Perfect Private Retreat

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this house for a long weekend with my friends. We are all from LA and just wanted a quiet weekend in a private setting. The house exceeded our expectations! The interior is beautifully decorated, very cozy and homy. The rooms were immaculately clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with any cookware and utensils we needed. The house is very private; it has a fence that runs along the entire perimeter of the yard so you feel comfortable leaving all the blinds and curtains open -which is great because you can see the mountain range from the front of the house or the gorgeous pool in the backyard. The pool, by the way, is amazing. We spent 90% of our time in or around the pool; it was a great size and very deep. Also, a plethora of seating areas in all corners of the yard. So you can take advantage of the view from any angle. We had a truly amazing experience at this house and we were sad to leave. We will definitely be back and I would recommend it to anyone.

Disappointing Rental in the Desert

  • 2 of 5

We rented this property for 1 month last winter and were totally disappointed with amenities and quality. We have rented properties for the last 4 years and this was by far the least acceptable property. Furnishings, cleanliness and general accommodations were unacceptable. We love the area the house is in and with a few tweaks and attention to detail by owner, it could be a much better property. Too much breakable decor on every surface, furniture in disrepair, cleaning under beds and furniture totally gross, kitchen not really equipped for someone who actually wants to cook. We actually bought some washcloths (and left them there for the next person) and purchased a sharp chef knife and sauté pan so we could make our meals. Patio furniture old, broken or unusable, cushions stored in a dirty storage room uncovered. Having to vacuum the house with a mini shop vac with a 3' hose and 6' cord was a joke, love kneeling down to get to the floor. Managers kept reminding us that this is an "inexpensive property", so we shouldn't expect much. Needless to say, we booked this year's stay before we left last year so we won't be stuck renting a property like this.

Owner's Response: This review came as a huge surprise and was extremely disappointing to us. Not only was this rental over 7 month ago, but at the time of the rental we had taken much care and paid a great deal of attention to the items the renter was concerned about. Immediately we addressed their concerns which consisted mainly of the following A dislike to our mid century outdoor furniture- we purchased new items and had it delivered for their stay. A concern about not having enough sharp cuttlery and a skillet. We have a full knife set and at least 10-12 different pots and pans. We have a cleaning crew that cleans the house on a regular basis and has no issue with the vacuum and other cleaning tools that are provided at the house. If we had received complaints or concerns by this renter and or any other renters with regards to the vacuum we would have been more than happy to supply a new one. All in all it is our immediate concern that each and every one of our renters is very pleased, content and that we address and fix any issues to keep all of our renters happy as soon as we are made aware of anything that is causing them discomfort. As you can see in all of our other and previous reviews, our renters are extremely pleased. We take a lot of personal time to maintain our property and we are very proud of what we have to offer our clients. This review is very disappointing considering we did respond to each and every concern immediately and happily to try and keep this renter happy. As they say “you cant always make everyone happy”. We sure do our best and have been told by 99% or our renters that they are extremely pleased to stay with us. Hope that helps to clarify any issues that this review may have brought up

Comfortable, casual perfection in an ideal setting!

  • 5 of 5

I spent 2 weeks with my Mom (who's just turned 81). It was perfect -- comfortable, well appointed, cozy, quiet and private yet just minutes from downtown. There are a couple of corner grocery/liquor stores and a gas station nearby as well as the great Irish Pub Dickie O'Neal's for takeout or eat in. The neighbours were friendly, but not intrusive. We loved picking grapefruit fresh off the tree and the fully fenced yard was great for our 'doodle, Maggie. We were in the pool daily and the sauna warmed us up whenever we felt the need. The weather co-operated as well. Every single day was sunny and warm (late December-early January). Sure hope we get another chance to visit!

We rented this home for a long weekend and found it to be absolutely delightful. Nicely appointed, quiet neighborhood, and a nice private pool for al-fresco swimming. A great value. Can't wait to go back.

A wonderful home!!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about this home. When you walk through the front door for the first time and see the view of the backyard oasis through the wall of sliding glass doors all your tensions melt away. The house was truly a home away from home. The pool and spa are refreshing and rejuvenating, and the outdoor setting is peaceful. From the open floor plan of the stocked kitchen, the dining and living rooms, to the comfortable beds and linens, the owners make sure that you will be comfortable and happy. We have rented several homes in the southern california mountains and deserts, and this is our favorite! I highly recommend this gem (and already have) to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway to the Palm Springs area. You will not be disappointed. We can't wait to return!

Wish I could claim the place as my own and live there year-round

  • 5 of 5

I'm almost writing this begrudgingly... because I don't want this place to get totally booked-up and made unavailable to me! I LOVE this house. I've been there twice now, and besides echoing everything crashcabot wrote about it, I'll just add that the place just makes you feeeeeeellllll great. It's really relaxing and wonderful there. I wish I could claim it as my own place. Read crashcabot's review too - everything stated is right on the money. This is a fabulous place to stay.
