Fall season at Casa Bella...
Enjoy the quiet time of year in Twain Harte, free from the summer crowds, with sunny afternoons and cool evenings.
During the day, enjoy sunning on the deck, golf at our local golf course, a hike, or just perfect the Art of Doing Nothing.
In the evening, stroll downtown for a leisurely meal, you are within walking distance of all of Twain Harte's restaurants. Or...
Have a barbecue on the deck or cook dinner in our well equipped kitchen. The granite counter was made for happy hours.
Later on, have a glass of wine by the fire, read a book, play a board game, or pop some popcorn then curl up and watch a movie.
Casa Bella has many charms, original art work, leaded glass windows, rustic fir floors, and a French armoire. Recent renovations have given this stylish mountain retreat a fresh, new look. The great room features a convenient gas fireplace, large, comfy leather chairs and a big couch for reading, lazing, or watching movies. There is also a futon which opens into a full bed. The bedrooms each have a queen bed with down comforters. The first bedroom has a peaked pine ceiling, antique, leaded glass windows, and a French armoire. The second bedroom has a full bookshelf and a connected half bath.
In winter, Dodge Ridge is 20 miles up the highway, where you can spend the days skiing and snowboarding, or go to Leland High Sierra Snowplay in Strawberry, for sledding and tubing.
Make a day trip (just over 2 hours) to visit world famous Half Dome, one of many splendors in Yosemite National Park.
Also, visit the many nearby wineries, bistros, art galleries, and boutiques. Sonora is 15 minutes away, Murphys is 45. After your travels you will look forward to returning to the pine forests of Twain Harte and the quiet comfort of Casa Bella.

Casa Bella has been in my family for 51 years. In 1965 our family went to Twain Harte for a two week summer vacation. We rented a rustic little cabin. As soon as we arrived we were all charmed by the town, the woodsy surroundings, and wonderful Twain Harte Lake. My mother immediately found a cabin to buy. We have enjoyed many wonderful times here over the years and hope you will, too.
I like to take a project to work on while vacationing. I am always inspired in Twain Harte, and can find plenty of room to work, either on the deck or on the wide kitchen counter. When I need a break, I hike up the road, then down and around to a beautiful little lake.
I love the smell of Twain Harte. It comes from a plant called Mountain Misery. I can't tell you why it is so named, but it is a delightful smell and it tells me I'm home.
We loved Casa Bella. A perfect mixture of rustic & up to date. Beautifully decorated with gorgeous high ceilings and light fixtures in the shape of stars.
The cabin was warm and clean upon our arrival. We immediately felt at home. Great choice of movies, books, and board games to keep the family busy during the cold winder nights. Loved waking up to a group of deer in the yard!
Natalie has done an amazing job & we will definitely be back soon!
I like the privacy and autonomy of a home. However since we're just two people, we can only find the rack 'em and stack 'em sleeps 12 kinds of rentals. Casa Bella was the perfect size for us! Ideal for a couple or small family. Not sure about two couples as you'd have to share a shower, but hey, if you really, REALLY like each other, then it might work.
The place is casual but very tasteful. This is how I would decorate a home. You know how most rentals have Aunt Jean's old sofa from 1983 that her Afghan hound "Biscuits " used to sleep on? Where you feel if you sit on it you might come up with an unexplainable rash? Not so with Casa Bella! VERY clean, comfortable furniture. You feel like you're at home.
Nice, modern kitchen (rare). Love the granite counter. Very practical. Some appliances are a bit older but since we don't cook much up here it was more than enough for us.
Bathrooms are simple in a charming lake cabin style, but also modern. Natalie invested in the important things--new toilets, sinks and shower.
Comfy mattress. We have back issues and had no problem.
Didn't miss the lack of air conditioning either. It gets cool at night and we just opened the gorgeous glass windows in the master at night and were very comfortable. Who comes to Twain Harte to sit inside the house with the windows closed?
Natalie is very easy to deal with and responded promptly to my several queries. After signing a pretty straight forward contract (basically a common sense "Please don't take a dump on the sofa" type contract) and paying through Pay Pal we were set.
I would highly recommend Casa Bella. A real little gem in the woods.
Please note: if you have a four wheel drive, you can ignore this. If you have a four door sedan you will want to turn into the driveway SLOWLY. We drove in like we would at home and got a bouncy surprise. Husband said it made him feel like Matt Damon in "The Martian" trying not to roll the Mars Pathfinder Rover. No harm done but remember the terrain in Twain Harte is not as paved as you might be used to. Drive carefully.
Natalie has the perfect setup with Casa Bella. The cabin has a nice layout and it's been kept up-to-date and clean. All of the furniture, linens, etc. are in good taste and high quality. The place was warm and welcoming when we arrived. It was a perfect place to stay for our little family when we wanted a place for a short stay while skiing at Dodge Ridge. We walked to dinner at The Rock and drove to a sledding hill...in addition to skiing at Dodge Ridge. You never know what you are going to get into when you rent something for the first time. In this case, what we got was far better than expected. My kids are begging to return already.
We had a wonderful stay. Very nice and cozy cabin. Easy access to things to do in the area. Easy in and easy out. We look forward to having some future stays.
Third summer we have been at this cabin. Such a wonderful place, everything you need!! Great location with a short walk to downtown. Great communications with the owner!! Natalie is the best to work with!! We had a special request that she graciously accommodated!! Looking forward to coming back again!! Possibly in October for our anniversary!!
We just loved Casa Bella! The location was perfect (an easy walk to downtown). The decor was really great and we arrived to a beautiful fire in the fireplace. Nathalie was so easy to work with. We can't wait to come back in the summer and use the deck and BBQ!
