Whitetail Oaks - Charming Farmhouse on 34 Private Acres w/Private Pool

An exquisite, handcrafted home, blending contemporary with warm rustic elegance, in a Hill Country setting on 34 private acres. Relax on the porch in a rocking chair, enjoy snuggling up by the the indoor fireplace, read a book while soaking in the hot tub, or just do nothing at all - this is relaxation at its best!

The open living, kitchen, and dining areas make it convenient for your family and friends to enjoy quality time no matter where they prefer to hang out. The game room was designed with both kids and adults in mind. Enjoy a night of poker around the game table, a competitive game of shuffleboard, or bust one of the good old fashioned family board games. Although the home only has 4 bedrooms, the owners very thoughtfully and strategically created a way for groups as large as 13 guests to enjoy the space together comfortably. The outdoor amenities do not disappoint offering a grill area, outdoor fire pit, and even a disk golf course. And best of all, a brand new swimming pool was just completed!

HEATING POOL: The pool can be heated from October - March. Advance notice is required if you would like to heat the pool. There is an additional charge of $150 per day to cover the propane usage/cost it incurs.

CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES: Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is 10:00 am. Luggage storage is unavailable while the home is being prepared for your arrival. We recommend making travel plans accordingly.

SELF CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS: All reservations will be required to sign a rental agreement and provide Hills of Texas Lodging with a valid credit card to be placed on file for their stay. In lieu of charging a damage deposit or non-refundable damage waiver, a temporary hold of $500 will be placed on a credit card upon arrival for incidentals (just like they do at hotels). We are basically just verifying with your financial institution that sufficient funds are available in the event they were needed to cover property damage(s). If there are no property damages, the card will not be charged.

AGE REQUIREMENT: Everyone participating in the reservation must be over age 25 or if accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

MAX OCCUPANCY: The maximum capacity for this home is 13 guests (including children). No visitors or day guests are allowed. Only the guests registered in this reservation are allowed onsite. If it is discovered that guests are over occupying the property, it will result in eviction.

PET POLICY: Pets are only allowed if they have been registered prior to your arrival. A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed and a pet fee of $25.00 per pet, per night will be added to the reservation after approval. Non-registered pets are strictly forbidden and will result in forfeiture of the full security deposit.

We loved this place. We traveled with 6 adults and a puppy. The house does a great job with giving each couple their own space with plenty of shared areas. We really enjoyed the porch and rocking chairs, the pool, firepit, grill, pickleball, and exploring the property. The beds were comfortable and we all slept great. Highly recommend this property. We will return with our kids and grandkids.
Great firepit - be sure to bring your own wood.

The layout of the house was perfect for our family and the porch, yard and pool areas were safe for kids. Location- close enough to go into wimberly and San Marcos for events and outings.

The location and amenities at this property were definitely the highlight. The pool area and setup were great, and overall the house had what we needed for a nice stay.That said, communication with the property management company was frustrating. I had to follow up multiple times through the app regarding the deposit, pet fee, and waiver and eventually had to call the management company to get a response. We also didn’t receive check-in instructions until I called about two hours before arriving, which was stressful.Once we got there, everything seemed fine at first glance, but we quickly noticed some issues: the master bathroom door was off the rails (I almost got stuck inside), and the bathroom next to it had a stuck door as well. There was only one roll of toilet paper provided in the master… the cleaning people obviously didn't pay attention to details. The pool area didn’t have a light, so once it got dark, we couldn’t really enjoy being in that area. The hot tub also wasn’t heating properly, even though we followed the instructions. Finally, it would have been nice to have some basics stocked, like aluminum foil or plastic wrap, which we’ve found pretty standard in other rentals.Overall, it’s a good property in a great spot, but the communication and attention to detail definitely need improvement, especially considering the price point.

