Enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or whale watching on one of Maui's finest beaches.

D-602 is elegantly furnished and truly a 'Home Away From Home' making it a great Maui Vacation Rental. It offers Air Conditioning, Free WiFi; Free Calls to the Mainland or Canada; Free Reserved Parking Stall Right Next To The Elevator.

The unit is supplied with Beach Chairs, Beach Umbrella, Beach Towels and a cooler to take to the Beach. Some snorkle equipment is also present.

Kihei Akahi Resort Condominium is located in the southern part of Kihei, just off the edge of Wailea Resort Area. The grounds are meticulously maintained with blooming flowers everywhere and the private lanai is perfect for dining or watching the sunsets. Some of Maui's finest swimming beaches are in this area. It is a soft sand beach, that gradually slopes out and is great for both swimming and snorkeling.
The Master Bedroom has a king bed. The second bedroom has twin beds
The resort also features two pools and a free Tennis Court and Pickle Ball Court on the premises. Around the pools are barbecues and refrigerator for a convenient snack or drink while sunning. Golf is nearby, and many shops and restaurants are within walking distance. South Maui is a quiet and peaceful area, yet the 5 star hotels of Wailea are just minutes away.
Every room has an Ocean View, even the bedrooms.
No Pets allowed at complex unless they are Service Animals.

WE PRIVATELY OWN: D-602 (VRBO 2901) and D-504 (VRBO 1111488) and C-604 (VRBO 21787).

PLEASE NOTE that listing 2901 dates back to shortly after VRBO came into existence.
At that time multiple units were allowed to be on a single listing. That all changed when Home Away came into the picture BUT THAT IS THE REASON YOU SEE REVIEWS FOR DIFFERENT UNITS DISPLAYED. At this point D-602 is the only unit
listed on 2901.

All of our units have been redone. They all have new kitchens, new baths with walk-in showers. new king size beds, air conditioning, ,free wireless internet and free calls to the mainland and Canada. They all are elegantly furnished and well coordinated. Everything you need will be there, including beach towels, beach chairs and beach umbrella. Most important - they are maintained with a very high level of CLEANLINESS.

Great location

The location was perfect for our family. Our teens liked being able to walk and get shaved ice. Joan provided beach chairs and umbrella which was an added bonus. As mentioned, keeping bedroom doors open kept rooms comfortable with AC on

Love Maui!

Beautifully furnished one-bedroom condo with everything you need to enjoy the gorgeous Maui setting. Immaculate and meticulous throughout. Couldn't wait to have coffee on the lanai and enjoy the breathtaking view of both the ocean and the mountains. Great restaurants within walking distance and a beautiful beach park right across the street. A terrific bonus to have two large and clean grills located in the pool area which we used to make some great dinners. Would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a dream vacation in Maui.

Nice place

The location of this unit is lovely. Beautiful ocean and sunset views, easy access to Kamaole II beach and many great restaurants in walking distance. The unit is well stocked with cooking supplies and dishes and the complex has two nice pools. There is only one A/C unit in the condo so you have to get the fans set up correctly so that the cool air flows into the bedrooms. You have to keep the bedroom doors open at night to ensure enough cool air can flow through. We had one major issue while in the unit when a very loud alarm began going off and we couldn't figure out the source. It took us over 30 minutes to figure out that it was a water alarm. We contacted both the owner and local contact and both came to the unit to see what was wrong. Neither of them could find an issue, seems the alarm malfunctioned as there was no leak, We suggested the owner update the welcome binder to include some information about these alarms so future guests know what to look for and do as the alarm sounded much like a CO2 alarm which would indicate serious danger.

