The house smelled for wet dog when we arrived and entered the house, we reached out to the host and she assured us that the rugs were just steamed and the smell would go away in 4-6 hours when they dried completely, which was not the case. As we looked closer there was dog hair throughout the property including on the floors, furniture, and one of the beds. The sofa smelled strongly of dog and the vacuum was clogged with dog hair.In addition the microwave looked like food had exploded in there and it wasn’t cleaned and the kitchen sink was clogged and the garbage disposal was locked up.Also the kitchen trash can was filthy.In speaking with the host she revealed the previous tenant trash the place beyond belief and they did a deep cleaning but didn’t have time to inspect the property.In addition there was not any cleaning supplies in the house, the hvac system was inop and there was not a grill even though it was listed.Had it not been a holiday weekend we would have chosen to move to another place but we were in town for a family wedding and we had several more of our family members flying in to stay in our rental house, it was a 5 bedroom place.So we chose to go out and purchase cleaning supplies and spend many hours cleaning the house and trying to get the smell out. We were glad we came in a day before other family members started to arrive and allowed us time to clean.The host did reimburse us for cleaning supplies and gave us a small refund, not enough.