Great Getaway

This home was absolutely perfect for our family of 11! Each family had their own private space and bathroom, which made the stay comfortable and relaxing. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit with everyone, and the peaceful scenery made it easy to unwind — we especially loved sitting in the rocking chairs and taking in the view from the balcony. It had that quiet, country feel while still being close enough to the city for shopping and outings. We’ve already talked about booking again!

hidden gem

We rented this place to be out of the hustle of San Marcos for graduation weekend. It was the most perfect location. We loved all of the fun outside amenities as well as the fully stocked kitchen so we could cook there. All the way down to shampoo, conditioner, body wash, trash bags and spices. We would recommend this house!

Very nice. Well stocked kitchen with plenty of plates, bowls, etc. A couple of suggestions though. The doorknobs/door handles need some minor repair. The exterminator needs to do a service as we found a few scorpions. They are not uncommon in the area, but they do need to be kept out of the house. Surprisingly there is a neighbor very close by and one night they gave their outdoor stereo system a workout until past midnight. Also, one day we could hear the sound of some type of gun being fired.

Beautiful Stay in the Hill Country!

Our whole family ( 3 generations) loved staying at Whitetail Oaks! The property was beautiful and in a great location, close enough for us to attend the Blanco Lavender Festival and eat in Wimberley. The house is spacious and we were all able to spread out. I especially loved the porch and the pool was a big hit with everyone! We had one minor problem and it was handled quickly, great communication with the management company/owners. We would definitely stay here again and I've recommended it to all our friends.

Lovely, peaceful, secluded

This ranch house has room for everyone. The inside is large, cosy, and beautifully decorated. The outside space is absolutely great with long porch, fire pit, outside pavilion, pool. Great place for a family or friend get- together.

Patience Needed to Appreciate Beauty

Great value for money, notwithstanding minor issues COMBINED with very poor communication from property management. Furniture needs replacement, no place to sit and beautiful doors need door knob maintenance. Pool heating cost excessive. AMAZING floor plan, deck and grounds gave bonding opportunities and more than make up for minor issues.

Great place to enjoy time with your children's families!

The property was as described and was very clean. The layout of the house with an open kitchen to dining and living area was great for entertaining 6 adults and 3 kids under 5 years of age. The bedroom areas are nicely spaced with each having their own bathroom now that we have adult children with families. The back covered porch with rockers and small tables was a nice place to sit and relax as well as a place for a 4 & 2 year old to ride their riding toys the morning it rained. The outdoor pavilion with large picnic table and 3 grills was great as we prepared all of meals. The Weber gas grill I used was very clean and worked well. We used the hot tub, it was very clean and worked well, too cold for the pool but was nice to sit around the pool. The grounds were nice with disc golf course, horseshoes, a nice gravel/asphalt topped road to house, and lots of room to hike around. We only left the house for 2 hikes and see the Christmas lights at Emily Ann Theatre in Wimberley. Communication with the manager was very easy with quick replies. Will definitely come back when the weather is warm enough to enjoy the pool!

Peaceful & Beautiful

My husband & I booked this stay for our honeymoon. First couple of nights we had to ourselves and the weekend we had close friends stay with us. We have 2 dogs and this rental was absolutely wonderful for a cozy gathering. We will definitely be booking again!

The home is beautiful & in a great spot. We enjoyed the amazing property, the pool & hot tub & the grandkids really enjoyed the game room! The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen roomy & everything was just perfect. Would stay here again!

Perfect weekend getaway

This house had everything we needed! We loved that every bedroom had their own full bathroom. The kitchen and living spaces were spacious and perfect for our large group. The pool and outdoor space was amazing! The listing was accurate and the house was very clean. The listing said to expect bugs since you're out in the country, but we didn't see any inside the house, which was nice. The only negative was there was a few things that were broken or we couldn't use, like the corn hole set and the frisbee golf course because of overgrown weeds. But that didn't really impact our stay at all. Would definitely recommend this property for large groups.

Weekend getaway

Incredible house, plenty of sleeping spaces, great deck, and grill area. Ample parking, and of course the pool and hot tub! Very private but still close to town, and beautiful property.