Aloha, D-602 has the best sweeping ocean views in South Maui. Before rental a disclosure was made to your father that booked the unit that there was a split system A/C with the handller in the center of the unit and that the bedroom doors need to remain open if the A/C is being run. He said that would work fine for a couple and One small child. The water alarm under the sink went off for a reason. There was a leak from the garbage disposal. Since the water detector remained on top of the refrigerator for the remainder of your stay you were not aware of the leak. The water alarm was installed by the association in an effort to prevent water leaks that would flood multiple units. It was unfortunate that you experienced the alarm going off about 8:30 in the evening and never heard of a water detector that would give a warning,

ahhh....Maui!!!!

It takes me hours to go through condos and find the one that is "just right" for us. This trip was to visit my son who was currently a resident of Maui. I gave him five addresses to go "check out" and this is the one he chose. He didn't steer me wrong. The location is perfect in Kihei. Walking to the beach and restaurants is so easy. The grounds of the complex have beautiful gardens. The condo itself is set back from the road and central to the pools which made it peaceful. The condo was in fabulous condition with many necessities....beach chairs/mats/towels, ice chest and a blender! The kitchen is equipped with necessary supplies to cook meals. The downfall is you have to purchase groceries to do so and if you've never been to the island you may be in for a sticker shock. I suggest you keep meals simple! Besides there's some wonderful places nearby to eat like Coconuts Fish Cafe and the Cinnamon Roll Place (two places we visited more than once). The one thing that helped make my stay relaxing was the king size bed! Clean and comfortable. The washer/dryer in the condo was convenient. In retrospect we didn't need to take as much clothes as we did because of it's easy availability. Joan was very helpful in answering questions, booking the condo, condo instructions and with a prompt return of the deposit. I would certainly use this condo again!

Aloha and Thank You for thaking the time to review Kihei Akahi C-518. the beautifully landscaped grounds and location are what attracted us to Kihei Akahi many years ago. In addition to Coconut's Fish Cafe , Paia Fish Market has recently opened on Kihei Rd. They are both excellent choices for Great Food at Reasonable Prices. When your Travel Plans take you back to Maui, we would love to have you as our guest.

Review of D602

We enjoyed our stay at D602 as we knew the complex and the views were great. However, this property needs updating and decluttering. I would not recommend this property for families with young children. My grandson is 7 but I still removed a few of the breakables during our stay and then placed them back in place before we left. The bathrooms could use a fresh coat of paint, there are lots of cracks in the ceilings throughout the property. Removal of the popcorn ceiling would help update and make it seem "cleaner". While the beds were comfortable, the view was fantastic, and the property itself is beautiful, this condo would be so much better if it was decluttered. Even removal of the large vase with fake flowers on the ground, hardwood instead of the indoor/outdoor green carpet throughout would be a start. I could tell that it was cluttered from the pictures, but it was the last 2 bedroom available in the complex. We know people that own in this complex and so we wanted their son and my grandson to be able to swim & play together. I wouldn't stay here again due to the clutter - it's just not relaxing to me, and I believe many others would feel the same way. I don't want to put this on yelp because I in no way want to harm the owner but decluttering doesn't cost anything and would make this condo more desirable to many especially families with children.

I am certainly not sure if this guest was reviewing the condo and its location verses the decorating. First the pictures shown were taken shortly after a condo was sold and many items temporarily put on shelves were either moved to other condos or discarded. I personally like items placed in certain locations that bring out the colors of the room and these colors are carried throughout the condo, There are items like giraffe statue imported from Italy, hand made clay vase showing every pedal of roses. In my eyes they are beautiful and not clutter. The 4 in wide vase she mentions is up against a wall in the dining room, is rose in color and carries all the colors to that side of the room. Not sure what cracks in the ceiling she is talking about. The only area where a small crack opens is the ceiling over the bedroom door. If the A/C is run at a low temperature it develops and when A/C is off it closes up. The ceiling is popcorn and has been painted white . It is not dirty. The carpet is not indoor/outdoor. It is instead a commercial grade carpet that wears very well. The bathrooms do not need to be painted. When guests open the bath windows and leave them open to the trades a lot of dust blows in. Those walls need to be washed at least twice a year when that occurs. All I can figure out about this guest is that she likes more of a sterile environment with every surface cleared and I like accent pieces. This condo has the best view in the entire complex and is very clean. I own 7 condos on island and my plans in the near future for this condo is to replace the counter tops with granite, put vinyl flooring throughout, remove popcorn ceiling and change A/C split system to have a handler in both bedrooms as well as the living room. I wish this guest well but I do not agree with so many of the comments.

