The Space:

Guest Access:
The condo comes with a unique code which will get you entry into your unit. The indoor, heated salt water pool and hot tub can be accessed via a Pool Code on the North side of the Office building.

This is a 2nd floor unit, there are 14 steps required to access the unit.

Other Things to Note:
This is a condo in a shared complex, and it's worth noting that from time to time, you might hear everyday sounds coming from neighboring units and common areas within the facility. The condo comes with a limited supply of complimentary coffee, sugar, and creamer.

D Sands Rentals manages all 63 privately owned beachfront condos. We have a rental office on the property that is open no less than 8 hours a day. We give you your space, but we’re available on-site if you need anything.

Everything was nice. Only things that were cons is the condo had a stuffy smell and a couple of large pans would have made cooking for 4 adults a lot easier. The biggest con for me is I have bad hips and back issues and the firm mattress caused those areas to hurt more then normal so I was unable to sleep comfortably. That was trying the two beds and the hideaway and none of them worked.

The property was nice. Looks dated outside but inside our room it was very nice, clean, and comfy. Had all the essentials for our 2 day stay. Loved the location to the beach. Would recommend and go back there.

Love having the beach right there and being able to fit the whole family!

Centrally located in Lincoln City, we didn't have to drive far to get groceries and mostly just spent our time at the beach and in our room!

Misled

Rented the place because it had a pool and we had kids with us pool was out of service and we were not notified. We were not able to check in on time, after having a very long drive. The description says there is laundry facilities and there is not.

Neila, thank you for taking the time to leave a candid review of your stay in unit #215, Schooner or Later. We do understand the frustration about the pool being down without notice, but the grounds and pool are owned and completely under the jurisdiction of the HOA. D Sands Rentals is only able to offer access to the pool, and isn't liable for unexpected closures. In this instance, the HOA planned for Spectrum to dig and lay down new fiber optic lines. Unfortunately, those professionals hit some plumbing, and the pool did have to close without advance notice for the safety of everybody. However, I do want to apologize for the coin laundry issue. We intended for that to go into a "local amenities" section on VRBO, but it somehow ended up in the wrong area. We have since corrected that issue, and we sincerely apologize if you felt misled by that honest mistake. Thank you for bringing that to our attention so that we could fix it. As for the late check in, I am also sorry that our housekeeping staff needed to take a couple extra minutes to get that room ready for you. The departing guest was extraordinarily rough on the room, and that was a very demanding day for our housekeeping and staff. But we are sincerely sorry that this happened during your stay and that we weren't able to rectify it at the time. We hope that, despite these issues, you were still able to enjoy the condo with its amazing ocean views and that you took advantage of the easy beach access our location is known for. We also hope that you would still consider staying with us in the future during a calmer time. Either way, thank you again for taking the time to send your feedback, and we wish you the best on your future travels.

Overall a great place!

Look, I'm not gonna lie....this property needs work but you can tell that they're trying & putting in a lot of effort! The parking lot is extremely small & difficult to maneuver with even a smaller SUV. Our room was clean & somewhat updated. Our check-in was late by roughly an hr due to staffing issues/not having our room ready by 4pm so be prepared for that to possibly happen. (It wasn't a huge issue for us bcuz both me/hubs work cust. service/retail & we know how staffing issues go nowadays. But I know some ppl would b irritated if this happened to them.) Overall we really loved it here! Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes/cookware/etc. We didn't get a chance to check out the pool, but having the ocean as your literal backyard was so relaxing & soul energizing AND we didn't have to pay an exorbant amount of $ which is always nice! :) Thank D Sands for a great vaca spot, we'll def b coming back ❤️

Good location and overall good experience

The property was fine for the weekend, there were a few things that could have made it better though. First off, there was a king bed in the back room, but the front room actually had a full sized bed, not a queen, which was disappointing, the pull out couch was a queen I believe, but it was not as advertised. Additionally the towels were covered in a lot of long black hair, we are all blonde so that was kind of unpleasant. Also when the light switch had something that appeared to be blood smeared on it but I made sure to wipe everything down with hospital grade wipes just to be safe. The door did not close tightly so we had to wedge some paper in it when we closed it at night to keep it from banging every time the people (kids) next to us came and went all night long so our toddlers did not wake up. Overall though I would say it was decent for the price and we wouldn’t be opposed to goin back in the future, but maybe to a different unit, but we will probably try another place next time.

First, it sounds like, while the unit was fairly clean overall, there were some things that could have been done better. We'll be passing this feedback along to the housekeeper responsible for the unit prior to your arrival. Please also keep in mind that if issues ever arise during your stay, we will gladly attend to them. I was panicked to hear that we had misrepresented the bed size, though that turned out to not be the case. We did have our housekeeping manager check, and they have confirmed that it is a queen bed in the living area. I am happy that you found the condo to be a good value overall. We would love to welcome you back in the future.

Mostly enjoyable stay

Our only two issues that may seem silly to some. We have enjoyed rooms in the past where the tv is at the end of the bed, as on our annual winter anniversary trip, we like to take the time to relax, lie in bed and catch up on movies while listening to the ocean. In this room the tv is in front of the couch instead of the bed. The other issue is, as we had not been back to D'Sands Hotel in quite a few years, did not realize that 215 was NOT as we logically thought to the right of room 213. It was dark and pouring rain when we drove in from Washington, and I just think it would have been helpful to know which building it was located in. Minor things. Otherwise, wonderfully decorated, cozy. Etc.

We have stayed here quite a few times and it's perfect for us! The suites with kitchen work well for our family. There is plenty of room for a mini vacation and we love the beach view as well as the easy beach access. Parking can be a bit tight. Overall it's great!

D Sands Condo

We enjoyed our stay at the D Sands Condos. Our room was a suite and it was great. I have no complaints. The staff was acomodating and friendly. The Suite had a great view, plenty of room and it had king bedroom and a queen bed in the living room. We could have not asked for more. I appreciated how clean the room was. I would stay again. Only reason for giving it 4 stars is because the exterior of the property could be better. Don't let it fool you. Its a great place to stay.

Beautiful view, Great beach access, best weather and sunset, Clean, was able to stay w/short notice. Ok … maybe 1 complaint..I wish the pool was accessible later for people who are staying one day and can't check in til 4pm & pool closes at 7pm and opens at 10am but have to be out at 11am. I use to stay here w/my family when I was young 35-40 yrs ago. It looks as good or better than before. Was a bit overkill for two people (sleeps up to 6) but still not bad price. Would love to come back.
