Beautiful location, nicely renovated, very clean house that comfortably accommodated 8 adults. We were welcomed with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers and cool origami folded towels! Appreciated the stocked sun screen and beach towels as well as the outside shower! The listing was not completely accurate as the tap water is contaminated by salt from the ocean and though the host assured me it was safe to use, we could not tolerate it to even brush teeth. We did cook with it without difficulty and the host did supply abundant bottled water which was wonderful! There was no mention of this issue except in other people's comments. Also, there is no dishwasher which was a listed amenity and the grill is charcoal only. Despite these issues, we had a great time, totally enjoyed being close to Reid State Park where we swam in giant waves and saw dolphins and whales from the beach! We had a great dinner at 5 Island lobster co, and the kitchen was well stocked so it was easy to cook some wonderful family meals and watch the sun set over the River. It was a great vacation and we feel the host more than compensated for the salty tap water which is a natural occurrence in wells being that close to the ocean!

The house is great for a stay for adults or families with older children. I do think with small children its important to note The stairs are open to the living room, the windows are very low, there is no bath tub, and all the running water in the house is salt water. We enjoyed exploring Georgetown's beautiful parks and beaches and did a day trip to Boothbay Harbor but ended up leaving a day early because of the house factors. Otherwise, the property is a well equipped space in a beautiful part of maine!

Hi Katie - thank you for your review. The stairs all have full handrails to protect children, thank you for brining this to our attention. The windows are standard height and all have locks on them for safety. The water in this entire area are wells almost directly next to the ocean, its wild Maine. There is no city water or deep wells but we provide unlimited delivered drinking water for all guest. Hope this helps!

Beautiful, Comfortable, Fun, Not Great for Infants

The pictures really don't do the place justice. The views are stunning, and the space is very well laid out. We were a large group (8 adults, 2 infants, 1 dog) and felt we had plenty of space. The beach was a decent but pleasant walk away on a very quiet, private road. We were there for the Fourth of July and had a ton of fun participating in the community's celebrations. Angela was communicative and helpful when a couple issues came up during our stay, as well. With young infants, however, the place really didn't meet our needs. Only the main living area has AC, so the rooms would stay quite warm even at night, and the shades installed let in a lot of light. The biggest hurdle was the water situation. All running water in the house is salt water. Drinking water is provided, but for washing bottles, making formula, bedtime baths it felt like we were camping with the level of effort we had to put in to complete those regular tasks. We would consider staying here in the future, but not until we had older kiddos.
