THE BEAMS APARTMENT
This elegant air-conditioned rooftop property is a 24 m2 (approximately 250 ft2) cozy hideout, perfect for a romantic vacation. It is the only apartment on the 6th and last floor of a traditional Parisian building (sorry, no lift!). It is situated in the heart of the Haut Marais, right behind the old covered “Carreau du Temple” market. It is a very short walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) from the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou Center, and approximately 15 minutes from Place des Vosges. For the exact location, please see the map.
There is a direct bus (96) taking you to Notre Dame, Saint Germain des Près and the Left Bank, the bus stop being 1 minute away on the same block, and direct metro taking you to Bastille, the Opera, Madeleine, Concorde and Invalides (Line 8-Filles du Calvaire station 1 minute away). A block further, you can get anywhere in the city from République station, a major intersection of metro lines and buses. The Rue de Bretagne two blocks away is a market street, hosting the city's oldest covered market, the 'Marché des Enfants Rouges', open every day except Sunday afternoon and Monday. Many hip bars and restaurants are within short walking distance, and the trendy rue Charlot with its young designers’ boutiques and vintage fashion shops is literally 1 street away. The farthest you will need to walk to get anywhere in the Marais will be 15 minutes.
The apartment has been entirely renovated in 2007 and is fully furnished and equipped, individually heated by electric heaters in each room. It is suitable for hosting 2 GUESTS MAXIMUM (and eventually a child/adolescent).***Thank you in advance for respecting the apartment's capacity when making your inquiry.***
You enter the apartment through a patio area which has been converted into a winter garden, where a breakfast table and chairs allow you to take advantage of the sunshine coming down from the glass roof all year long. This is also the only smoking area, the apartment itself being non-smoking.
The living room has a double-glazed, soundproof skylight, facing east. The apparent beams and inclined rooftops are a trademark of Parisian charm, and you will be able to fully enjoy them lying on the comfortable couch, which is also a single bed. You will find high-speed Internet access, 200-channel TV, DVD player, phone for local calls and stereo. Plenty of reading material as well as guidebooks about the city are at your disposal.
The kitchen, very bright due to another skylight, opens into the living room and is fully equipped with oven, microwave, stove and refrigerator/freezer. You also have at your disposal a toaster, espresso and filter coffee machines and kettle, as well as full place settings. In the same space, a table and two chairs create a cozy dining area.
The bedroom has a double bed with brand new mattress, feather pillows and a duvet, all made of organic materials. From the skylight, you have a great view of Parisian rooftops. There is a large closet, fully equipped with shelves and hangers for your belongings and plenty of space for your luggage. Bed linen and towels are of course provided.
The bathroom, highlighted by another antique wooden beam, is nautically inspired, with natural light coming in from a small window, bathtub, teak floor and wooden details. You will find a washer/dryer, hair dryer and first necessity items from L'Occitane at your disposal.
You will be greeted personally to exchange keys and receive explanations how everything works. I live in the same building and will always be at your disposal to give you advice and information about the city, or help you out should you need anything. You will also find in the apartment a comprehensive guidebook of the property and the area, as well as a guestbook and my personal restaurant recommendations.

I am an expat Interior Designer who has been living in Paris for the past 24 years.
Christiana purchased this apartment in 2006
Le Marais is my home since I came to Paris and and I would never change it for any other area of the city. It is the most vibrant, hip, interesting, lively and convenient neighborhood. My own home is in the same building, and I would like my guests to share my unique living experience in this wonderful area, le Marais.
Although all the action starts 2 minutes away from your front door, the apartment itself is a haven of tranquility and a perfect hideout for a romantic vacation.
Ti aspettiamo a Venezia! Baci. Thanks for all.
I regularly come to Paris for business, and twice a year for the last 12 years I have stayed at this flat.
Beautifully situated in the Marais, it is within walking distance to one of my favourite restaurants in Paris.
The flat itself is comfortable, simple to look after, and is extremely safe, and quiet. With a sense of privacy I greatly appreciate.
The free phone calls mean I can contact my family often. This is especially comforting as I usually stay here for extended periods of time.
This flat suits my needs very well, and I recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris.
Still dreaming of that magical petit penthouse in the coolest area of Paris! I really miss having breakfast in robes in the patio area! The building was so peaceful and clean! The beds and comforters were so comfy! The view was breathtaking! Christiana was thee coolest hostess on the planet! She was super awesome and helpful and catered to all my requests super FAST! Everything was so accessible! LOVED everything about this place and I wish I could turn the key to that chic red door again!
I never bother to write reviews but this time seems worth it! First, I loved Christiana: lively, lovely, professional, honest, reliable, prompt. Who could ask for anything more? Next, the flat was so perfect. Its a loft, so there are stairs to climb, but by the end of my week here, I was skipping two steps at a time. All appliances that I used worked fine! Kitchen is small but functional and clean (no funky stuff or mold, etc. no bugs.) Bathroom also small but clean! The rest of the flat was just as tidy. Bed was large and comfy, and I slept well every night. Location is the best: you can randomly pick a street or direction to go and there is something interesting, beautiful, delicious, historic, quirky. I spent most of my time in the direction of the Seine, and walking home late at night alone was no problem! Great shopping, quaint bistros with locals, a market for buying essentials (including nacho cheese Doritos for you snackers), parks and walks for strolling endless hours, bus, Metro... You will never feel bored. I loved this place and I can't say enough good stuff. I was alone but this would have been such a romantic place for two! Thank you again, and I hope to be back soon :)
I've stayed and this and Christiana's other flats in the area for the past eight years and they are all charming and convenient to everything I love about Paris. The flats are the right size for one or two persons, comfortable, functional, quiet and charming. The neighborhood has everything you want or need from delightful restaurants and cafés to chic fashion boutiques, a fresh-food market, bakeries, fromagerie — all just 1-2 minutes from your door. The center of the Marais is less than a 10 minute-walk and there are multiple subway lines to take you to every corner of the city within a 2-3 minute walk. Christiana is the perfect host — friendly, reliable and full of ideas and information to make your vacation a memorable one.
I have stayed in this owner's apartments for many years and they are always fantastic value and very reliable. They are always well presented and perfectly located near Republique and close to all the sights in the third district; in a quiet corner but just ten minutes walk to Pompidou and excellent food on Rue de Bretagne etc no more than one minute away. The owner is always incredibly accomodating and very practical, she makes the whole process of booking and paying stress-free. This place was perfect for me, and staying here I really felt like I was living in Paris. But when travelling with my partner I prefer to stay in the wood/white apartment which is slightly larger or if it is free the chocolate apartment, which is simply amazing.
I stayed in the apartment while in Paris for a sports tournament. I loved it - perfect retreat from the fun and frolics. The owner was on site, friendly, relaxed, and accommodating. The apartment was cosy, stylish and clean. It was deceptively quiet - perfect for a light sleeper - so near all the fun but not noisy. Really well positioned for the metro, local places to eat and drink, a little bakery/café just opposite. A pleasant walk to the heart of Marais. I was lucky to get it at short notice and it made a great weekend even greater. Probably not suitable for the terribly tall - a few beams - or those who find stairs challenging - but perfect for any other kind of stay in the city - pleasure or business. Perfect for singles and couples. A third would be pretty comfy too.
The Marais is the hip traveler's haven. Cafés, restaurants, designer's boutiques, art galleries are all at your front door - just walk outside and explore!
