The house was amazing! The views were incredible and you could really tell that the owners thought about everything you could need to get the most out of your stay. We rented this for our annual golf trip and this has been the best house yet!

We loved our stay at the castle. The space was perfect for our group. Great gathering spaces and the kitchen was a dream to cook in for the group. The outdoor spaces are lovely and we saw lots of wildlife.

Spacious custom home in gated golf community.

Large custom home. Our family of 12 adults & 4 children had plenty of room to gather. Large kitchen for meal prep. Basketball court in bottom floor offered great indoor fun. Owner was very responsive & access was easy. Pool is within driving distance in gated community and small. Ha Ha Tonka Park is very close & quite nice. Home was in need of a more thorough cleaning. A/c in theater room did not work & master jacuzzi did not work.

Thank you for your visit and review. "We usually get compliments on the cleanliness of the estate, the renter right before you commented "Home was very clean and the grounds well maintained". We informed you about the jacuzzi before your arrival and told you that they would have the part to repair during your stay and your response was "No problem. We won't need to use it, but thanks for letting us know." Therefore, we did not interrupt your visit with a service call. The AC was working in the theater, when you informed us of the temperature we immediately dispatched service, incurring an after hours service fee, and they bypassed - which made it cooler, and returned in two days with a new switch. We provided you with a map of our gated community, prior to your arrival and a copy is located in our printed welcome guide, which shows you where there are two pools, it sounds like you only went to the cottage pool which is smaller.

The castle built up quite the anticipation with the kiddos and did not disappoint. Great way to spread out our friend group, plenty of space for activities, big kitchen space, and magical memories.

Such a cool place in a beautiful location!

I had our small wedding here and invited our family to come and stay at the castle with us. Everyone enjoyed how unique the property is and it was perfect for the event. Plenty of space in the house for everyone, and so many activities available! We would love to come back!

Well worth the trip

We are a family of 19, ranging in age from 13 to 80, and we all had a grand time. The house is very unique and sits atop a hill. The kitchen is well-equipped, you just have to provide the food. There is also a wok and an outdoor bbq. Hiking, fishing, tubing, jet skis, cave exploring...our group did it all in spite of the incredibly hot and humid weather. The youngsters enjoyed the indoor basketball court. There is an indoor elevator available for use by handicapped or mobility challenged only, but there is no wheelchair ramp or lift. Maureen, the owner of the property, was super responsive and accommodating when we had questions or problems. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

The Old Kinderhook Castle is a breathtaking blend of luxury, space, and charm — the perfect getaway for a large family looking to make unforgettable memories at the Lake of the Ozarks. We had five families, 11 grandchildren, and still plenty of room for everyone. The stunning Old Castle/Winery theme, huge stone fireplace, lake views, and décor evoking a Middle Ages castle made it truly special. The master suite was pure luxury with a walk-in shower, jacuzzi tub, his-and-hers basins, and a wine bar.Spacious gathering areas and multiple kitchens made meals and games easy, while an indoor gymnasium with basketball hoop and modern media room kept kids and adults entertained. Through the gated Old Kinderhook community, we enjoyed golf, pickleball, swimming, and a gym. A nearby dock made for an unforgettable boating day on the Lake of the Ozarks.The location was ideal — just minutes from Camdenton for restaurants, groceries, and fuel. Best of all, the owner and property manager were outstanding in their communication and responsiveness, making our stay seamless. Highly recommend this property for large family gatherings — we’re already planning our return!

Stay at the Castle

This property was amazing and had something for everyone. Very clean, comfortable and accommodating. Kitchen was amazing and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the long weekend. Movie theater and basketball court were big hits for the kiddos and the basketball court and downstairs bar was a great place to hang out after the kids were put to bed. Property Manager was great and very responsive. Would absolutely stay here again.

You have privacy, with 85 acres directly behind the estate, and access to all of the amenities of our gated community - you get the best of both worlds.
