About this property
Lush setting, minutes to downtown Colorado Springs
Located at the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain, you are surrounded by pine trees, gorgeous blue skies and a view overlooking Colorado Springs that can't be beat. The interior decor is tailored to bring the feel of the "mountain life" alive... but with luxury in mind. Over stuffed couches, fluffy pillows and rustic decor abound. Natural wood furniture add to the vibe and a thick, fluffy pillow-top in the bedroom brings rustic and comfort together for the perfect combination.
The kitchenette is versatile with lots of cooking options: microwave, convection/toaster oven, Ninja pressure cooker, crock pot, toaster and waffle maker are all available for your cooking pleasure. Dining options include large, rustic dining table for 6, as well as a BBQ and outdoor seating on your own private deck.
In the gorgeous Broadmoor Hills area of Cheyenne Mountain, you are likely to see deer, turkey, birds, squirrel and an occasional bobcat. Stone pathways lead to the viewing area (overlooking the city), the picnic table and hammock (for lunch in the great outdoors) or the natural canopy park bench (deep breath as the sun goes down). Step directly outside your door to enjoy a large, private deck, complete with outdoor seating and twinkle lights; the perfect place to relax with a morning cup of coffee as the deer stroll by. When the surrounding scrub-oak are in full growth, they proved a natural, private courtyard as well as secret garden passageways along the stone paths.

Some Helpful Things to Know Before You Book
-To help ensure your stay at Black Bear Chateau is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, here are a few details to be aware of before you arrive:
-Access: Guests should be able to safely go up and down two flights of stairs to reach the private entrance to the Chateau. Take your time — you’re on mountain time now.
-Altitude: Colorado Springs sits at an elevation of 6,035 feet above sea level. If you’re visiting from lower elevations, give yourself a little time to adjust and take things slowly on arrival.

-Your Space: Black Bear Chateau occupies the private, locked-off lower level of a spacious 5,500 sq. ft. home. The host family resides on the upper two levels, but your area is completely private, with your own entrance, sound barriers, and secured access. What a fantastic stay. Great hosts. Great locations. It was nice to sit outside under the canopy after a long day of adventures. Very relaxing. Seen 2 small herds of deer, 9 wild turkeys and a bear. Wonderful experience we hated to leave.
We had the absolute best stay! The host is so easy to talk to and went out of her way to make sure we had the best time. The property is beautiful, was very clean, and in a beautiful area. We definitely plan on staying here again! 10/10 would recommend.
What a wonderful experience! The hosts were awesome, the location was so beautiful and the wildlife we saw every day was exciting! This is should be on your list for places to stay if coming to the Colorado Springs area - so close to everything!
The neighborhood is beautiful with views of Cheyenne Mountain and backyard nature. We saw lots of turkeys and several deer in the backyard and through the neighborhood. Everything was clean and comfortable with lots of games and movies if you want to stay inside, and beautiful outdoor spaces if you want to be outside. The hosts were very hospitable!
Beautiful property with frequent sightings of animals like deer, turkey, squirrels near the door step. Animal food was provided as part of the stay, this was the first time my kid fed the deers and she was so excited about it. We enjoyed our stay here and the owners were very accommodating.
Super nice place, beautiful location and just as beautiful of a host - so friendly, thoughtful and welcoming! All the comforts you need on a trip, as well as some special features that just made this chateau unique. We even encountered some baby turkey and got to feed some friendly deer! Highly recommend!
Highly recommended property with a top tier host in the Colorado Springs area. Property was very clean and extremely roomful. The property had some excellent views of the Springs area and also hosted local deer each afternoon. An amazing stay for sure.
Nice, quiet space with good communication from the host.

Very friendly and accommodating hosts, and you can’t beat coming home to a beautiful house in a beautiful neighborhood! They have one of the best lots in CO Springs.
Our stay here was perfect. Black Bear Chateau had everything we needed. This is the basement of the host's lovely home and is beautiful, cozy and comfortable. Mary Louise was a wonderful host. We were welcomed with a tray of snacks, bags of treats to give the local critters, notebooks with with information about the place, local attractions and places to eat. We greatly appreciated the extra things that made our stay so pleasant. I highly recommend this place and hope that we can return one day.
We loved our stay. There was more than enough room for my family of four, and the kids loved to be able to walk around the property and be one with nature. I don't think we have ever been so close to wild deer as we were during the time we spent there. If we ever come back to Colorado Springs, we would definitely stay here again.
Great place and beautiful view especially just looking out the windows and seeing deer and rabbits. The creek was dry(frozen) but great little walk through paths. It’s great that it’s located around many stores and plenty to do in the area.
We had a wonderful stay, the Black Bear Chatteau. Colorado Springs was beyond what I thought it was going to be. Our host Mary Louise was such a lovely and kind woman. We were very pleased and I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this beautiful property.
Great experience and great hosts. We saw lots of deer, wild turkeys, bunnies and birds. Nice, cozy neighborhood with a great view of the city and mountains. The hosts were gracious and generous. We loved our stay in their comfortable chateau!
very friendly, safe neighborhood. Got to see lots of wildlife, the deer were right there in the back yard in the mornings. enough kitchenette to prepare our own food, but close enough to go out too. Host left a nice note and some snacks for us and the wildlife, very good experience
My family returned to stay at this property for our second year in a row. When we pulled in it felt like just yesterday that we had left and returned home from last year’s family vacation. The place was as clean as ever and we could tell the owners had done little things to keep the place fresh. Our little girls got to watch and interact with the deer, turkeys, and other forest animals in the yard. Amazing neighborhood, amazing hosts, and an amazing place to make memories that last a lifetime. Thanks Mary Louise and family for another great year at the Black Bear Chateau!!
Would recommend this property to anyone. Quiet and clean, with a beautiful deer there to greet us when we arrived. Great view from backyard. Mary Louise absolutely went above and beyond to accommodate us, she is a wonderful host. The space is private and close to everything we wanted to do. I would def stay here again!
