As soon as our son went off to college we headed south! We looked for 6 years, focusing on the stretch of coast between Amelia Island and Charleston. We just kept coming back to Beaufort. Being downtown is such fun - we can walk and bike to everything. We love to boat and fish and the lifestyle here is perfect for that!

We bought this little bungalow just 6 blocks from our main house to use as an overflow guest house when we have big groups of friends come to town. We had a whole house full of furniture from my mother-in-law's house in FL to deal with, so the timing was perfect. We decided to rent it when we aren't using it, and that's what got us here!

The properties are adjacent so, if you need more space, consider booking them together! It is an easy walk to the waterfront and all that area offers. Great restaurants, shops, and art galleries are all right there. We keep a binder in the house filled with local info and recommendations. We have also added VRBO #472201 - a spectacular 1830 antebellum home we just totally renovated! 1 block from the waterfront park. Our newest addition is Hermitage House #631501, in a great neighborhood 1.4 miles from this house adjacent to the rail trail!
