American Pines Cabins are located on a mountain meadow surrounded by the Black Hills forest with Battle Creek running through the property. Each cabin has 2 bedrooms, each with 1 queen bed, sofa sleeper in the living room, fully furnished kitchen, & bathroom with tub/shower combo.
Enjoy relaxing on the deck while BBQing, watching the children play on the playground, trying your luck at gold panning in the creek, or making S'mores over the firepit as you watch the stars come out. Wake up to deer right outside your bedroom window & start your day with a brief hike up to Ingersoll mine just 1 mile away from your front door to view a piece of Black Hills history. Discover more with the Walking Tour of Historic Keystone. Spend your days sightseeing at Mt. Rushmore, drive through the scenic Needles Highway, hike to the top of Black Elk Peak, or explore one of the many underground wonders including Rushmore Cave, Wind Cave, or Jewel Cave. View live Bison in Custer State Park, drive through wildlife park at Bear Country USA, & view the largest private collection of reptiles, including Maniac, the largest captive crocodile in North America at Reptile Gardens & then return to a quiet evening back at the cabin, just 15 minutes from most major attractions in the Black Hills. Take another day to get off the beaten path & explore the hundred of miles of trails in the Black Hills by renting an ATV/UTV right from our property.

Our cabin had everything we needed. The location was perfect closed to the village and Mt.Rushmore but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful setting. Our visit to Mt Rushmore was wonderful.

Great visit!

The cabin was clean and had basic kitchen supplies. Thankful the cookware was in great condition. Host has an attention to detail in preparing the cabin. Very close to Mt Rushmore and short drive to Custer SP. We really enjoyed our hikes and the area.

Fantastic location

Booked this for my wife, cousin and kid and they loved it. Tons of deer right outside, playground, beautiful place and atmosphere. Only complaint was WiFi wasn't working, but they completely enjoyed the cabin and nature. Really close to Mt Rushmore!

Great Location

We had a great stay. Quiet area and really close to Keystone. There are so many places to see and this location was perfect for it. It was small for our family of 5 but youngest is 16 so smaller kids might be better than older ones. If it were just my husband and 2 small kids, it would be a perfect size. Easy check in and everything we needed. 5

Mount Rushmore, etc!

This property was an excellent fit for our family and our trip! The size of the cabin was just right. It was also extremely clean and well organized. It was equipped with everything we needed, too! The location made it super accessible to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse, but was also far enough off of the main highway to allow for peace and quiet. We enjoyed just sitting on the porch and listening to nature. The surrounding area is just beautiful!

Perfect location

This property was truly amazing. We didn't have words for it. The train goes right by the cabin which was the highlight for our kids to watch every day when we were at the cabin. The creek behind it was so fun to watch. Close to town but far enough away that you felt like you weren't near anybody.

Mt Rushmore Cabin Oasis

Loved the property and our time in South Dakota! It was located near Mt Rushmore, national parks, and caves. The owners/property managers were great to work with, made the check-in and out process super easy and we’re available if needed.

We had two great and easy nights at the cabin. The weather was beautiful and we slept with the windows open. The beds were comfortable including the pull out couch. We cooked on the stove top, made coffee and ice cubes. It's a cozy place but had all we needed. We didn't need much space as we were out and about most of the time. Mount Rushmore, crazy horse, Jewel Cave, Sylvan lake, needles highway and more!

Wonderful stay in a small cabin

We really enjoyed our stay here. When we first walked in we thought it was really small, but once we got settled in, it was the perfect size. It was myself, my husband, and my 8 year old. She loved having her own room instead of a fold out couch. The location was awesome. Super close to Mount Rushmore. There is also the 1880 train from Keystone to Hill City right up the road that we did. The track actually runs right behind the property, so we could have seen it go by if we had been there at the right time. We also went over to the Badlands, Custer State Park, Rushmore Tram adventures, the mountain coaster, Bear Country (which was awesome) and we could have done so much more if we’d been there longer. Great places to eat include Boss’ Pizza & Chicken and Ruby House. I highly recommend staying here, and I would love to stay here again.

Birthday Wishes Come True

The cabin was absolutely perfect! All my husband wanted for his birthday in May was to see the monument one last time but this trip was so much more because of American Pines and their location as well as the pet friendly atmosphere. We recently rescued two pups less than a year old and this was their first trip away from home. We almost did not go because of them but Becki and Austin were fantastic. The office wasn't always available and I did want some Stronger 413 coffee but we had to leave before I really had a chance to connect with them. Will theck out the website for it.

Best birthday trip ever!!

My birthday was April 7 and my husband’s was April 8. Our children paid for a trip to anywhere we wanted to go. We chose Mt. Rushmore and Mike found American Pines cabins. Best choice ever. We brought our grown daughter and she loved it too. She wants to take her family back and stay in the cabins.

Our love for God, country, & family is why we do what we do & at the heart of our business. We've been blessed to call the Black Hills home & would love to share it with you. Becki's family is originally from Keystone. She has relatives that helped pioneer the town as well as help carve Mt. Rushmore. Jarod's family is from Wall & Kadoka, South Dakota, the Badlands area. Beside Mt. Rushmore being the National Monument, Keystone is full of living history of the miner era that once made the town thrive. The Black Hills is also full of geological history & a favorite for rock hunters, which we are, & rock climbers, which we aren't:). The small hometown atmosphere of the Black Hills as well as the many diverse sites & attractions makes this the perfect place to make memories for a lifetime, again & again.
