Located in the heart of historic Old Town Port Royal, this is a two story, 1380 sq ft, residence. Just one block off Paris Avenue, the home is within walking distance of several restaurants and shopping as well as Sands Beach and a great boardwalk. The Naval Hospital is a few blocks away, and Parris Island is a short drive. Port Royal is minutes from historic downtown Beaufort. One of South Carolina's most popular beaches is nearby Hunting Island State Park -- less than a 30 minute drive. Ideally located for those who wish to explore the Low Country, Port Royal is midway between Savannah and Charleston.
Downstairs, the residence has a comfortable gathering room that opens out onto a private courtyard. A 42' flat panel television with cable and a DVD player is provided, along with a selection of dvds. The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining area seats six.
Upstairs, both bedrooms feature cathedral ceilings. Glance out the windows and you are in the trees -- live oaks with glorious Spanish moss. The bedrooms have their own televisions with cable, private baths and walk-in showers. The master has access to the upstairs porch.
This property is not suitable for small children.

We love the area and picturesque Port Royal's small town feel. At the same time it is within minutes of downtown Beaufort and the Lowcountry.
We really enjoyed our stay in Port Royal. Everything went smoothly. The house is beautiful – someone has good taste in art and furnishings. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful location from which to explore the Lowcountry.
We simply loved our month-long stay at this lovely townhouse. It was beautifully decorated and maintained and truly had everything we could ever need. The owners have thought of everything when it comes to amenities and little touches, from luxurious linens to kitchen and cookware and everything in between. It felt like home from the minute we got there. The location was perfect. We biked throughout Port Royal and enjoyed the nearby Spanish Moss Trail. It was convenient to Beaufort and the surrounding islands as well as Bluffton and Hilton Head Island. The television options, DVDs and internet were excellent. And the place was super clean. Our host was very communicative and easy to deal with before our arrival and throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this place for couples or small families and we will definitely be back.
We stayed here over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful stay. The owner was very reponsive and helpful during our stay. The house is beautiful and fully equipped with everything we needed for a home away from home. Port Royal is a little hidden gem, quiet, quaint, and relaxing. We loved walking down to Sand's Beach to watch the Dolphins and see the beautiful scenery. All in all a perfect trip!
This was our third stay at this property. It is a beautifully decorated, elegant, spacious, and well equipped home. The rooms are large, comfortable, and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped (and is larger than my current kitchen in Atlanta) and is adjacent to a large dining area. We generally had breakfast and lunch in the house, then went out for dinner to great places like Fat Patties burger joint. The owners stock a number of great movies and there are also lots of great books to cuddle up with. There is free Wi-Fi. The house is beautifully decorated with lively artwork. There is a nice gas grill on the adjacent courtyard, which is a great place for a cookout. The Cypress Wetlands Nature Trail (a raised boardwalk), is located a only few blocks from the property, and is a great place for wildlife viewing. We enjoyed biking around Port Royal and down to the Boardwalk by the ocean. We visited Beaufort, adjacent to Port Royale, where we took a carriage tour and wondered in the historic cemetery. Beaufort has lots of galleries, a marina, and great jewelry stores. You can use the state park pass that comes with the property to visit Hunting Island State Park. There, you can tour the lighthouse, ride your bike on the beach, go kayaking, or take a dip in the ocean. We have taken daytrips to Savannah (1 hour away) and to Charleston (1.5 hours away) and to the plantations by the Ashley River. The most difficult thing is to fit all the planned activities into your stay. The House is a great place for people who want to get away from the big city and the stresses of work. It is a great place for couples, but our children have also enjoyed themselves tremendously. We are looking forward to our next stay here.
This property is beautiful. The owners were kind enough to allow a two night stay as we were in the area for a Marine Corp Graduation. The home
is minutes from Parris Island. We drove to Savannah after family day since we were so close. If you are going to be attending a graduation I would definitely stay here.
The pictures show a very nice house, but when you see it in person, you appreciate it all the more. This house was very close for my daughter's marine graduation and the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom is awesome! The decor the home is wonderful to look at - look at each picture, they are very unique. I would highly recommend any parent going to a Marine Graduation to book this home, you will not be sorry. With all the traffic on Family Day, it only took us 25 minutes and frankly, I would say we truly were only 10 minutes away, that is how heavy the traffic is so we left at 6:30 and were on base at 7:00 am. Thank you so much for the use of your house.
We spent a week at this property when our oldest son graduated from recruit training at Parris Island. This great "cottage" is only a few years old and it shows! Everything is in perfect condition and the property is well-equipped and is VERY nicely furnished and decorated. It is conveniently located, with easy access to Beaufort, Parris Island and the road to Hilton Head, Savannah and Charleston.
We enjoyed the short walk to the live "Street Music" concert being held a few blocks away on Paris Ave. as well as the stroll to the boardwalk and observation tower down at the Sands Beach. The Saturday morning farmer's market down the road at the park next to the Navy Hospital was super! We bought everything from vegetalbes to bread to sweet potato pie there!
The Beaufort area itself is a little more...busy...than we remember when we lived here years ago, but Port Royal and the streets around this cottage are still very quiet and relaxing.
Honestly, this was our second choice when we were finding a lowcountry rental and we're soooooo glad that our first choice was booked up! We hope to stay here in another few months when our youngest son graduates from Marine Corps recruit training.
Thanks so much to everyone involved in renting this great place--everything was perfect and the transaction was as easy as ever!
The property is located within walking distance of popular restaurants, Sands Beach and the boardwalk. Port Royal's newly restored Cypress Wetlands walking trail is just around the corner and a must-see. Popular Hunting Island State Park is a 30 minute drive.
