Iron Horse Top floor Studio comfortably sleeps 2 - 4. Feels much more spacious than the typical nice Iron Horse Studio as our condo is a rare top floor unit with new knotty pine tongue and groove vaulted ceiling in the living room section. Enjoy a view of the slopes as well as easy access to and from the slopes. (on ski access level)

If you have children, or are just young at heart, you are going to love our Indian themed condo; hand tooled leather pillows, genuine Native American dream catcher, authentic Indian Papoose, Tale of the painted Pony lamp, antler chandelier, canoe chandelier, signed Indian artwork, copper farmhouse sink, granite kitchen counter, GE Slate Gray appliances, etc.

After a long day on the slopes enjoy a soak in the hot tubs or take the kids for a swim in our indoor/outdoor pool; or, work out in the gym.

Free coffee and hot apple cider is available in Iron Horse's comfortable lounge.

Easy to cook full course meals in our fully stocked kitchen or give Mom a break, choose any one of countless area restaurants and take the family out from pizza to gourmet. And, while you can't ski to dinner since the slopes close at 4pm, the shuttle stops right at the front door every 15 minutes or you can even walk to the Village!.

About The Owner

We were an Eastern Ski Family who fell in love with Winter Park after vacationing here several times and purchased what we felt was the best location Winter Park had to offer for both amenities and ski accessability. Ultimately, we decided to take a leap of faith and permanently relocate here.

We actually stayed in our Iron Horse condo while our permanent residence was being built. So, we had plenty of time to tweek, and perfect all the comforts of home.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2007

Why The Owner chose Winter Park

There is no better place to stay in Winter Park. Unfortunately, all downtown guests who drive or ride the ski shuttle are deposited at the far end of the Village base and have to truck from one end to the other dragging their equipment and possibly even their children just to reach the lifts. No such inconvenience here.

What makes this condo unique

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank You Denise. We had such a great time. The snow was great! Your condo was so charming and conveniently located. My wife and kids could ski "home" while I got a few runs in on some really big moguls. The kids will remember the time they stayed in "Indian land" just as much as the skiing. Thanks again, Kristian

Beautiful, fully equipped condo...

  • 5 of 5

The listing was accurate and the condo was clean, warm, quiet, and a great ski-in/ski-out location. In all our numerous stays at Iron Horse, we have never had a condo that was so beautifully decorated. It is so inviting and makes you feel pampered. Could not have asked for better service from the owner. This is definitely a property that others would enjoy as well. Ease of access to the Winter Park Resort and bus service to WP makes it great for non-skiers as well.

Owner's Response: Thank you Ray! I am so glad that my guests have all been so appreciative of my recent upgrades and painstakingly hand picked decorating choices that give my condo that cozy, warm, upscale cabin in the woods feel while still being within a ski in/ski out high rise and all the amenities that come along with that.

Our stay in Denise's Iron Horse Condo

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful five-day ski vacation in Winter Park last week. The spring skiing was great and Denise's condo was as well. I especially like her top floor unit in the C building because of the vaulted ceiling. It makes the condo seem much more spacious. And being on the 5th floor, you don't even have to use the elevator to hit the slopes. The unit is comfortable and everything is in good working condition. If I get the chance, I will stay here again.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our ski vacation at Denise's awesome condo! The kids were so excited when we arrived at the condo and are still talking about the cool Indian motif. My wife and I loved the proximity to the ski slopes (it was on the ski access level) and really appreciated how comfortable and clean the condo was as well as impressed by how completely equipped the kitchen was. Sitting in the outdoor hot tub while the snow was coming down after a long day of skiing was really romantic and the kids enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool. The owner was easy to reach and so helpful with all our numerous questions about the ski resort, where to go, eat, etc. We finally found a place worthy of returning to on our annual ski vacations.

Owner's Response: Kevin, Thank you for your lovely review. I am so glad that your family had a fantastic stay! It was my pleasure to both host you and answer all your inquiries for suggestions. Living locally makes it easy for me to make recommendations for restaurants, activities, best ski trails, etc. so that you can get the best out of your vacation. I look forward to your return. Denise

Owner's Response: VRBO BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE GUARANTEE One of the nice protections provided when booking through VRBO/Homeaway online checkout (which David did) is that you become a "protected traveler" Customer service is available 24/7 to address concerns and even will relocate you if warranted. If there was any shred of truth to this WORST EVER GUEST - housekeeping was upset and took pictures. He left 3 full trash cans, shrimp tails left in sink, 1/4" of grease in frying pan on stove, etc. He called me daily (yes he stayed his full booked dates) to talk him through over and over again how to operate the Comcast TV remote, even as early as 7 am! He should have and would have contacted VRBO customer service. (he did not) Guests are strictly forbidden from bringing dogs to any units at Iron Horse, not just mine. My housekeeper puts a breakaway seal on the back hinge of the sofa bed so she knows when it was used. The seal was still intact so it could not even have been opened. This renter was a returning guest as can be verified by VRBO. He knew the size and sleeping arrangements. But, he is getting up in age, forgetfulness and crankiness.

Needs attention

  • 3 of 5

Great location, but needs some investment. The dimmer switch in the kitchen doesn't work, nor does the humidifier, nor the stopper for the bath. The fridge was unfortunately turned to super cold so our groceries froze and the door code stopped working partway through our stay (the owner was really great about getting that fixed right but it was a solid 45 minutes of inconvenience). There are units in the Iron Horse that are more functional without the super-kitsch.

It's a good unit, in a good location

  • 5 of 5

These are kind of small rental units, it would be a tight squeeze with my wife and kids, but it was just me and a friend of mine. So it worked out quite well. A maximum of three people, but otherwise a very nice unit in a very good location.