Amazing view and location.

This property had terrific view and location , however very cluttered and full with knickknacks and stuff. Very little closet space. As closets full or locked by owner. Too much stuff. But view was fantastic.

Beautiful views and a lovely stay!

We highly recommend this condo! The complex is right across the street from Kamaole II Beach, but there is a bit of a walk, maybe 1.5 to 2 blocks since this condo is in the very back of the complex. Very well worth it for great views from the balcony of the ocean, Lanai, another island which is uninhabited, and the West Maui Mountains ( a volcano). There is another good view which is of the main volcano of the island, Haleakala, which you can see beyond the front door of the condo. Due to the small bedrooms and needing to leave the doors open for the A/C, I'd say it is just the right size for 1 couple, either with or without 2 children. There was just the 2 of us and I had looked for a 1 bedroom but there was nothing cheaper with views like this, especially nice sunsets. Great to have beach chairs and umbrella, snorkeling equipment and a boogie board included. Kitchenware was adequate for our needs, the pantry had a little more than we expected and we left a few staples behind. Having a dishwasher, washer and dryer were wonderful too. The host was very helpful in answering questions. You will enjoy it!

Family trip to Maui

The condo was clean. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels for the bathroom and beach. There were beach chairs, mats, and a set of snorkeling gear which was nice. The location was great, close to the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Check in people were nice

Convenient Kihei

We enjoyed our stay in this condo. It was SUPER clean. There were plenty of towels, linens etc, but there were also beach chairs, an umbrella etc. The location to the beach and the town was ideal for going out to catch a sunset or eat at a restaurant. Everything was close by. We did not use the pool, but it looked lovely. The only negative about this condo was the a/c couldn't keep up with the 80 degree outdoor temps. We used the fan the condo had, but we could've used a second one for the other bedroom. We definitely recommend this condo.

Great location, very clean, needs new A/C

Positives: location is great, very close to some good restaurants and the beach is across the street. unit was very clean, well equipped with everything you would need including beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and beach umbrellas. The view was nice, you get a decent ocean view and you can see Molokini off in the distance. Cons: the A/C unit is not sufficient to adequately cool the unit and it got pretty hot in the bedrooms. My daughters could barely tolerate the heat at night even though there was a fan in the room going at full blast.

Love this place!

Perfectly located close to beach and shops. Unit has prime parking space and is equipped with everything you will need for vacation including a fully appointed kitchen, lawn chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear. We ate our meals on the deck where we enjoyed an amazing view of the ocean and Maui sunsets. Staff cleans BBQ every morning making it very easy to grill your favorite dinner while your family enjoys the pool.

Great location , great condo !

We really enjoyed our stay in C518 . The unit is very comfortable with a great view . It has essentially everything you can think of needing while away from home. The only item I was not happy with was the blowdryer . The owner has provided various beach items such as chairs , snorkel equipment, cooler and boogie boards. The location is very close to the beach and many restaurants. All , in all we had a great time and would definitely stay in C518 again!

Great location and Views

Just returned from a 2 week trip to Maui. We love staying at the Kihei Akahi and unit C-518 was excellant. It had all the amenities we needed as well as great views in the morning as well as at sunset. Will definitely stay there again when we go back. Thanks Joan. Mahalo.

Best place on Kihei!

This condo is absolutely wonderful! Everything you need to prepare meals (minus food of course) at home and to relax on the beach is provided. The 5 minute walk across the street to the beach is a huge plus. The view from the lanai is awesome! In the neighborhood are several places to eat and a grocery store. Hope to return again next year!

