Why The Owner chose Northwest

Beautiful setting with views of mountains and 2 lakes! within 2 + hours of Denver airport. Only 3 miles to the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and 1 mile from the quaint Grand Lake Village.

y family and I have been vacationing in Grand Lake since 1967! My husband and I honeymooned here.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin is secluded but in close proximity to Grand Lake Village, and Rocky Mountain National Park. The live theater is nationally known, and we enjoy art galleries as well. Love sitting around the fire pit at night.

Perfect Honeymonn!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful cabin for our honeymoon and could not believe how perfect it was! It was a beautiful drive from Denver in our rental car. Everything from the views to the master bed was amazing! We grilled out steaks from the local grocery stores every night and probably spent 98% of our time sitting on the porch enjoying the mountains and lake views. We made friends with the chipmunk who lived under the stairs and a huge herd of elk (might be just huge deer with fuzzy antlers?) greeted us in the mornings as they made their way down the mountain. The hummingbirds were zipping around the pretty Wildflowers. It was just amazing! It was literally seconds from the little town of Grand Lake which was so cute! The coffee shop there ahead the best coffee. We climbed Adams Falls and rented ATVS in the national park! We will definitely be making this a yearly trip and hope to make many more memories there!!

Wonderful Anniversary Trip

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin to celebrate our anniversary. I could not have been more pleased. This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was very clean and the views of the lakes and the mountains from the large windows and deck were breathtaking. We explored the town of Grand Lake and it was very charming. We also rented a Pontoon Boat at Beacons Marina to explore Lake Granby. We had a great time, but we always looked forward to going back to the cabin. We really enjoyed making smores at the outdoor firepit. We can't wait to go back again!!

This cabin was fantastic! The views are absolutely amazing; we could have literally sat there our entire vacation. Lois was great to talk to and made the stay so easy! The cabin is stocked with practically everything you need. Although Tupperware would've been very helpful, you can practically see the market from the back patio so everything was convenient! The only reason I had to give this 4 stars is because if you enjoy spending time outside of the cabin, the highway traffic can be a tad noisy, but nothing extreme as its only 2 lanes. The parking was also a little difficult as there is no designated spot, just a little circle area on a one way, inclined gravel road and we drove a truck so it was quite entertaining getting turned around! Overall I would definitely recommend to stay here!!!

This Cabin provided the relaxing vacation that we needed.

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time using VBRO....and I can say I had reservations but I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. This cabin was just perfect...for what we needed. The view from the Deck...just awesome. We sat there alot just taking in the fresh air...sunrises....watching boaters on the lake....and just enjoying nature. The Cabin has a great location close to - Grand Lake - the Rocky Mountain National Park - Hiking Trails - we ventured down to Winter Park and even went west towards Steamboat Springs....checking out the different countrysides and towns. The fire pit was also a great addition - nothing better then sitting around a fire and forgetting the fast pace of the city. We hope to be back to enjoy this wonderfull cabin in the future. Thanks again for overing your Cabin to travelers.

Absolutely perfect for our family of four

  • 5 of 5

This log style cabin nestled in the foothills just below the entrance to RMNP and just above the quaint town of Grand Lake, was absolutely perfect for our family of four. The view was absolutely amazing despite the rainy weather. The back deck overlooks the western edge of Shadow Lake and encompasses Grand Lake beyond it. Then Mount Baldy, snow-covered and majestic, rose above the green foothills. The picture window allowed us to see this view at all times and the deck was large with seating, a table, a wood chop block and a fire pit and grill. We were given access to all this as well as the interior which was comfy, cozy and clean clean clean. Everything we needed was there except our groceries and clothing. We had an easy hike to the town on the first day (about 20 minutes if you don't stop to take pictures!) and we enjoyed the exploration of all the great local shops and restaurants. The next few days we spent canoeing and hiking up the trails to Lone Pine Lake and Adams Falls which I highly recommend. We borrowed the raincoats hanging in the closet which we didn't know we'd need! Thank you Lois, for thinking of everything. We slept so well each night because the beds were more comfortable than our own at home! We also "paid it forward" with a few items of groceries since we used a few things from the fridge and pantry. We played some of the board games, worked on a puzzle, watched a movie and made s'mores in the fire pit. These Texans can't wait to go back and I wouldn't hesitate to book this cabin again.

As mentioned by others, you can hear the cars go by on the two-way highway but it wasn't bothersome and I was amazed at how private and remote we felt. No one else was near our cabin or behind us. We saw deer in the yard and a chipmunk one morning. My teenaged children were very happy there, also. I would not recommend the cabin for someone who has difficulty maneuvering steep steps.

Fishing/Touring Expedition

  • 5 of 5

I had always heard about the beauty of Lake Granby, but now I can say first hand it was amazing. We spent the first day fishing and remainder of our trip exploring the national forest. The view from the cabin was outstanding, Bonnie was kind, helpful, and will rent from her anytime I am in the area. We went fishing with Steve the guide and caught our limit of trout for a great dinner that evening. Thanks again for such a great time Granby. We will be back.
