We’d like to offer a bit of clarification on a few of the concerns you mentioned. The listing photos and description do highlight the home’s open-air design, which is quite typical for houses in our Costa Rican jungle setting. We understand this rustic, nature-immersed style isn’t for everyone, but many guests appreciate it for the unique experience it provides. Regarding the blinds, while they were not moldy, we acknowledge that there were some older stains that regular cleaning couldn’t remove. These required professional upholstery care, and we did remove the blinds promptly upon your arrival as requested. The ceiling fan issue was actually identified during our pre-arrival inspection, and we communicated the plan to repair it the following morning—which you kindly agreed to. As for the ants and the burst pipe, we completely understand how disruptive that must have been. Being in a tropical environment, occasional ant activity is unfortunately a reality, though we do our best to control it. The broken drain pipe was unexpected, and we had already arranged repairs for the following morning. Lastly, since we didn’t receive a refund request until three days after check-out, we were unable to rebook the property in time, which limited our ability to offer compensation. Please know that we’re committed to providing a comfortable and memorable experience for every guest, and we regret that we weren’t able to fully meet that standard in your case.
