Five bedrooms (three ocean-view), eight beds, and four full baths sleep 14 across three levels. Full kitchen with pantry, ocean-view balconies, fast WiFi, washer/dryer, gas grill, and beach gear included (chairs, boogie boards, shade). Peak summer weeks run Saturday to Saturday. Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
-all remotes returned to original location -clean grill if used -move all indoor/outdoor furniture back to original location -remove all beach/pool toys
-leave SHIBUMI in original location that it was found in or a $300 charge will be added to your account Any excess cleaning required will be charged $200 fee that is paid directly to our cleaning crew
-wash all dirty dishes/put away. Start dishwasher

Check in was a breeze and the property was spacious as we had 10 adults and 3 children. Of the 27 years we’ve been coming to the Emerald Isle this had to be in our top 3 homes! The owner was very nice and answered all my questions really quickly.

This beachfront property is beautiful with a spacious kitchen, dining room and family room. The bedrooms were very comfortable and allowed for a wonderful stay with our extended family. The decks provided amazing views with rockers to sip our coffee in the morning or to watch the sunset. The property owner even supplied a Shibumi beach shade for our use during the week.

Our first stay at this property…started off a bit rocky…couldn’t check in at 4p as promised…had to wait outside the property for over an hour for the cleaning crew to finish. The house was mostly clean but we had to vacuum the downstairs living room and sweep up under the dining table to remove noticeable debris.Had several maintenance issues throughout the week…A/c no working on 2nd floor…A/C unit constantly leaking on 3rd floor, linen issues, major outlets not working, etc.I felt like I was a property manager bringing all these small maintenance issues to the host instead of enjoying my vacation. We LOVED the pool!! And the easy access to the ocean. WiFi worked great! Kitchen had all the amenities we needed! Was nice having access to extra floats, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc.The house overall feels like a high use rental that needs some TLC.

Emerald Isle Family vacation

Loved our time at Shore Thing

We loved our time at Shore Thing. Everything was excellent. Plenty of room, well-equipped kitchen (loved having the second fridge), comfortable beds, large pool, all kinds of beach gear provided and just steps to the beach. We are already planning our return to Shore Thing.

Wonderful stay!

We loved the layout of the house and everything was so well maintained and clean! The pool was a big hit with everyone and it was really nice to have lots of beach chairs/toys, etc available to us in the storage area. Our family rented both sides and the fact that the units connect through an inside doorway was perfect! The chairlift was also super helpful for our Papa who has a bad knee. We would highly recommend Shore Thing for a large family vacation!

Beautiful views

Our family enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Beautiful views from every level. Enjoyed the pool! Thoughtful owners provided a well stocked kitchen, beach chairs and supplies, games and puzzles. Even a portable high chair and pack n play. Response to questions was super quick. A very nice section of beach that was wide even at high tide.

Great Family Vacation

From our initial booking to check-in Jessica, the property owner, was fantastic to work with. She responds quickly, answers all questions and provides all types of property literature to make your stay easy and enjoyable. The house was large enough that our family of 9 (ages 3 months to 58) each family had a bedroom on separate floors. The view is beautiful and the house was very clean and ready for us to enjoy. The large deck and pool were great to have especially for rocking little ones with the ocean breeze blowing. We cooked in quite a bit and the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, glassware and everything you need to cook and eat in. The table was large and plenty of room for all our family which is very hard to find in most rentals. I would highly recommend this property for your next vacation.

Exceeded our Expectations

This house was perfect for us! We are a family of 5 with three college-aged young adults. We let them each bring a few friends for a week at the beach. The bed and bath arrangement accommodated all of us comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and the house was furnished with new and modern furniture and decor. The extra storage space and inclusion of beach equipment were certainly appreciated. We had parking for all 6 of our cars! We needed to contact the owner about a propane tank and she responded immediately. The house is right on the beach with a convenient outdoor shower too. We would certainly stay here again!

Spring break family vacation

We chose this home because of the heated pool. The pool was not heated. It we broken and not fixed until the day before we left. The day we left it was finally getting warm. Our kids spent the whole week inside the house and the thermostat inside was constantly changing to heat at random times of the day. After several month I am still disappointed about the pool.

We are sorry to hear your stay wasn’t exceptional. Once we were notified of the pool issue we immediately contacted the pool maintenance company to come out. Unfortunately the weather that week was in the low 40s at night and the heavy pollen decreased the efficiency of the heater. We do hope you were able to enjoy the beach views and walk on the beach also.

Everything we dreamed of, and more!

Our family vacation landed in Emerald Isle for Thanksgiving this year. Our sons flew in from 4 different military bases. We searched through many rentals to find the perfect one, and Shore Thing did not disappoint! First and foremost, our king bed on the third floor was perfection! No back ache on this vacation! We loved that each family had their own room and privacy. The common areas were clean and comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed. Steps to the ocean and even a lift chair for my mother. What else could we have asked for? Absolutely nothing! Shore Thing rates an A+++ and 5 big stars!!

Shore Thing

We had a great stay! The house is amazing and very clean. The closet is stocked with sand toys and chairs and anything else you could want at the beach. My son loved the kite! We were on the beach all day, everyday. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful.