Clean, easy access, good location

Good location for exploring Kihei and the south side of the island. Good instructions for arrival - everything was spelled out and easy to understand. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and (our favorite) the natural foods store. We worked here for two days before beginning our vacation and the internet was fast and reliable as well. Good Location Good Value

Enjoyed our 10 day stay at this location. Close to restaurants and some bars. A short walk to the beach. Quiet place, many rules but easy compliance, and was never bothered by the owner or condo management. Very recommended.

Akai unit C 518

An outstanding furnished one bedroom unit. The lanai allows ocean and mountain viewing. Excellent furnishings, great kitchen with all appliances, very comfortable bed. Beach chairs, cooler furnished. Only one block to the beach, outdoor pool and tennis courts on site. Two great restaurants just a short walk away. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. A short 20-25'drive from the airport.

Very nice condo

We arrived on July 11, around 11PM. So it's not very easy for us to find the parking lot. But that's fine, not a big deal. The condo is facing to ocean view, fresh air, and so on. It is very close to beach. And very close to one shopping center. And very close to other beaches if you drive a car. We stayed for 12 nights. Almost cooked every night. We enjoyed the time so much. We love maui!

I am so happy that your stay was enjoyable and memorable. Sounds like the fully equipped kitchen met your needs, especially with the rice cooker and blender. The reserved parking spot for your unit is numbered with 8 inch white lettering, but I totally understand that arriving that time of night, after a long flight with two children, could present more of a challenge than arriving during the day.

awesome condo

We just returned from a relaxing vacation in Maui and we stayed at Kihei Akahi, condo C-604. This was our first visit to Maui and first time renting a condo. From the beginning at the time of requesting info, through booking and our stay it was a good experience. Joan returned my emails quickly and answered any questions on the phone. The condo itself was right across the street from the beach and we could see whales out on the ocean from the lanai. The grounds of the complex are beautiful and well-maintained and we took advantage of the BBQ’s available. The condo was clean and had all we needed and more, beach chairs, cooler and ice pack, fully equipped kitchen, comfy king-sized bed, wi-fi, washer and dryer. There were also lots of restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Condo/Beautiful Property

My wife and I recently returned from a five week vacation in Maui. Sights were awesome, beaches were beautiful and restaurants were fantastic. A good vacation always starts with a great place to stay and this condo was that great place to stay. Found it to be nicely decorated with modern decor, exceptionally clean, had a very comfortable bed to sleep in, a very well stocked kitchen with all the necessary utensils for meal preparation, and all the necessary equipment to spend a beautiful day on the beach which is only steps from the condo. We spent a great deal of time on a roomy lanai enjoying a cocktail, people watching and viewing the ocean. We couldn't get over the beauty of the actual property the condo is located. The grounds are well maintained and manicured, elevators/walkways within the buildings are always very clean, stairways always smell fresh/clean and well lighted, the two pools/barbecues are always clean/orderly/ready for use. The management/employees are always happy, friendly, accommodating and helpful. The beauty of this condo located on this gorgeous property is a rewarding, relaxing experience while vacationing in Maui. We will definitely be contacting this owner when planning our next vacation to Maui. A wonderful vacation experience coupled with excellent accommodations is what a good vacation is all about and this is one you will never forget!

- Great soft white sand swimming beaches
- Lots of sunshine - Kihei is the driest spot on the Hawaiian islands with an average rainfall of 10 inches.
- Quiet and peaceful area, yet the 5 star hotels of Wailea are just minutes away.
- Great family orientation
- Close to shops, restaurants and all attractions

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We love sitting on the lanai and wathching the sunsets.
We also enjoy taking long walks on the beach and visiting some of the local restaurants for lunch and dinner.
Kihei is a great locatation for golf and snorkeling activities.
