might be a ways for small children to walk. The kitchen seemed very well equipped and overall very useful even stocked with staples.
Very comfortable and nicely appointed property.
Unfortunately we were only here to sleep! I’d love to come back and stay for an extended trip so I could enjoy the lake, porch, fire ring, deck and grill. The only thing we seemed to be missing were pillows for the pull out couch but we made do with borrowing off other beds. Kitchen has everything. Hosts even left us coffee and bottle of wine. Would rent again in a heartbeat. ❤️
Great get-away spot
We had a great time at Hidden Glidden. We really enjoyed the homey atmosphere and the close access to the Lake, good accommodations, heaters, grill and kitchen worked great. We made two trips up the thumb, and ate at a couple great spots recommended in the white book. Our suggestions for improvement were: replace non-microwavable dishware with microwavable; keep a flashlight handy for power-outs, and place the power company listing in the phone book; Telephone did not work; we did not use the dining table because the setting was so beautiful and detailed and we didn't want to chance not getting it set up right after; switch on lamp in first bedroom to left of entry is broken; The VCR/DVD was not able to connect to the television in the great room (great movie collection though!); beds were a little soft for us. Had a great time in Door County. Very peaceful back patio/deck, enjoyed the house very much!
We loved the cottage and it's location. It was very peaceful and quite. It was comfortable and nicely decorated. We were unable to get the televisions to work, there were many remote controls, but it certainly didn't hurt for us to go without for a couple of days. You may want to take some bottle water for drinking, the water has a lot of iron in it. Nice welcome gifts also, a local wine and Door County coffee.
Clean, peaceful, great location
We loved the area and staying off the main strip. Very cozy and charming cottage. Thank you for opening your home to us, we will be back
Quiet, rustic location to get away from it all
The home was small but adequate for our family of two adults and two children. It's located on Glidden Drive, which runs parallel to Lake Michigan. The home is located across the street from the lake and access is a quick walk down Glidden Drive. With young children and/or lots of gear, you may need to drive but there are a couple of parking spots at the access point. The property is ~6 miles from Whitefish Dunes State Park, which has an amazing beach, and nice hiking trails. It is about 30 minutes from the more touristy parts of the peninsula. If you prefer a quieter, more subdues DC experience, this is a good place. If you want to be in the thick of it, it's a bit of a drive. Overall, the property had a rustic quality with a wooded yard and many outdoor relaxation spaces. The furnishings and space was as described and the indoor spaces are very clean. The window screens could use a good cleaning due to bugs and cobwebs but that is part of the rustic charm. The owners provide plenty of basic supplies and cooking utensils, only asking you to replace what you use. My only real complaint was the water quality. The water had a very strong sulfur/iron smell. We bought bottled water and took quick showers. Par for the course when dealing with well water, I am afraid.
